COVID19
WHAT IS COVID 19
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a
newly discovered coronavirus.
Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to
moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special
treatment. Older people, and those with underlying medical problems
like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and
cancer are more likely to develop serious illness
Symptoms of covid19
The most common symptoms of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) are fever, tiredness, and dry cough. Most
people (about 80%) recover from the disease without needing special treatment.
More rarely, the disease can be serious and even fatal. Older people, and people with other medical conditions
(such as asthma, diabetes, or heart disease), may be more vulnerable to becoming severely ill.
-Fever
-cough
-shortness of breath
When to seek Medical Attention
If you develop emergency warning signs for COVID-19 get medical attention immediately. Emergency
warning signs include*:
-Trouble breathing
-Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
-New confusion or inability to arouse
-Bluish lips or face
*. List is not all inclusive , further research is still in progress
Transmission
The COVID-19 virus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when
an infected person coughs or sneezes.
HUMAN TO HUMAN TRANSMISSION
VACCINE
At this time, there are no specific vaccines or treatments for COVID-19
Treatment of covid19
Till now there is no such cure is present for covid19 . People who are suffering from covid19 virus are
getting normal health care and are kept under isolation .
Best treatment of covid19 is precaution
- Wash hand with soap for at least 20 seconds many times
- Maintaining personal hygiene
- Maintain social distancing
- Self isolation
- Avoid crowd places
HANDWASH
five steps every time.
1. Wet your hands with clean, running water (warm
or cold), turn off the tap, and apply soap.
2. Lather your hands by rubbing them together with
the soap. Lather the backs of your hands, between
your fingers, and under your nails.
3. Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. Need a
timer? Hum the “Happy Birthday” song from
beginning to end twice.
4. Rinse your hands well under clean, running water.
5. Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry
them.
COUNTRIES EFFECTED
The 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), officially named as COVID-19 by the WHO, has
spread to more than 190+ countries including China prompting the WHO to declare the disease
as a global pandemic. Confirmed novel coronavirus cases have crossed 530,000+, while more
than 24,000 + deaths have been reported across the world as Europe becomes the new
epicentre of coronavirus. More than 80% of the global COVID-19 cases are currently outside
China.
TOP 5 EFFECTED COUNTRIES
U.S.A, Italy, china, Spain, Germany
Are the most affected countries from
Novel corona virus.
This top 5 countries are also top 10
tourist countries with million of tourist
visitors due to which this countries are
most effected.
There can be other reason also such
as time taken to fight covid19
GLOBAL EFFECT OF
COVID 19
Reported cases
Till now there are more than 590,000+ reported affected corona virus patient and
more than 27,000+ reported deaths, good news is over 130,000+ has been
recovered from the virus disease.
Market
According to the IMF, the world economy has fallen by 1.5% due to the current shutdown.
Investors have removed their investments from emerging markets. Also, the outlook
for global growth for 2020 is negative.
Stock market is also affected by covid19 , march 16 2020 U.S stock market Dow &] Jones
recorded historical drop down in a single day of -2997 points which is about 12.93% fall
Indian stock market BSE and NSE also witness drop , it has been estimated that IT sector
have the same significant effect which was seen in 2008 global financial crisis (GFC)
Food Security
Negative effects on food security
The disease is spreading quickly. This is no longer a regional issue—it is a global problem
calling for a global response.
We know that it will eventually retreat, but we don’t know how fast this will happen. We also
know that this shock is somewhat unusual as it affects significant elements of both food supply
and demand.
We risk a looming food crisis unless measures are taken fast to protect the most vulnerable,
keep global food supply chains alive and mitigate the pandemic’s impacts across the food
system.
Border closures, quarantines, and market, supply chain and trade disruptions could restrict
people’s access to sufficient/diverse and nutritious sources of food, especially in countries hit
hard by the virus or already affected by high levels of food insecurity.
But there is no need for the world to panic. Globally, there is enough food for everyone. Policy
makers around the world need to be careful not to repeat the mistakes made during the 2007-08
food crisis, and turn this health crisis into an entirely avoidable food crisis.
Who are at risk
Currently, some 820 million people around the world are experiencing chronic hunger – not
eating enough caloric energy to live normal lives. Of this, 113 million are coping with acute
severe insecurity – hunger so severe that it poses an immediate threat to their lives or
livelihoods and renders them reliant on external assistance to get by. These people can ill-
afford any potential further disruptions to their livelihoods or access to food that COVID-19
might bring.
