Definition Of Problem For Sales Department
Definition of Problem The problem presented within this particular situation centers around the high
number of sales for the next year being predicted by the sales department. The owners of the
company, Mr. Sparks and Ms. Cash, based on their experiences, believe these numbers to be
unrealistic and want more accurate numbers to be calculated. However, upon interviewing those
within the sales department, it is found they see no problem in their numbers and are quick to
provide reasons for them. They exhibit a very high level of confidence in their ability to deliver.
Lastly, when confronted with data such as lost accounts, they are quick to push the negativity onto
other departments, taking no blame for any failures.
Concepts that Address the Problem
–Over Confidence– The next year's projections by the sales team are considered by Mr. Sparks and
Ms. Cash to be high. They do not agree with the numbers because of their experiences and data
known by them. To correct this issue the reasoning by the sales team must be understood. The
concept of Over Confidence (Ricciardi, 2000) entails the manner in which humans often think more
of themselves or their own abilities than what is realistic.
This describes the overconfidence of the sales people and their belief that they will achieve the
projected lofty goals. Furthermore, as the sales people are quick to dismiss the loss of accounts the
previous year, their over confidence and failure to admit their own failures, leads

The Notebook Comparison
Why I Think the Notebook is worth seeing
If you like the simplicity of the 1940's, their clothing, cars, love and romance this might be a movie
you should see and why I really like this movie. It takes you from where you are in your own life,
and into the lives of this couple. Nicholas Sparks wrote this novel from what he witnessed firsthand;
he used the relationship of his wife's grandparents as the basis of this film. And their names are
Noah and Allie; he gives us a glimpse into their lives by sharing their stories. They express their
commitment, devotion, and unwavering love for one another throughout this movie. As well as
disappointment's, such as Allie's parent's dislike of Noah's financial situation and the reality of what
her future might look like. In spite, of the obstacles they faced, and years of separation. Allie and
Noah never gave up on their love. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One example is the unusual way he asked her out, risking his own life he jumped onto a Ferris
wheel while it was in motion barely hanging onto the frame and he wouldn't get down until she
agreed to go out with him. He expressed his love through his actions towards her by listening to
what she had to say; what she liked to do or was interested in. He felt that she was always trying to
please everyone else trying to be what her parents wanted her to be, afraid of making someone else
unhappy. She loved Noah she didn't care who knew it. They were inseparable and in love, where

While he does notice it all, he still is shocked about it all when he finds out that his parents are
getting separated and his mother is now dating a local sculptor Guillermo Garcia. When his mother
passes on, Noah sort of wants to change who he is and tries to turn himself into something he's not.
Almost as if he is ashamed of himself and how he was before his mother had passed. He cuts his
hair and tries to act completely different from how he was, except for the internet posts he is leaving
intended for Brian to see. Jude isn't having the easiest time with all of what's happened either. She
too cuts her hair and starts dressing differently. She is barely talking to Noah and is flunking out of
art school but, Guillermo starts mentoring Jude hoping to steer her back in the right direction, plus
she is now starting to work with some stone sculpting. Jude also has struck something with Oscar, a
British bad boy who is like a son to Guillermo. But, he's not really the "commitment" kind of guy.
This may not be a bad thing though, because Jude is then somehow convinced that her sexual

True Love In Noah Calhoun's The Notebook
People say that they are "in love" or that that they think they have found "the one" all of the time.
Those words have almost become so easy to use but unfortunately it seems like no one really knows
the true meaning of them anymore. So what is love? What is true love? As said in The Notebook,
"The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more; that plants a fire in
our hearts and brings peace to our minds."– Noah Calhoun or in Dear John when John says, "and
when her lips met mine, I knew that I could to be a hundred and visit every country in the world, but
nothing would ever compare to the single moment when I first kissed the girl of my dreams and
knew that my love would last forever" –John. Both of those quotes are so powerful and so
passionate and both of the men saying them to be so in love with their girls. But was either of these
situations true love? Most people would say yes and that is probably why both films went on to be
two of the most famous and most favorable love films of our time. But other than their amazing
story lines and heart throbbing love stories and slight differences, one thing that is so amazing is just
how similar their stories really are. In the Notebook a man by the name of Duke reads a story to a
lady who has Alzheimer's and has lost most of her memory. The story is about an upper class
seventeen year–old named Allie Hamilton who is spending her summer in Seabrook, South Carolina
with her family. There is a local

The Notebook, By Nicholas Sparks
Nicholas Sparks' main theme that he portrayed in "The Notebook" was that of the unconditional
love of Noah and Allie. Nursing is a very important factor involved in this movie and nursing is
defined as, "the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness
and injury, facilitation of healing, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of
human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, groups, communities, and
populations" (ANA). The theme of love impacts the concept of nursing and allows the viewers to
see what values and beliefs are truly important throughout the movie.
In the movie, "The Notebook," Nicholas Sparks shows the importance of love in all aspects of life.
Throughout the movie, Sparks shows Noah's struggle to regain Allie's memories, while still loving
her unconditionally. Sparks emphasizes the endless opportunities people would do for love, just like
Noah did for Allie every day. The theme of the power of love is essential in this movie. Although
Allie is diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and loses her memory, Noah still fights to regain her
memory and allow her to love him again. Their unconditional love is so powerful that Alzheimer's
cannot take away everything that they had together. Noah and Allie overcame many obstacles
throughout life, that could have torn anyone apart, but in the end their love was what allowed them
to fight everything and bring them even closer and stronger

