After opening a document,you can access related commands on the View tab.

Word provides options to change a document’s onscreen appearance by viewing the document in
Full Screen, Web Layout, Outline, and Draft views

Opening an existing document

Words enable you to existing files in one of three forms: as an original document, as a copy of
document, or as a read-only document

Clicking the Open command in the File tab produces the Open dialog box.

Changing document view

Using show commands

Rulers: are measuring tools to align text, graphics, and other elements uses within a document.

Gridlines: provide a grid of vertical and horizontal lines that help you align graphics and other
objects in your document

Using Zoom

The zoom group of commands enables you to determine how many document pages Word display
within a single screen.

Page Width button expands your document to fit the width of the window

The Zoom slider can also be used to zoom in and out.

Navigating and searching through a document

Scroll bars: allow a user to move up or down or side to side within a document.

Searching within a document

Word´s Find a command is now located in the Navigation Pane in the Show group on the View tab
as well as on the Home tab in the Editing group. Either of these approaches will open the
Navigation Pane. By using the Navigation Pane, you can easily locate specific text, graphics.

Using the go to command to navigate a long document

The Go to command and Select Browse Object button provide ways to navigate through longer
documents quickly.

Selecting,replacing, and editing text

You can delete text in Word documents by pressing the Backspace key to delete characters to the
left of indentation point, pressing the Delete key to delete characters to the right of the insertion
point, pressing either the Delete key or Backspace key.

The multi-selection feature of Word enables you to select multiple you to select multiple text
items that are not adjacent.
