Direct speech
When we write any statement as it is said, is called
Direct Speech
E.g. Rahul said,” I go for walk daily.”
Indirect speech
When we report anybody’s statement in our own
words is called indirect speech
E.g.. Rahul said that he went for walk daily.
4. If you can't fly, then RUN.
If you can't run, then WALK.
If you can't walk, then CRAWL.
But whatever you do,
YOU HAVE TO KEEP MOVING.
5. They tell me that they were playing with me.
They say to me, “We are playing with you.”

He told me that he had left home immediately.
They said to me, “You always play with us.”
They told me that I always played with them.

16. INTERROGATIVE SENTENCE.
1-Doctor said to patient,’’ Did you take the medicine
yesterday?”
Doctor asked patient if he had taken the medicine the
previous day.
2- Shalini said to Priya,” When will your mother come?”
Shalini asked Priya when her mother would go.
3-Patient said to Doctor,” May I go now?”
Patient asked doctor if he might go then.
4-Principal said to student, “Why are you late today?”
Principal asked student why he was late that day.
