1. Markets end down ahead of F&O expiry tommorow

On the penultimate day of F&O expiry, Indian indices made a cautious start. Benchmarks were seen hovering around
the previous close for most part of the day amidst negative global cues. Volatile markets cut another 0.15% to end in
red zone with Nifty at 8002.
The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 26744.69, down 31.00 points or 0.12%. The 30 share index touched a high and a
low of 26844.70 and 26560.00 respectively. 15 stocks advanced against 15 declining ones on the benchmark index.
T he CNX Nifty lost 15.15 points or 0.19% to settle at 8002.40. The index touched high and low of 8042.05 and
7950.05 respectively. 21 stocks advanced against 29 declining ones on the index.
T h e market breadth on the BSE closed in negative. Advancing and declining stocks were 1101 and 2022
respectively, while 115 scrips remained unmoved.
S&P BSE Sensex CNX Nifty
The S&P BSE Mid-cap index moved down to 9580.83 and lost 1.19% while S&P BSE Small-cap index hammered
down by 1.62% to 10791.44.
The broader S&P BSE 500 index decreased to 10210.35 (down 0.41%) and CNX 500 index declined to 6437.25 (down
0.43%).
The volatility as denoted by INDIA VIX gained 1.05% at 12.54 from its previous close of 12.41 on Tuesday.
On the global turf, US markets continued the losing streak for third straight day amidst persisting tensions in Syria
and weak European data. Asian and European indices too traded weak overshadowing better-than-expected Chinese
manufacturing numbers.
Back home, on currency front, Rupee was trading soft against Dollar tailing the strength of dollar index which hit
four year high against basket of major currencies. As per RBI reference data, Rupee stood at 61.03 per Dollar.
Sectors in action
On the BSE Sectorial front, FMCG (up 1.75%), Healthcare (up 0.55%) and Oil & Gas (up 0.23%) were the top gainers.
Capital Goods (down 1.69%), Real Estate (down 1.69%) and Consumer Durables (down 1.27%) were the top losers.
Among stock-specific movements, Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd crashed 12.9% on BSE on turning ex-dividend
today for an interim dividend of Rs 485 per share for the year.
SREI Infrastructure Finance slipped 2.17% on BSE on having plans to divest its assets worth Rs 500-1000 crore and
expects them to be monetized by this fiscal year-end.
Educomp Solutions climbed 2.46% on reports that the Aditya Birla Group is in talks to acquire the schools business of
the company as the company has been restructuring its business portfolio to deleverage its balance sheet.
Thermax jumped 3.26% on BSE as its joint venture (JV) - TBWES bagged an export order from B&W PGG worth Rs
339 crore for detailed engineering, manufacturing and supply of selective items for two pulverized coal-fired boilers for
an international project.
The Angels and the Devils
Coal India Ltd (up 5.02%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd (up 2.87%), Cipla Ltd (up 2.62%), ITC Ltd (up 1.58%) and Wipro Ltd
(up 1.56%) were the top gainers on the Sensex.
State Bank of India (down 2.68%), Tata Steel Ltd (down 2.63%), Larsen And Toubro Ltd (down 2.09%), Bharat Heavy
Electricals Ltd (down 2.06%) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (down 1.69%) were the top losers on the Sensex.

points), ICICI Bank (-7.41 points) and Hindustan Unilever Ltd (6.92 points) were the major Nifty movers today.
Pivot, Supports and Resistance Levels
CNX Nifty is now pivoted at 7998 for next session. The next support is at 7954 and on upside it has a resistance at
8046 levels.
