Breaking two days southward journey, Indian equities made a gap up start taking a supportive lead from global
markets. Bulls retained their hold on benchmarks with Sensex scoring over 150 points. Sentiments turned negative
after Nifty slipped below psychological 6K level. Choppy benchmarks remained weak and ended flat. On BSE sectorial
front, Capital Goods was the top gainer.
Among global peers, most of the US indices traded higher on upbeat US economic data with US Dow Jones
surpassing 16000 mark for the first time. Tracking the positive cues, Asian and European indices too traded mostly in
green.
Back home, Cairn India shot 3.10% on BSE as the companyโs Board will consider the proposal for Buy Back of Equity
