1. Nifty holds 6100 on F&O expiry day...M&M top gainer

On the day of May F&O expiry, Indian markets started in red zone amid weak global cues and remained choppy in
range bound trades. In late afternoon deals, markets edged higher and closed near day’s high levels, with Nifty 6100.
On sectorial front, Auto sector was the top gainer as Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra soared on posting robust
Q4 numbers.
Globally, all the US and Asian Indices traded in negative terrain with Nikkei sinking more than 5%. On the other hand,
European markets traded on a mixed note.
Back Home, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd spurted 4.61% on BSE after company’s Q4 Net rose marginally by 1.68% to
Rs 889.19 crore as against as Rs 874.48 crore on YoY basis. Total Income grew 11.55% to Rs 10578.72 crore in
March Quarter. The stock was the star performer on both Sensex and Nifty (Featured Result)
Automobile major, Tata Motors soared 4.31% on BSE despite posting disappointing Q4 numbers. Standalone Net
tanked 155% to a Net loss of Rs 312.15 crore. On consolidated basis, revenue gained 10 percent to Rs 56002 crore
whereas Net declined 37 percent to Rs 3945 crore YoY. (Result)
Bharti Airtel ended 0.51% up on BSE despite the reports of Department of Telecom (DoT) to ask the company for
paying a penalty of Rs 650 crore for allegedly violating license terms on the subscriber local dialing (SLD) services.
Pharmaceutical major, Cipla Ltd dipped 4.62% on BSE on posting a fall of 8.29% in Q4 Net to Rs 267.56 crore. The
stock was the laggard on both Sensex and Nifty (Result)
Housing Development and Infrastructure Ltd (HDIL) sinked 6.88% on BSE after registering 371% decline in Q4 Net at
a Net loss of Rs 262.27 crore. (Result)
National Mineral Development Corporation Ltd (NMDC) surged 2.40% on BSE despite reporting a fall of 10.80% in its
Net profit at Rs 1464.95 crore in Q4FY13. (Result)
Net profit of Oil and Natural Gas Ltd (ONGC) dived 16.70% to Rs 20925.70 crore in Q4. The stock closed 0.09%
down on BSE.
Power Finance Corporation (PFC) plunged 2.15% on BSE despite registering 45.77% rise in Q4 Net to Rs 4419.60
crore on year on year basis.
T he market breadth on the BSE closed in negative. Advancing and declining stocks were 1092 and 1348
respectively, while 139 scrips remained unmoved.
The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 20215.40, up 67.76 points or 0.34%. The 30 share index touched a high and a low of
20254.03 and 20066.14 respectively. 15 stocks advanced against 15 declining ones on the benchmark index.
The CNX Nifty gained 19.75 points or 0.32% to settle at 6124.05. The index touched high and low of 6133.75 and
6072.15 respectively. 25 stocks advanced against 24 declining ones on the index.
S&P BSE Sensex CNX Nifty
The S&P BSE Mid-cap index moved up to 6475.92 and gained 0.04% while S&P BSE Small-cap index hammered
down by 0.35% to 6037.43.
The broader S&P BSE 500 index increased to 7584.36 (up 0.17%) and CNX 500 index rose to 4774.00 (up 0.15%).
The volatility as denoted by INDIA VIX lost 10.19% at 16.04 from its previous close of 17.86 on Wednesday.

On the BSE Sectorial front, Automobile (up 2.29%), FMCG (up 1.88%) and Power (up 0.71%) were the top gainers.
Real Estate (down 2.39%), Metals (down 1.11%) and Oil & Gas (down 0.74%) were the top losers.

2. Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd (up 4.61%), Tata Motors Ltd (up 4.31%), ITC Ltd (up 3.51%), Housing Development
Finance Corporation Ltd (up 1.80%) and NTPC Ltd (up 1.62%) were the top gainers on the Sensex.
Cipla Ltd (down 4.62%), Tata Steel Ltd (down 3.90%), Hindalco Industries Ltd (down 3.18%), ICICI Bank (down
2.71%) and Hero MotoCorp Ltd (down 1.96%) were the top losers on the Sensex.

ITC Ltd (78.99 points), ICICI Bank (-45.23 points), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (28.57 points), Tata
Motors Ltd (27.44 points) and Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd (24.28 points) were the major Sensex drivers today.
On the other end ITC Ltd (19.33 points), ICICI Bank (-11.11 points), Tata Motors Ltd (7.00 points), Housing
Development Finance Corporation Ltd (6.90 points) and Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd (6.02 points) were the major Nifty
movers today.
Pivot, Supports and Resistance Levels
CNX Nifty is now pivoted at 6110 for next session. The next support is at 6086 and on upside it has a resistance at
6148 levels.