Comparison Between the Notebook Movie and Book Essay
Enduring power of love: The Notebook The Notebook, written by Nicolas Sparks, can be named one
of the best American romantic novels. The book portrays every trait in a guy or girl would desire to
have in a significant other. According to Nicolas Sparks, "it is a celebration of how passion can be
ageless and timeless, tales that moves us to laughter and tears and makes us believe in true love all
over again". The Notebook was on the New York Times best–seller list within the very first week of
release. It spent over a year as a hardcover best seller. Theresa Park, Nicolas Sparks' agent,
discovered the book after going through her slush pile, without hesitation, Park offered to represent
him. In 1995, one year later, Sparks agent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another strength in this movie was the plot. Without a good plot, there would be no point to the
movie. The last and final strength in "The Notebook" is emotion. This film takes one through every
motion imaginable. As for examples, when Allie and Noah split, the emotional response
automatically takes a tole on someone. It's as if, your actually apart of the movie. In the book,
Allison and Noah met in 1932, at the time Allison was 15 and Noah was 17. But in the movie, they
met in the year of 1940, where they both were around the same age of 17. According to Cassavetes,
(unsolved), this movie was filmed in South Carolina because of its 1040's look. Allison and Noah
meet at a carnival, where Allison is very fond of Noah. With love in the air, they spent the rest of the
night together until the carnival was over. However, in the movie, Noah became infatuated with
Allison, and went to the extreme of insanity by jumping on the ferry's wheel to ask her out. Noah
plays remarkable in both and just makes the audience fall in love with his character. With most
summer romances follows heartache. As for Noah and Allison, their fairytale love weren't excluded.
When the summer ended, Allison had to return back home, leaving Noah behind. With heartache
comes conflict, according to the movie, Allison and Noah got into a huge fight before she left, which
ultimately lead them regretting the whole disagreement. Nicolas Sparks, captured this moment
perfectly,

How Did Nicholas Sparks Write Safe Haven
Introduction Do you enjoy reading romance novel? If yes, then you will enjoy reading Safe Haven
that was written by Nicholas Sparks. Nicholas Sparks was born on December 31, 1965, in Omaha,
Nebraska. The inspiration to write Safe Haven is that he wanted to write something different than
the previous novel and he wanted to surprise the readers. Safe Haven's story is about a woman
named Katie who her past is unknown to the others. She moved to Southport to start a new life and,
to hide her dark secret. She avoided making friends and she stayed hidden to avoid getting her
location being exposed. All was until she fell in love with a man (Alex) that she should not have.
This book contains 43 chapters. I know it may seems long but believe me when i said this. This
book will make people want for more. I strongly recommend people to read this book because the

Half way through the book, the author revealed Katie's dark secret. She ran away from home
because, she was abused by her husband. She hid herself and was afraid of people knowing her
secret because people would despise her. After knowing Katie's secret, I kept wondering when will
justice be served to Kevin (Katie's husband)? I strongly dislike this character, because he is abusive
towards Katie, even though she treats him well. He hits her so badly until she had bruises on her
face and, he refused to bring her to the hospital. Katie suffered from internal wounds that causes her
to pee blood for a week or so. In the end, Kevin gets what he deserved, he died from alcohol

The Lovers, By Rachel Mcadams And Ryan Gosling
"We're gonna have to work at this everyday, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of
you, forever, everyday. You and me...everyday." Sound familiar? The lovers are named Allie
Hamilton and Noah Calhoun, also known as Duke. As young people, these characters are played by
Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling. These actors portray first loves and heartbreak that tugs on
your heartstrings beautifully just wanting and waiting for more.
Starting off the movie with a beautiful scene looking across a sunrise–filled lake, which it gives off
a comfortable, warm feeling to the viewers at home or in the theater. Then it pans out to an elder
Noah Calhoun (played by James Garner) taking his daily medicine in a nursing home. Third scene
shows an also elderly Allie Hamilton (Gena Rowlands) looking over the lake from her bedroom
window. A nurse is asking her several questions about how she is feeling and what she would like to
do that day. Allie doesn't give off any interest in doing anything the nurse is suggesting. Noah enters
her room with a notebook, offering to read to her. The nurse insists that Allie should do something
else but Allie quickly accepts Noah's offer and sits herself down to listen to him read from the
notebook that which she wrote many years ago. This sets up the opening of the classic love story,
"The Notebook."
The setting goes between a summer in South Carolina in the 1940's with the young version of the

Essay on California Space Heaters
California Space Heaters, Inc.
November 30, 2010
There is a fine line between how much safety a corporation should provide to the consumer
regarding its products vs. how much responsibility of safety should fall on the average consumer.
Take, for instance, the all too familiar McDonald's coffee episode. Does McDonald's have a
responsibility to its customers to ensure the coffee isn't hot enough to scald if spilled upon one's lap?
Or should the customer be held responsible for their own safety in regards to common sense
judgment? This is what California Space Heaters, Inc. (CSH) must consider when deciding exactly
which products to launch. Kerosene heaters are often times used in shops and garages as well as
inside homes. They ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A corporation that has been given such estimates from its engineering department has a
responsibility to implement a safety device. Electric start is the single most important option that
should be incorporated on all models for safety reasons. The profile of users in a shop or garage
setting differs greatly from users in a home. Users in a shop or garage are more likely to be
mechanically inclined. Additionally, safety features are arguably more important in a home than in a
shop or garage. In a home, the heater is typically closer to combustibles, including furniture,
curtains, and carpet. Due to these variables, CSH should market an indoor/outdoor heater and an
outdoor only heater. The only necessary option on the outdoor heater is the electric start, as
previously discussed. A shop or garage user will likely be more mechanically inclined and able to
adjust the wick accurately. A thermostat shouldn't be needed because the unit will less likely be near
combustibles. Overheating due to flare–ups will not be as big of an issue either because of the
surroundings, not to mention the user is more likely to notice flare–ups because the unit will only be
operating when he or she is in the garage or shop, in most cases. A removable tank would also not be
necessary since fill–up is easier outdoors.
On the other hand, the indoor/outdoor heater should have three options incorporated on the base
model. The first is the electric start option, as mentioned

[Institute's Name] Muriel Spark's 'The Girls of Slender Means' Analysis
Introduction
Muriel Sparks is an author of great vision and ambition. She got her work 'The Girls of Slender
Means' published in 1963, when she was in her forties. The book was appreciated by all on its best
contributions; the book has literary features; irony, fun, penetrating, unsettling and extremely
beautiful theme that people found undeniably striking.
Discussion
Spark witnessed the disturbing propaganda of wartime, experiencing gloomy delicacies and
powerful language of the time inaction. Her writing shows reflection of human aptitudes and this is
the reason regarded by critics that it has ability to change things into fiction from reality. Every word
in novel is best placed, to save, or to kill.
Muriel Spark's work is appreciated as appealing to readers and described best as "clever and
elegant." According to Waugh, novels of Spark are extraordinarily various, diverse in themes and all
novels are fused with each other by a tone or a voice. However, some of her novel may appear
bizarre and at times emblematic to readers, while some are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

the irony of affirmations of order. The royal family was welcomed by crowd, they were applauded

are disordered festivities, and the rules are abandoned in such occasions, and therefore are luminal.

