1. Markets end in green for third straight day; Rupee breaches 62/$

Disregarding negative cues from global peers, Indian equity indices continued the Bull Run for third straight session.
Sentiments remained positive on buoyed Rupee past 62/$ level. Choppy markets dipped once in early noon trades to
hit day’s low levels but soon recuperated and ended in positive terrain. Among BSE sectorials, Realty was the top
gainer.
On global front, US indices traded mostly lower. Most of the Asian and European indices also traded lower on weak
lead from US peers.
Back home, Indian Rupee tasted 2 week high against USD. INR hit a high past 62/$ level of 61.96 per USD and a low
of 62.5 per USD in futures trade.
On stock specific front, Bharti Airtel jumped 1.95% on BSE as the company will reportedly sell its African tower
business for a valuation of $1.8 billion. (Read More)
IDBI Bank gained 1.6% on BSE as the lender is planning to raise up to Rs 1,200 crore through qualified institutional

IT major, Mindtree hit a record high of Rs 1453.55 on BSE and ended 1.95% up after the company appointed Ramesh
Pillai as head of high tech vertical and Mark Wilsdon as head of sales for UK and EU operations.
Jet Airways spiked 3.27% on BSE its promoter Tail Winds sold 7.9% stake for nearly Rs 211 crore via open market
transactions.
Financial Technologies spurted 2.07% on BSE after company’s Singapore based subsidiary has sold 100% of its
equity ownership in SMX to ICE Singapore Holdings for $150 million. (Read More)
The market breadth on the BSE closed in positive. Advancing and declining stocks were 1332 and 1236 respectively,
while 173 scrips remained unmoved.
The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 20890.82, up 40.08 points or 0.19%. The 30 share index touched a high and a low of
20934.40 and 20828.69 respectively. 14 stocks advanced against 15 declining ones on the benchmark index.
The CNX Nifty gained 14.35 points or 0.23% to settle at 6203.35. The index touched high and low of 6212.40 and
6180.20 respectively. 25 stocks advanced against 24 declining ones on the index.

The S&P BSE Mid-cap index moved up to 6241.96 and gained 0.46% while S&P BSE Small-cap index jumped up by
0.32% to 6032.67.
The broader S&P BSE 500 index increased to 7604.83 (up 0.22%) and CNX 500 index rose to 4771.75 (up 0.23%).
The volatility as denoted by INDIA VIX gained 2.55% at 19.30 from its previous close of 18.82 on Monday.

On the BSE Sectorial front, Real Estate (up 1.51%), Capital Goods (up 1.28%) and Banks (up 0.35%) were the top
gainers.
Consumer Durables (down 0.69%), FMCG (down 0.45%) and Healthcare (down 0.24%) were the top losers.

Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (up 4.37%), Hindalco Industries Ltd (up 4.25%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (up 3.28%), State
Bank of India (up 3.18%) and Bharti Airtel Ltd (up 1.94%) were the top gainers on the Sensex.
Sesa Sterlite Ltd (down 1.88%), HDFC Bank (down 1.29%), Coal India Ltd (down 1.20%), Tata Consultancy Services
Ltd (down 0.79%) and Wipro Ltd (down 0.77%) were the top losers on the Sensex.

Infosys Ltd (24.73 points), State Bank of India (20.22 points), HDFC Bank (-19.25 points), Larsen And Toubro Ltd
