4. I targeted this questionnaire at specifically at my focus group (girls aged
14-17.) As it is the focus group that the music video is targeting, their
opinions and views matter the most because I need to create something
that is most appealing to them and that will please them and encourage
them to watch.
I have asked 31 girls because its girls that my music video and ancillary
products are targeting.
I gained feedback from a range of ages from 14-17 to make my results
more reliable and representative of my focus group.
I tried to gain responses from an equal amount of people in the different
ages in my target group to get an equal opinion from the different aged
people that my product aims to target.

which was to create a music video that people would associate with
the POP genre.

“bright colours – it signifies the pop
genre of the music video”
“the balloons” “good lighting”
“everything”
“I absolutely love the balloon shots”
9. 4. What do you like about my music video?
• Out of the 31 responses, 39 comments were made. I have formulated these
responses in to a pie chart to make it easier to understand. The two most
popular comments were the use of colours and the make-up of the artist, in
particularly respondents commented on the lips.
• The use of bright colours
• This positive feedback is beneficial to me because my focus group have established a
feature that I purposely used to anchor the music video as one from the pop genre.
• Make up – especially the lips
• This positive feedback was also beneficial to me because the lips were part of the
artist’s star image and an iconic feature. My focus group have recognised this feature
as something that they like which will encourage them to watch the music video.

5. What could I change about my music video?
How does the concert clip fit in with the rest of the music video? Add special effects
Some parts aren't in sync - link lyrics to visuals Don't like it when the artist pulls the curtain across
Add more colours in Some clips are too long
Nothing You could have the name of the song at the start
Add some different shots I can't see a narrative
Could add an extra person in
11. “I don’t understand how the concert shots fit in with the rest of the
video when it isn’t actually the artist playing”
“Some parts are out of sync”
”There’s not a narrative, you could perhaps add that in”
“The concert clip doesn’t fit in with the rest of the music”
“Why does the artists pull the curtain when it says ‘someone
hold the sunlight back’?”
“You could perhaps make the lyrics link to visuals in a more
appropriate way”
“How does the recording at the concert fit in with the video?
I would take that out” “Song lyrics are out of sync with the visuals”
“The concert clip confuses me because its not actually the
artist singing at the concert”
Here is some of the comments I picked out about how I could improve my
music video….
12. 5. What could I change about my music video?
• This was the most important question in my questionnaire. This question gathers
things that my focus group think I can change in my music video. Seeing as I am
aiming the music video at my focus group, their opinions and feedback matter
immensely because it will allow me to adjust the music video to specifically suit
their interests.
• This feedback will allow me to adapt my music video to suit the focus groups
needs
• The most important comments I picked out were
• Some parts are not in sync – so I will go back and tidy up the music video to make it look
more professional and sophisticated.
• The clips of the concert don’t fit with the rest of the music video – as the artist isn’t actually
performing this doesn't link to the rest of the music video therefore I will take it out and
replace it with something else.
• Adding in special effects – to make the music video look more professional and give the
audience something else to look at .