Quarantines and panic during the Ebola Virus Disease outbreak in Sierra Leone (2014-2016),
for example, led to a spike in hunger and malnutrition. The suffering worsened as restrictions
on movement led both to labour shortages at harvest time even as other farmers were unable
to bring their produce to market.
Effect on Food Demand
The 2008 financial crisis showed us what can happen when reduced income and uncertainty make
people spend less and result in shrinking demand. Sales declined. So did production.
At the onset of the COVID-19 outbreak, there has been a significant increase in demand.
Food demand is generally inelastic and its effect on overall consumption will be likely limited,
although dietary patterns may alter. There is a possibility of a disproportionately larger decline in
meat consumption (as a result of fears – not science-based – that animals might be hosts of the
virus) and other higher-valued products like fruits and vegetables (which are likely to cause price
slumps).
Food demand in poorer countries is more linked to income, and, here, loss of income-earning
opportunities could impact on consumption.
Fear of contagion can translate in reduced visits to food markets, and we expect to see a shift in how
people buy and consume food - lower restaurant traffic, increased e-commerce deliveries (as
evidenced in China), and a rise in eating at home.
Positive Impact
Covid19
More than 160+ countries has been lockdown due to covid19 which result in less or no
vehicles on roads , factories has been shut down. People are locked in there homes .
Due to lockdown in various countries , nature seems to heel itself. Less carbon foot prints,
co emission falls results in clean air .
In many countries there is drastic fall in air pollution and water pollution
Implementation of work from home model :- many companies implemented work from
home model and its seems quite effective , resulting in less consumption of electricity and
fuels, resulting in less carbon emission.
Positive impacts from various part of world
- Pollution level in china decrease.
- No2 level in Italy decrease
- Canals in Venice became crystal clear due to reduce traffic
- China banned wildlife trade
- Dog and cat meat ban in south china.
After Effects
of
Covid19
After effects
Around 190+ countries affected from covid19, and lockdown in 100+ countries has lead to slow
down of economy .
Shutdown of factories , school, colleges, museum, malls, movie theatre, religious places
(Mosque, Temples, Churches).
What will happen when covid19 goes , from Spanish flu which was occurred in 1918 led to global
recession it was seen 30-40% decline in market. From various pandemic occurred in past there
are some assumptions in various sector.
Food Industry
Food industry will mostly affected after the covid19 . It has been already seen there is a decline in
animal food industry .
Many countries such as Africa are dependent on the imports when the covid19 will end there can
be a shortage of food , if food are available people have no money to buy the food.
Markets
Its seems the world will experience a global recession in history of mankind . Market will see
huge spike in demand and supply , where demand will be high and supply will be high.
Many financial person says that after the covid19 , very soon the economy will revive , stocks
which seems a drastic fall will rise at the same rate they have fall.
Pharmaceutical industry
After covid19 pharma industry will also see the impact , as per now all pharma industry are in
race to develop a vaccine for covid19 whomsoever able to develop the vaccine seems to be
world hero.
Cargo Industry
Cargo industry which seems to be halt due to covid19 will revive soon after the pandemic.
There will be great increase in demand in the world where all the demand will be carry in large
shipment by the cargo industry.
Suicide cases
After the covid19 many people will suicide due to economic crisis , where people does not have work
and money.
It seems suicidal cases will be of two types 1. depression (depression due to loss of family members).
2 Recession .
Nature
Environment which is on the healing process during covid19 pandemic . Healing process will end when
the lockdown will open and again humans will on the streets . Soon the industry & vehicles will hit the
ground which will lead to air pollution and water pollution both.
Animal industry :
As per now China has imposed banned on trade of wild life animals. In past many times china has
imposed banned on animals but later the banned is released or suspended as soon as the pandemic
will end.
Many articles suggested that due to increase in beef industry was a cause of fire in Amazon forest and
most of the pandemic cause due to eating of wild animals.
In past after the epidemic or pandemic animal industry revives, but now time has change and people
are more aware . When the covid19 ends we will see if history repeats itself or there will be a change in
History.
Thank you!!

  • 13. Negative effects on food security The disease is spreading quickly. This is no longer a regional issue—it is a global problem calling for a global response. We know that it will eventually retreat, but we don’t know how fast this will happen. We also know that this shock is somewhat unusual as it affects significant elements of both food supply and demand. We risk a looming food crisis unless measures are taken fast to protect the most vulnerable, keep global food supply chains alive and mitigate the pandemic’s impacts across the food system. Border closures, quarantines, and market, supply chain and trade disruptions could restrict people’s access to sufficient/diverse and nutritious sources of food, especially in countries hit hard by the virus or already affected by high levels of food insecurity. But there is no need for the world to panic. Globally, there is enough food for everyone. Policy makers around the world need to be careful not to repeat the mistakes made during the 2007-08 food crisis, and turn this health crisis into an entirely avoidable food crisis.
  • 14. Who are at risk Currently, some 820 million people around the world are experiencing chronic hunger – not eating enough caloric energy to live normal lives. Of this, 113 million are coping with acute severe insecurity – hunger so severe that it poses an immediate threat to their lives or livelihoods and renders them reliant on external assistance to get by. These people can ill- afford any potential further disruptions to their livelihoods or access to food that COVID-19 might bring. Quarantines and panic during the Ebola Virus Disease outbreak in Sierra Leone (2014-2016), for example, led to a spike in hunger and malnutrition. The suffering worsened as restrictions on movement led both to labour shortages at harvest time even as other farmers were unable to bring their produce to market.
  • 15. Effect on Food Demand The 2008 financial crisis showed us what can happen when reduced income and uncertainty make people spend less and result in shrinking demand. Sales declined. So did production. At the onset of the COVID-19 outbreak, there has been a significant increase in demand. Food demand is generally inelastic and its effect on overall consumption will be likely limited, although dietary patterns may alter. There is a possibility of a disproportionately larger decline in meat consumption (as a result of fears – not science-based – that animals might be hosts of the virus) and other higher-valued products like fruits and vegetables (which are likely to cause price slumps). Food demand in poorer countries is more linked to income, and, here, loss of income-earning opportunities could impact on consumption. Fear of contagion can translate in reduced visits to food markets, and we expect to see a shift in how people buy and consume food - lower restaurant traffic, increased e-commerce deliveries (as evidenced in China), and a rise in eating at home.
  • 17. More than 160+ countries has been lockdown due to covid19 which result in less or no vehicles on roads , factories has been shut down. People are locked in there homes . Due to lockdown in various countries , nature seems to heel itself. Less carbon foot prints, co emission falls results in clean air . In many countries there is drastic fall in air pollution and water pollution Implementation of work from home model :- many companies implemented work from home model and its seems quite effective , resulting in less consumption of electricity and fuels, resulting in less carbon emission. Positive impacts from various part of world - Pollution level in china decrease. - No2 level in Italy decrease - Canals in Venice became crystal clear due to reduce traffic - China banned wildlife trade - Dog and cat meat ban in south china.
  • 19. After effects Around 190+ countries affected from covid19, and lockdown in 100+ countries has lead to slow down of economy . Shutdown of factories , school, colleges, museum, malls, movie theatre, religious places (Mosque, Temples, Churches). What will happen when covid19 goes , from Spanish flu which was occurred in 1918 led to global recession it was seen 30-40% decline in market. From various pandemic occurred in past there are some assumptions in various sector. Food Industry Food industry will mostly affected after the covid19 . It has been already seen there is a decline in animal food industry . Many countries such as Africa are dependent on the imports when the covid19 will end there can be a shortage of food , if food are available people have no money to buy the food.
  • 20. Markets Its seems the world will experience a global recession in history of mankind . Market will see huge spike in demand and supply , where demand will be high and supply will be high. Many financial person says that after the covid19 , very soon the economy will revive , stocks which seems a drastic fall will rise at the same rate they have fall. Pharmaceutical industry After covid19 pharma industry will also see the impact , as per now all pharma industry are in race to develop a vaccine for covid19 whomsoever able to develop the vaccine seems to be world hero. Cargo Industry Cargo industry which seems to be halt due to covid19 will revive soon after the pandemic. • 21. Suicide cases After the covid19 many people will suicide due to economic crisis , where people does not have work and money. It seems suicidal cases will be of two types 1. depression (depression due to loss of family members). 2 Recession . Nature Environment which is on the healing process during covid19 pandemic . Healing process will end when the lockdown will open and again humans will on the streets . Soon the industry & vehicles will hit the ground which will lead to air pollution and water pollution both. Animal industry : As per now China has imposed banned on trade of wild life animals. In past many times china has imposed banned on animals but later the banned is released or suspended as soon as the pandemic will end. Many articles suggested that due to increase in beef industry was a cause of fire in Amazon forest and most of the pandemic cause due to eating of wild animals. In past after the epidemic or pandemic animal industry revives, but now time has change and people are more aware . When the covid19 ends we will see if history repeats itself or there will be a change in History.
