2. Introduction
A "solid waste" is defined as any discarded material that is abandoned by being
disposed of, burned or incinerated, recycled or considered "waste-like." A solid waste
can physically be a solid, liquid, semi-solid, or container of gaseous material. Solid
waste includes garbage, construction debris, commercial refuse, sludge from water
supply or waste treatment plants, or air pollution control facilities, and other
discarded materials. Solid waste can come from industrial, commercial, mining, or
agricultural operations, and from household and community activities.
7. Reduce management of steps
i)Use a reusable bottle/cup for beverages on-the-go.
ii)Use reusable grocery bages and not just for groceries
iii)keep one thing in mind ,purchase wisely and recycle
iv)Compost it
8. Reuse and recycle
recycling is when you take an item's materials and reprocess them to be used
elsewhere.
management of steps-
i)Take reusable bags to carry your purchases home.
ii)Purchase a reusable water bottle.
9. Compost
Composting is a controlled, aerobic (oxygen-required) process that converts
organic materials into a nutrient-rich soil amendment or mulch through natural
decomposition. The end product is compost – a dark, crumbly, earthy-smelling
material.
10. Management of steps-
We live in homes in everyday life
Many green vegetables and fruits are used for food and then the peels that come
out of them are thrown anywhere, so instead of doing this, if we throw away the
peels of many vegetables at home, then the place to throw them is fixed. curled and
thrown in the same place every day
11. Why need for management of waste
waste management is important as it saves the environment from the toxic effects
of inorganic and biodegradable element present in waste. Mismanagement of waste
can cause water contamination, soil erosion and air contamination. Waste can be
recycled if collected and managed efficiently.
