1. 4) Who would be the audience for your media product?
For the film we have made I think our film would be targeted at ages from 15 to 25. With a varied of
women and men. For example men would want to see the film because we have an attractive
actress which will be eye catching for them. Also women and young girls find it appealing to watch
because it is something they can relate to. For example keeping fit and wanting to look nice. Also our
film is an independent film meaning we did not have a big budget to advertise our thriller opening.
For us to advertise our film opening word of mouth would be the easiest and cheapest way of
promoting it. Also we could put our film on the internet; example YouTube which is free and let
people watch it. Using the internet is a good way of advertising out film because a lot of teenagers
and young women and me use the internet to search and find things.
Demographics –
Demographics or demographic is information regarding human population. It studies their
characteristics, race, gender, economic data such as employment and unemployment rates, their
ways of life etc. The demographics of our film would be age, interests and gender. I think both men
and women would be interested in watching out film. Age is an important factor as the case of the
film is mainly young around 17 – 18. The main character is a young blonde girl which may mean
young girls might watch the film for because they are able to relate with her in certain ways. Also
people who are into thrillers and independent films would be interested in seeing this film opening.
Factors such as what the main character wears and looks like might influence them to become fit
and look like that. But also at the beginning Lauren (main character) is running while listening to
music. This is also popular music which the young audience might have heard before. The clothes
she is wearing are also popular with the young generation. She was wearing leggings, black top and
Nike air max which is very popular with the teenagers.