The Book ' The Notebook '
CHARACTERS There are nine characters in The Notebook, some mentioned only once in
conversation, but some used all the way through out the story. One of the main characters is Noah
Calhoun, the narrator of the story. He is very mellow, but has held onto Allie his entire life. It is hard
for Noah to seem to forget people and tends to let his built up depression out through poetry, crafts,
or outdoor activities. He is enamored with Allie and has been since they were young adults. After
re–encountering her after not having spoken nor written to her in fourteen years, they fall madly
back in love and grow old together. Noah is a very vivid character, especially his aging process and
his hair turning from brown to grey. Noah is realistic not only because of his looks being described,
but more because of his traits: his inability to forget and his mellow personality. The other main
character, Allie Nelson, is the woman that Noah is effectuated by. She has a hard time following her
heart and wants to be accepted socially. She is a pleaser and never wants to let people down so she
constantly debates with her feelings and bargains with her conscience. She comes from a wealthy

Book Review Of The Notebook By Nicholas Sparks
I read The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks, a 250 page novel published on October 1, 1996. This book
can be classified as realistic fiction, but is considered to be a romance novel due to the heart pulling
plot line of two star–crossed lovers. My attention was caught quickly when I saw this book, because
I had watched the movie with my girlfriend which motivated me to read it. It took me about three
days to read behind Mrs. Kosters desk, each day during the same week; it was a quick and easy read.
This work was completely fiction; however, Sparks was inspired by his wife's beloved grandparents.
They had spent over sixty years together, with their story being shared with Sparks and his wife,
inspiration from their love made its way into the book. Noah comes back, after fighting in World
War ll, to his home in New Bern, Carolina. Where he spends his days building a house to distract
himself from remencising on a girl he fell in love with over a summer shared together. Allie, who is
about to get married, stumbles upon a newspaper with Noah on it; curiousity gets the best of her and
she decides to visit him. Both have been separated for fourteen years due to social class, with Allie
coming from a wealthy family, and Noah who worked at a lumberyard. Reuniting brings out a tidal
wave of emotions and memories that have been long locked away from both of them, with Noah
being in bewilderment and saying "I still can't believe it's you. How did you find me?" (Sparks 39).

Technology In The Movie Wall-E
As we begin to explore the world of technology, we must be careful that we don't get too dependent
on what it can do for us. We cannot forget that technology can change the way people think, feel,
and can prevent them from daily activities. In the movie Wall–E, it gives you a glimpse of what can
happen if you don't help take care of the earth, and depend too much on technology. Wall–E gives us
a look at a few Dystopian categories such as environmental, political, psychological, and
technological; making the film feel as if this is what has already started to happen on earth today.
The story begins with what is shown to be an apocalyptic time. Humans have completely destroyed
the earth to the point that it becomes uninhabitable due to human waste. The animators had a way of
making them feel as if they were in this cloudy, dungy, pile of garbage. The city skyscrapers were
literally made out of the garbage. When the wind blew, a cloud of dust was what they got instead.

The Notebook Directed By Nick Cassavetes
"It was an improbable romance. He was a country boy. She was from the city. She had the world at
her feet, while he didn't have two dimes to rub together." In the 2004 movie the Notebook directed
by Nick Cassavetes we see an unlikely romance between a rich city girl, Allie Hamilton (Rachel
McAdams), and a poor country boy Noah Calhoun (Ryan Gosling). Based on the bestselling book
by Nicholas Sparks, the Notebook shows us how relationships change throughout different stages of
our lives but love will never diminish.
The film begins with a scene at a nursing home, where see an old man, Duke, reading to a woman,
Allie, whose memory has started to slip due to Alzheimer 's. He pulls an old notebook and in a
flashback we are taken to Seabrook Island, North Carolina in the 1940's. This is where we meet
Noah Calhoun a dirt poor local kid who is played by Ryan Gosling. Gosling, who is undeniably one
of the most popular actors of our generation, does an outstanding job portraying his character. His
ease and confidence makes us believe he was made to play this role. When he tells Allie that
relationships are something you don't give up on "So it 's not gonna be easy. It 's going to be really
hard; we 're gonna have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want you. I want
all of you, forever, every day. You and me" He speaks with such great passion and emotion that it
tugs at our heartstrings. The movie then continues to a carnival where Noah first sees Allie and

The Theme Of Courage In Nicholas Sparks's 'Safe Haven'
"It was him, looming over them, a gun at his side. Kevin" (Sparks 309). A battered wife, Katie, runs
away to a small town in North Carolina called Southport, in order to start a new life. She is a
waitress at a local restaurant there, but keeps a low profile. She soon meets a widower named Alex
and his children, and finally begins to feel safe. Just as Katie has moved on, her abusive husband,
Kevin, a detective for the Boston Police Department, finds her after months of searching. Now, the
past is no longer in the past. In his 2010 novel Safe Haven, Nicholas Sparks uses the theme of
courage to demonstrate that a person has to do what is ultimately best for them and what it takes to
survive, reinforcing this theme by building Katie's complex background and illustrating her fight for
freedom.
Katie shows courage by leaving her husband, despite how scared she was to finally do it after three
years of torture. She explains her feelings and experiences to her only friend in Southport named Jo.
Katie narrated her story in third–person, as if it were a friend who went through the horror, "My
friend is scared all the time" (Sparks 66). Jo replied, "That's what courage is. If she weren't scared,
she wouldn't need courage in the first place. I admire what she did" (Sparks 67). I believe Sparks
made it very clear that Jo's character is the voice of wisdom in the story because she always seems
to have the right answer. Continuing on, Katie knew she could not survive staying with Kevin,

The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Muriel Spark Essay
The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Muriel Spark
Miss Brodie fails to be a good teacher because she teaches on her own accord, gives her students
wrong impressions, and displays unprofessional behavior towards her staff and pupils.
As a schoolteacher in Edinburgh during the 1930's there were many rules and regulations that
teachers had to adhere to in order to successfully feed the minds of their young pupils.
Schoolteachers had more of a responsibility during this period than today because school was the
only source of information and education that people could receive. Due to this fact, the government

She chose to ignore these mandatory guidelines and pursued her own fashion and material when
instructing her students. This is why Miss Jean Brodie fails to be a decent teacher.
Miss Jean Brodie is a very self–centered person who likes to talk about herself to her class. She
mentions to her class on several occasions that she is in the prime of her life and that it is the best
time of ones life. Although she states that 'ones prime is when they are born' , Miss Brodie
contradicts this statement and leads her class to believe that life is no good until one reaches their
prime, which is at her age. This is misleading for the students who are at a susceptible age. By
giving this wrong impression her students are left to believe that they have nothing to look forward
to until they reach Miss Brodie's age.
Another example of how Miss Brodie gives her student the wrong impression was her repetitive
attacks on Miss MacKay. It was obvious the two teachers did not like one another, which is bound to
happen in any profession. However, advertising this dislike to her classroom only leads to problems.
The first time that this occurs is when Miss Brodie was leading here class out to the elm tree for the
'imaginary' history lesson. On the way outside she stops her class in front of Miss MacKay's office,
points to a picture of the old Prime

What Is The Similarities Between The Longest Ride And The...
Imagine spending your free time sobbing to a terribly sad movie... doesn't sound too great does it?
Yet somehow Nicholas Sparks seems to captivate audiences with his movies that do just that. Sparks
has written countless books that have then been recreated into movies. The Notebook and The
Longest Ride are just two of his popular movies. While Sparks is the author of both books, this is
not the only similarity; these movies are romantic, go from present day to past, and show how much
tragedy affects families. Overall The Longest Ride is about Luke, a bull rider (Scott Eastwood), and
Sophia, an art major at college (Britt Robertson). Luke and Sophia meet at a rodeo, and began to fall
in love. While driving home from a date, they encounter an ... Show more content on

Each is about a couple that falls in love, and how different situations break them apart, but
ultimately they come back to each other. While the movies are romances, there are also numerous
romantic gestures these couples share. One of which is letter writing. In The Longest Ride, letters
were shared between Ira and Ruth to communicate while Ira was at war. In The Notebook, Noah
wrote Allie a letter everyday for 365 days while he was also at the war. In both of these movies the
letters were one of the biggest details to the plot, along with both men going to WWII. Ultimately
both couples loving each other unconditionally and eventually finding their ways back to each other
through writing letters, and past the hardship of the war, is what makes them so much alike. While
these movies are 10 years apart, they are much closer than that in similarity. Like mentioned earlier,
while Sophia reads Ira the letters the viewer sees what the letter is about and what happened on that
day during the letter. The Notebook is similar in that while Duke (Old Noah) is reading the old
letters and story to Allie, she remembers what happened that day and the viewer is taken to the past.
This is such a huge similarity because generally movies are all in the present, but both of these take
us through a journey of both the present and the

"All characters come from people I know, but after the initial inspiration, I tend to modify the
characters so they fit with the story" said Nicholas sparks who is known for many romance novels.
In his writing he uses experiences and people that he is inspired by and puts them in a form of novel
that catches the audience's attention. After taking a look at the life and writing of Nicholas Sparks, it
is apparent that this writer deserves appreciation as a profound American author. With challenges
and achievements Nicholas Sparks has written some of the best romance novels.
Nicholas Sparks and his parents never thought he would grow up to become a famous author. He
was born on December 31st 1965 to Patrick Michael and Emma Marie Sparks ("Nicholas Sparks

Fair Oaks, California. In 1974 Nicholas Sparks graduated from Belle Vista High School. "After he

The Notebook Comparison
Firstly, the movie "the notebook" was written by Nicolas Sparks, that is an stunning writer.
The movie it's about summer love and when summer ends all turn it so bad, because the plan it's all
it's over when summer ends. But it's too late because the main characters are completely in love.
To start, the main characters of the movie are Allie and Noah. Allie came to Seabrook, where Noah
live. They met in a carnival and star a summer love. It's important to say that Allie was a rich girl
and Noah was a lumberman, so their family stands between his relationship. Simultaneously, the
family of Allie decide to leave Seabrook. In addition, Noah and Allie discuss the night before. After
that Noah wrote a lot of cards but Allie never receive them.

amazing author and has written many best sellers. Some like the The Notebook and Dear John have

This passion for loves runs wild in all of his books, from "The Notebook" with Noah and Allie, to
"The Choice" with Travis and Gabby. Another theme that is shown in Sparks' writing is the theme of
having someone close to you die. Not all of his books have this in the story line, in fact neither of
the two books that I chose to read for this assignment had one of the main characters die. But in
many of his other stories one of the main character dies. Like Allie dies in The Notebook, and Jamie
ends up dying in A Walk to Remember. Even though it is extremely difficult to cope with their
deaths the other main characters get through it, at their own pace of course. The main characters of
his novels are seldom based on real people in Sparks' life. Having Jamie die was based on how his
sister died from cancer, which is also how Jamie dies. In addition to that his mother died, and it just
so happens that Allie from The Notebook dies. Even though there was a huge age gap for the ages
that they died there is still common characteristics that the story, and real life have in common. Not
to mention that his brother Micah (who didn't die and is his only living family

Alzheimer's is the most common cause of dementia, and is a progressive disease that destroys the
memory and other important mental functions. According to alz.org "The most common early
symptom of Alzheimer's is difficulty remembering newly learned information because Alzheimer's
changes typically begin in the part of the brain that affects learning. As Alzheimer's advances
through the brain it leads to increasingly severe symptoms, including disorientation, mood and
behavior changes; deepening confusion about events, time and place; unfounded suspicions about
family, friends and professional caregivers; more serious memory loss and behavior changes; and
difficulty speaking, swallowing and walking." With that being said, Ally would have been less likely
to remember all of the staff members that worked with her and the newly formed memories made
with them, and more likely to remember things like Noah or how they met. This is one area of the

Miss Brodie felt she did this for the best:
"I'm putting old heads on new shoulders." (P8)
Miss Brodie had no children of her own and therefore focused her dedication towards her set of
schoolgirls. Miss Brodie knew that she was past her 'prime', though she continually insisted that she
be in her 'prime', and so in a sense she felt the need to 'feed' off the girls to gain her youth back. She
wanted to vicariously relive her youth through her girls.
Miss Brodie had a great influence over her set of girl and it was because of this that girls showed
great loyalty to Miss Brodie, much to the dislike of the head mistress Miss Mackay who was
desperate to find an excuse to dismiss Miss Brodie:
"I am happy to see you are devoted to Miss Brodie. Your loyalty is due to the school rather than to
any one individual." (P66)
Miss Brodie could be seen as an authoritarian fascist leader and her set as the loyal followers. This is
emphasised through the continual mention of various dictators such as Hitler and Mussoline:

together for her need and in another was marching along." (P31)

Why I Am N Ē
Am–nē–zha The sun was ascending so fast on the horizon when Aika and I blundered through the
market as we way back from jogging on the Kuala Lumpur street. The aroma of coffee permeated
the market 's air. As we were walking, I stopped after identifying some fascinating small portrait
sneaking at the corner of a chair. "Wait, I need to see something," I beamed to Aika. She whipped
her head and when I looked, shooting one last glance toward her, she shooed me with her right hand
in the air. Then, she indicated she was going to grab some cappuccino from Starbuck located in the
middle of the street. I gave her the signal and diverted my attention on the miniature. I edged slowly
into the chair and I crouched down to pick the portrait, to get a better look. My eyes irresistibly draw
to the crack at the center of the portrait. I put it back, with my brown eyes lit up at the price tag, who
had introduced into shrinking cost. I walked away from the stall and as I rambled down the street to

around it and a dusty plastic flower at the center. I took a step to pick it up on the highest shelf. Then
my heart began to hammer in my ribcage, as I slid the flower on the right side, eyes widened to the

The Notebook Ethos
Behind Great Love Lies A Great Story Nicholas Sparks' tragic love story The Notebook is a
touching story about two people and their eternal passion of true love which is beautifully portrayed
by Nick Cassavetes in the film. Pathos is used in the film to draw members of the audience to the
characters and influence them to feel passionate towards the characters. Cassavetes does this by
making the movie more dramatic than the book. The director effectively uses pathos to add drama in
The Notebook which makes the movie's audience more emotionally connected to the story. The plot
is evidently more climatic as the main events are exaggerated in the film. The feel of the overall
screenplay is distinctive than the novel. The characters also play ... Show more content on

The different descriptions and dialogues of Allie and Noah are what bring the change into their
relationship. In the novel, Noah is described as a quiet and shy poet. "Although he was quiet, years
of heavy lifting at the lumberyard helped him excel in sports, ... An occasional person found him
arrogant; most simply figured he had grown up a bit faster than everyone else." (Sparks 24) Whereas
in the film, Noah is very outgoing and confident. He does not stop until he gets what he wants. This
is evident when Noah climbs on the ferris wheel and hangs from the bars at the carnival where he
asks Allie to go out with him. She refuses and he blackmails her by making her think that he will fall
down from such a height. Allie becomes frightened and agrees to go out with him, little did she
know that this was his plan all along. The change in Noah's description changes his personality and
the way the audience views him as an individual character. Allie and Noah's tone of dialogues are
also changed to make them seem more modern. In the book, Allie agrees to spend time with Noah
without any objection. "...the four of them stayed at the festival until the crowds were thin and
everything closed up for the night. They met the following day, and the day after that, and they soon
became inseparable." (Sparks 13) This circumstance would not exist in today's society as females
have their personal preferences. This is seen in the movie when Allie plays 'hard to get' and rejects
Noah several times when he reminds her of the date. "'What are you doing tonight?' ... 'Why?' 'Why?
Our date.' 'What date?' 'The date that you agreed to.' 'No!' 'Yes, you did. You promised, and you
swore it.' 'Well, I guess I changed my mind.' ... 'Come on, one date. What's it gonna hurt?' 'Umm..I

CHANGE, TRANSITION, AND LOSS FILM REVIEW 2
Summary
"The Notebook" (2004), is a deeply powerful and moving film about the undying love between a
man and woman through the telling of their story of love and loss. Duke, a resident in a nursing
home reads to a fellow resident, an old woman with Alzheimer's, the love story of Allie Hamilton
and Noah Calhoun. Viewers later learn that the woman with Alzheimer's is Allie and that Duke is
Noah. Prior to the advancement of her illness, Allie had written their love story in a notebook and
told Noah to read it to her so that she would "keep coming back to him". Through the sharing of
their personal experiences of love and grief along with the experiences of other characters, viewers
are able to critically reflect on their own life experiences of love and loss and the different ways in

Automotive Ignition Systems
Ignition Systems:
New and Old
Jeff Tuttle
Period 3

Ignitions systems in motor vehicles have evolved in the past thirty years. Points was a simple
concept but was not reliable and needed adjustment and replacement of components seemed
constant. Today a magnetic sensor relays a signal to the computer which in turn sends the voltage to
the selected cylinder to ignite the fuel/air mixture. There are not mechanical parts to fail or become
corroded and brittle. There are many different parts to an ignition system. These parts differ between
modern and old ignition systems. There is a coil. Sometimes one coil provides the increased voltage
to the distributor or there is no distributor at all and each cylinder has its own ... Show more content

When the ignition switch is placed in the "start" position, the solenoid windings are energized and
the resulting shift lever movement causes the drive pinion gear to engage the flywheel ring gear, and
cranking takes place. When the engine starts, an overrunning clutch (part of the drive assembly)
protects the armature from too much speed until the switch is opened. At this time, a return spring
causes the pinion gear to disengage from the flywheel.
The spark plug wire carries 20,000 or more volts from the distributor cap to the spark plug. Spark
plug wires are made of various layers of materials. The fiber core, inside the spark plug wire carries
the high voltage. The older design of spark plug wires used a metallic wire to carry the high voltage.
This caused electrical interference with the radio and TV reception. Some spark plug wires have a
locking connection at the distributor cap. The distributor cap must first be removed and the
terminals be squeezed together, and then the spark plug wire can be removed from the distributor
cap. To reduce interference with radio and TV reception, ignition systems are provided with
resistance in the secondary circuit. Resistor spark plugs or special resistor type ignition cable may be
used. To work effectively in modern ignition systems, it is important that the resistor ignition cable
is capable of producing a specifically designed resistance. The cable must also have enough
insulation so that

Definition Of Problem For Sales Department

  • 1. Definition Of Problem For Sales Department Definition of Problem The problem presented within this particular situation centers around the high number of sales for the next year being predicted by the sales department. The owners of the company, Mr. Sparks and Ms. Cash, based on their experiences, believe these numbers to be unrealistic and want more accurate numbers to be calculated. However, upon interviewing those within the sales department, it is found they see no problem in their numbers and are quick to provide reasons for them. They exhibit a very high level of confidence in their ability to deliver. Lastly, when confronted with data such as lost accounts, they are quick to push the negativity onto other departments, taking no blame for any failures. Concepts that Address the Problem –Over Confidence– The next year's projections by the sales team are considered by Mr. Sparks and Ms. Cash to be high. They do not agree with the numbers because of their experiences and data known by them. To correct this issue the reasoning by the sales team must be understood. The concept of Over Confidence (Ricciardi, 2000) entails the manner in which humans often think more of themselves or their own abilities than what is realistic. This describes the overconfidence of the sales people and their belief that they will achieve the projected lofty goals. Furthermore, as the sales people are quick to dismiss the loss of accounts the previous year, their over confidence and failure to admit their own failures, leads ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

And their names are Noah and Allie; he gives us a glimpse into their lives by sharing their stories. They express their commitment, devotion, and unwavering love for one another throughout this movie. • 9. True Love In Noah Calhoun's The Notebook People say that they are "in love" or that that they think they have found "the one" all of the time. Those words have almost become so easy to use but unfortunately it seems like no one really knows the true meaning of them anymore. So what is love? What is true love? As said in The Notebook, "The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more; that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds."– Noah Calhoun or in Dear John when John says, "and when her lips met mine, I knew that I could to be a hundred and visit every country in the world, but nothing would ever compare to the single moment when I first kissed the girl of my dreams and knew that my love would last forever" –John. Both of those quotes are so powerful and so passionate and both of the men saying them to be so in love with their girls. But was either of these situations true love? Most people would say yes and that is probably why both films went on to be two of the most famous and most favorable love films of our time. But other than their amazing story lines and heart throbbing love stories and slight differences, one thing that is so amazing is just how similar their stories really are. In the Notebook a man by the name of Duke reads a story to a lady who has Alzheimer's and has lost most of her memory. The story is about an upper class seventeen year–old named Allie Hamilton who is spending her summer in Seabrook, South Carolina with her family. There is a local ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Nursing is a very important factor involved in this movie and nursing is defined as, "the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, facilitation of healing, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations" (ANA). The theme of love impacts the concept of nursing and allows the viewers to see what values and beliefs are truly important throughout the movie. In the movie, "The Notebook," Nicholas Sparks shows the importance of love in all aspects of life. Throughout the movie, Sparks shows Noah's struggle to regain Allie's memories, while still loving her unconditionally. Sparks emphasizes the endless opportunities people would do for love, just like Noah did for Allie every day. The theme of the power of love is essential in this movie. Although Allie is diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and loses her memory, Noah still fights to regain her memory and allow her to love him again. Their unconditional love is so powerful that Alzheimer's cannot take away everything that they had together. The book portrays every trait in a guy or girl would desire to have in a significant other. According to Nicolas Sparks, "it is a celebration of how passion can be ageless and timeless, tales that moves us to laughter and tears and makes us believe in true love all over again". The Notebook was on the New York Times best–seller list within the very first week of release. It spent over a year as a hardcover best seller. Theresa Park, Nicolas Sparks' agent, discovered the book after going through her slush pile, without hesitation, Park offered to represent him. In 1995, one year later, Sparks agent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another strength in this movie was the plot. Without a good plot, there would be no point to the movie. The last and final strength in "The Notebook" is emotion. This film takes one through every motion imaginable. As for examples, when Allie and Noah split, the emotional response automatically takes a tole on someone. It's as if, your actually apart of the movie. In the book, Allison and Noah met in 1932, at the time Allison was 15 and Noah was 17. But in the movie, they met in the year of 1940, where they both were around the same age of 17. According to Cassavetes, (unsolved), this movie was filmed in South Carolina because of its 1040's look. Allison and Noah meet at a carnival, where Allison is very fond of Noah. With love in the air, they spent the rest of the night together until the carnival was over. However, in the movie, Noah became infatuated with Allison, and went to the extreme of insanity by jumping on the ferry's wheel to ask her out. Noah plays remarkable in both and just makes the audience fall in love with his character. With most summer romances follows heartache. As for Noah and Allison, their fairytale love weren't excluded. When the summer ended, Allison had to return back home, leaving Noah behind. With heartache comes conflict, according to the movie, Allison and Noah got into a huge fight before she left, which ultimately lead them regretting the whole disagreement. You and me...everyday." Sound familiar? The lovers are named Allie Hamilton and Noah Calhoun, also known as Duke. As young people, these characters are played by Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling. These actors portray first loves and heartbreak that tugs on your heartstrings beautifully just wanting and waiting for more. Starting off the movie with a beautiful scene looking across a sunrise–filled lake, which it gives off a comfortable, warm feeling to the viewers at home or in the theater. Then it pans out to an elder Noah Calhoun (played by James Garner) taking his daily medicine in a nursing home. A nurse is asking her several questions about how she is feeling and what she would like to do that day. Allie doesn't give off any interest in doing anything the nurse is suggesting. Noah enters her room with a notebook, offering to read to her. • 23. Essay on California Space Heaters California Space Heaters, Inc. November 30, 2010 There is a fine line between how much safety a corporation should provide to the consumer regarding its products vs. how much responsibility of safety should fall on the average consumer. Take, for instance, the all too familiar McDonald's coffee episode. Does McDonald's have a responsibility to its customers to ensure the coffee isn't hot enough to scald if spilled upon one's lap? Or should the customer be held responsible for their own safety in regards to common sense judgment? This is what California Space Heaters, Inc. (CSH) must consider when deciding exactly which products to launch. Kerosene heaters are often times used in shops and garages as well as inside homes. They ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A corporation that has been given such estimates from its engineering department has a responsibility to implement a safety device. Electric start is the single most important option that should be incorporated on all models for safety reasons. The profile of users in a shop or garage setting differs greatly from users in a home. Users in a shop or garage are more likely to be mechanically inclined. Additionally, safety features are arguably more important in a home than in a shop or garage. In a home, the heater is typically closer to combustibles, including furniture, curtains, and carpet. Due to these variables, CSH should market an indoor/outdoor heater and an outdoor only heater. The only necessary option on the outdoor heater is the electric start, as previously discussed. A shop or garage user will likely be more mechanically inclined and able to adjust the wick accurately. A thermostat shouldn't be needed because the unit will less likely be near combustibles. Overheating due to flare–ups will not be as big of an issue either because of the surroundings, not to mention the user is more likely to notice flare–ups because the unit will only be operating when he or she is in the garage or shop, in most cases. A removable tank would also not be necessary since fill–up is easier outdoors. On the other hand, the indoor/outdoor heater should have three options incorporated on the base model. The first is the electric start option, as mentioned ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 31. Book Review Of The Notebook By Nicholas Sparks I read The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks, a 250 page novel published on October 1, 1996. This book can be classified as realistic fiction, but is considered to be a romance novel due to the heart pulling plot line of two star–crossed lovers. My attention was caught quickly when I saw this book, because I had watched the movie with my girlfriend which motivated me to read it. It took me about three days to read behind Mrs. Kosters desk, each day during the same week; it was a quick and easy read. This work was completely fiction; however, Sparks was inspired by his wife's beloved grandparents. They had spent over sixty years together, with their story being shared with Sparks and his wife, inspiration from their love made its way into the book. Noah comes back, after fighting in World War ll, to his home in New Bern, Carolina. Where he spends his days building a house to distract himself from remencising on a girl he fell in love with over a summer shared together. Allie, who is about to get married, stumbles upon a newspaper with Noah on it; curiousity gets the best of her and she decides to visit him. Both have been separated for fourteen years due to social class, with Allie coming from a wealthy family, and Noah who worked at a lumberyard. Reuniting brings out a tidal wave of emotions and memories that have been long locked away from both of them, with Noah being in bewilderment and saying "I still can't believe it's you. In the 2004 movie the Notebook directed by Nick Cassavetes we see an unlikely romance between a rich city girl, Allie Hamilton (Rachel McAdams), and a poor country boy Noah Calhoun (Ryan Gosling). Based on the bestselling book by Nicholas Sparks, the Notebook shows us how relationships change throughout different stages of our lives but love will never diminish. The film begins with a scene at a nursing home, where see an old man, Duke, reading to a woman, Allie, whose memory has started to slip due to Alzheimer 's. He pulls an old notebook and in a flashback we are taken to Seabrook Island, North Carolina in the 1940's. This is where we meet Noah Calhoun a dirt poor local kid who is played by Ryan Gosling. Gosling, who is undeniably one of the most popular actors of our generation, does an outstanding job portraying his character. His ease and confidence makes us believe he was made to play this role. When he tells Allie that relationships are something you don't give up on "So it 's not gonna be easy. • 37. The Theme Of Courage In Nicholas Sparks's 'Safe Haven' "It was him, looming over them, a gun at his side. Kevin" (Sparks 309). A battered wife, Katie, runs away to a small town in North Carolina called Southport, in order to start a new life. She is a waitress at a local restaurant there, but keeps a low profile. She soon meets a widower named Alex and his children, and finally begins to feel safe. Just as Katie has moved on, her abusive husband, Kevin, a detective for the Boston Police Department, finds her after months of searching. Now, the past is no longer in the past. In his 2010 novel Safe Haven, Nicholas Sparks uses the theme of courage to demonstrate that a person has to do what is ultimately best for them and what it takes to survive, reinforcing this theme by building Katie's complex background and illustrating her fight for freedom. Katie shows courage by leaving her husband, despite how scared she was to finally do it after three years of torture. She explains her feelings and experiences to her only friend in Southport named Jo. Katie narrated her story in third–person, as if it were a friend who went through the horror, "My friend is scared all the time" (Sparks 66). Jo replied, "That's what courage is. If she weren't scared, she wouldn't need courage in the first place. I admire what she did" (Sparks 67). I believe Sparks made it very clear that Jo's character is the voice of wisdom in the story because she always seems to have the right answer. • 39. The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Muriel Spark Essay The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Muriel Spark Miss Brodie fails to be a good teacher because she teaches on her own accord, gives her students wrong impressions, and displays unprofessional behavior towards her staff and pupils. As a schoolteacher in Edinburgh during the 1930's there were many rules and regulations that teachers had to adhere to in order to successfully feed the minds of their young pupils. Schoolteachers had more of a responsibility during this period than today because school was the only source of information and education that people could receive. Due to this fact, the government set strict policies and curriculums (and still do) that teachers must follow so that students could grow up to become well round ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She chose to ignore these mandatory guidelines and pursued her own fashion and material when instructing her students. This is why Miss Jean Brodie fails to be a decent teacher. Miss Jean Brodie is a very self–centered person who likes to talk about herself to her class. She mentions to her class on several occasions that she is in the prime of her life and that it is the best time of ones life. Although she states that 'ones prime is when they are born' , Miss Brodie contradicts this statement and leads her class to believe that life is no good until one reaches their prime, which is at her age. This is misleading for the students who are at a susceptible age. By giving this wrong impression her students are left to believe that they have nothing to look forward to until they reach Miss Brodie's age. Another example of how Miss Brodie gives her student the wrong impression was her repetitive attacks on Miss MacKay. It was obvious the two teachers did not like one another, which is bound to happen in any profession. However, advertising this dislike to her classroom only leads to problems. The first time that this occurs is when Miss Brodie was leading here class out to the elm tree for the 'imaginary' history lesson. Yet somehow Nicholas Sparks seems to captivate audiences with his movies that do just that. Sparks has written countless books that have then been recreated into movies. The Notebook and The Longest Ride are just two of his popular movies. While Sparks is the author of both books, this is not the only similarity; these movies are romantic, go from present day to past, and show how much tragedy affects families. Each is about a couple that falls in love, and how different situations break them apart, but ultimately they come back to each other. While the movies are romances, there are also numerous romantic gestures these couples share. One of which is letter writing. In The Longest Ride, letters were shared between Ira and Ruth to communicate while Ira was at war. In The Notebook, Noah wrote Allie a letter everyday for 365 days while he was also at the war. In both of these movies the letters were one of the biggest details to the plot, along with both men going to WWII. Ultimately both couples loving each other unconditionally and eventually finding their ways back to each other through writing letters, and past the hardship of the war, is what makes them so much alike. While these movies are 10 years apart, they are much closer than that in similarity. Like mentioned earlier, while Sophia reads Ira the letters the viewer sees what the letter is about and what happened on that day during the letter. The Notebook is similar in that while Duke (Old Noah) is reading the old letters and story to Allie, she remembers what happened that day and the viewer is taken to the past. The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie is a novel about a teacher's dedication to her pupils. It is also about loyalty and betrayal. The novel emphasises the effects of dedication, loyalty and betrayal within a small group of people and the way in which they are all intertwined. Miss Brodie knew that she was past her 'prime', though she continually insisted that she be in her 'prime', and so in a sense she felt the need to 'feed' off the girls to gain her youth back. She wanted to vicariously relive her youth through her girls. Miss Brodie had a great influence over her set of girl and it was because of this that girls showed great loyalty to Miss Brodie, much to the dislike of the head mistress Miss Mackay who was desperate to find an excuse to dismiss Miss Brodie: "I am happy to see you are devoted to Miss Brodie. Your loyalty is due to the school rather than to any one individual." (P66) Miss Brodie could be seen as an authoritarian fascist leader and her set as the loyal followers. This is emphasised through the continual mention of various dictators such as Hitler and Mussoline: "...the Brodie set was Miss Brodie's Fascisti, not to the naked eye, marching along, but all knit together for her need and in another was marching along." The aroma of coffee permeated the market 's air. As we were walking, I stopped after identifying some fascinating small portrait sneaking at the corner of a chair. "Wait, I need to see something," I beamed to Aika. She whipped her head and when I looked, shooting one last glance toward her, she shooed me with her right hand in the air. Then, she indicated she was going to grab some cappuccino from Starbuck located in the middle of the street. I gave her the signal and diverted my attention on the miniature. I edged slowly into the chair and I crouched down to pick the portrait, to get a better look. My eyes irresistibly draw to the crack at the center of the portrait. I put it back, with my brown eyes lit up at the price tag, who had introduced into shrinking cost. I walked away from the stall and as I rambled down the street to rejoin Aika. I saw a diary located on the sidewalk. It was bounded by brown paper, twine wrapped around it and a dusty plastic flower at the center. I took a step to pick it up on the highest shelf. Then my heart began to hammer in my ribcage, as I slid the flower on the right side, eyes widened to the name written in swirly black ink, it was my name. The Notebook Ethos Behind Great Love Lies A Great Story Nicholas Sparks' tragic love story The Notebook is a touching story about two people and their eternal passion of true love which is beautifully portrayed by Nick Cassavetes in the film. Pathos is used in the film to draw members of the audience to the characters and influence them to feel passionate towards the characters. Cassavetes does this by making the movie more dramatic than the book. The director effectively uses pathos to add drama in The Notebook which makes the movie's audience more emotionally connected to the story. The plot is evidently more climatic as the main events are exaggerated in the film. The feel of the overall screenplay is distinctive than the novel. The characters also play ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The different descriptions and dialogues of Allie and Noah are what bring the change into their relationship. In the novel, Noah is described as a quiet and shy poet. "Although he was quiet, years of heavy lifting at the lumberyard helped him excel in sports, ... An occasional person found him arrogant; most simply figured he had grown up a bit faster than everyone else." (Sparks 24) Whereas in the film, Noah is very outgoing and confident. He does not stop until he gets what he wants. This is evident when Noah climbs on the ferris wheel and hangs from the bars at the carnival where he asks Allie to go out with him. She refuses and he blackmails her by making her think that he will fall down from such a height. Allie becomes frightened and agrees to go out with him, little did she know that this was his plan all along. The change in Noah's description changes his personality and the way the audience views him as an individual character. Allie and Noah's tone of dialogues are also changed to make them seem more modern. In the book, Allie agrees to spend time with Noah without any objection. "...the four of them stayed at the festival until the crowds were thin and everything closed up for the night. They met the following day, and the day after that, and they soon became inseparable." (Sparks 13) This circumstance would not exist in today's society as females have their personal preferences. This is seen in the movie when Allie plays 'hard to get' and rejects Noah several times when he reminds her of the date. "'What are you doing tonight?' ... 'Why?' 'Why? Our date.' 'What date?' 'The date that you agreed to.' 'No!' 'Yes, you did. You promised, and you swore it.' 'Well, I guess I changed my mind.' ... 'Come on, one date. What's it gonna hurt?' 'Umm..I don't think so.'" Duke, a resident in a nursing home reads to a fellow resident, an old woman with Alzheimer's, the love story of Allie Hamilton and Noah Calhoun. Viewers later learn that the woman with Alzheimer's is Allie and that Duke is Noah. Prior to the advancement of her illness, Allie had written their love story in a notebook and told Noah to read it to her so that she would "keep coming back to him". Through the sharing of their personal experiences of love and grief along with the experiences of other characters, viewers are able to critically reflect on their own life experiences of love and loss and the different ways in which these experiences have allowed change, growth, and transition in one's life. Losses/Types of Losses Presented One of the major types of losses presented in the film, "The Notebook" (2004) is that of ambiguous loss. Points was a simple concept but was not reliable and needed adjustment and replacement of components seemed constant. Today a magnetic sensor relays a signal to the computer which in turn sends the voltage to the selected cylinder to ignite the fuel/air mixture. There are not mechanical parts to fail or become corroded and brittle. There are many different parts to an ignition system. These parts differ between modern and old ignition systems. There is a coil. Sometimes one coil provides the increased voltage to the distributor or there is no distributor at all and each cylinder has its own ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When the ignition switch is placed in the "start" position, the solenoid windings are energized and the resulting shift lever movement causes the drive pinion gear to engage the flywheel ring gear, and cranking takes place. When the engine starts, an overrunning clutch (part of the drive assembly) protects the armature from too much speed until the switch is opened. At this time, a return spring causes the pinion gear to disengage from the flywheel. The spark plug wire carries 20,000 or more volts from the distributor cap to the spark plug. Spark plug wires are made of various layers of materials. The fiber core, inside the spark plug wire carries the high voltage. The older design of spark plug wires used a metallic wire to carry the high voltage. This caused electrical interference with the radio and TV reception. Some spark plug wires have a locking connection at the distributor cap. The distributor cap must first be removed and the terminals be squeezed together, and then the spark plug wire can be removed from the distributor cap. To reduce interference with radio and TV reception, ignition systems are provided with resistance in the secondary circuit. Resistor spark plugs or special resistor type ignition cable may be used. To work effectively in modern ignition systems, it is important that the resistor ignition cable is capable of producing a specifically designed resistance. The cable must also have enough insulation so that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
