1. Nifty reclaims 5900; Aviation stocks zoom on Jet-Etihad deal

Indian equity benchmarks ended with hefty gains on April F&O expiry day. Sensex surpassed 19400 while Nifty also
ended above the psychological 5900 mark. Rate sensitive sectoral indices led the gainers on charts on the hopes of
rate cut by RBI in coming policy review on May 3rd.
Jet Airways zoomed 10.69 % and hit fresh 52 week high at Rs 688.60 on BSE on entering strategic agreement with
Etihad Airways. Other aviation stocks like Spicejet (shot up 18.24%) and Kingfisher Airlines (0.88%) also ended in
green.
Tata Motors jumped 4.21% on BSE after Credit Suisse reported that its luxury brand Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) will lift
sales of company ahead of competition in China.
Motilal Ostwal Financial Services surged 6.16% on BSE after the company announced buyback of shares.
Key Quarterly Results
Axis Bank: The leading private sector bank reported an above estimated 21.76% jump in Q4 Net at Rs 1555.15 crore.
The Net Revenues grew 16.29% at Rs 7047.55 crore. The stock closed 4.13% up on BSE. (Featured Result)
Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Ltd: The company reported 32.36% rise in Net Sales at Rs 1110.29 crore.
The net Profit jumped 46.61% at Rs 333.81 crore. The stock hit a new 52 week high at Rs 247.25 and closed 10.58%

United Phosphorus Ltd: Net Sales increased by 47.94% and Net Profit dipped by 87.24%. The stock 2.40% up on

L&T Finance Holdings reported 21% growth in Q4 at Rs 171 crore. The stock closed 0.32% up on BSE.
The market breadth on the BSE closed in positive. Advancing and declining stocks were 1266 and 1182 respectively,
while 140 scrips remained unmoved.
The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 19406.85, up 227.49 points or 1.19%. The 30 share index touched a high and a low
of 19434.85 and 19192.11 respectively. 22 stocks advanced against 8 declining ones on the benchmark index.
The CNX Nifty gained 79.40 points or 1.36% to settle at 5916.30. The index touched high and low of 5924.60 and
5853.30 respectively. 40 stocks advanced against 10 declining ones on the index.
S&P BSE Sensex CNX Nifty
The S&P BSE Mid-cap index moved up to 6315.29 and gained 0.50% while S&P BSE Small-cap index jumped up by
0.09% to 6056.63.
The broader S&P BSE 500 index increased to 7349.71 (up 1.06%) and CNX 500 index rose to 4624.30 (up 1.14%).
The volatility as denoted by INDIA VIX lost 5.77% at 14.20 from its previous close of 15.07 on Tuesday.

On the BSE Sectorial front, Automobile (up 2.79%), Healthcare (up 2.04%) and Oil & Gas (up 1.43%) were the top
gainers.
Information Technology (down 1.65%), Real Estate (down 0.64%) and Consumer Durables (down 0.48%) were the top

Dr. Reddys Laboratories Ltd (up 4.72%), Tata Motors Ltd (up 4.21%), NTPC Ltd (up 4.06%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd
