2. Typewith.me is an online tool that allows you to collaborate on documents both synchronously and asynchronously with others. To begin, access the typewith.me site at www.typewith.me. The following screen appears:

3. To start a new document, click the Click to Create a New Document button.

4. This is the first window that you see when starting a new document.

5. The text area is where you type your document. This area is similar to other word processing tools, and includes basic editing tools such as bold, italicize, underline, etc. Main Area Editing Tools

6. To the right of the main window area is where you type your name. All other collaborators on your document will use this area to identify themselves as well. Type name here

7. Notice that the information that appears in the text area is color-coded, and corresponds with the colored box to the left of the author’s name. This is how you identify who’s content appears in the text area.

8. Click the Invite link or Share button located beneath your name to invite others to collaborate on your document. After the click, a box appears with the URL for your document. Invite link

9. You send the URL to the other collaborators on your project by clicking the “or send an email invitation…” link beneath the URL. You can add multiple email addresses, separated by a semi-colon. Invite others to collaborate Add multiple addresses

10. After the other collaborators access the document, they are prompted to type their name, and are assigned a color.

11. Collaborators can chat live, and you also have the option of closing the sidebar to view the full window if desired. Chat feature

12. Click Saved revisions to save your document. A complete history of all revisions is saved and reflected as a timeline. The Time Slider feature lets you go back and watch a recording of the document being worked on. The stars indicate points that have been saved.

13. Click options to delete the authorship colors, remove the line numbers or change the display font.

14. Click Import/Export to import text into your document or export your document in a variety of formats.
