Overview
This individual will be responsible for all aspects of the operational oversight of the site contracting group.This includes, but is
not limited to, development of site contracting strategies to meet the needs of the organization, negotiation of
contracts/budgets, continued process improvement, and the identification and maintenance of resource needs of the group.
This person will display the highest level of personal commitment to the company, inspire the group while holding all
appropriately accountable, and will commit to the growth and health of site contracting and the company.
Foster an environment of continuous improvement through team management and collaboration with both internal and
external stakeholders.
Nurture the establishment and maintenance of relationships with site staff to contribute to the success of studies and the
overall effectiveness of the site activation and study start-up processes.
Ensure that expectations within the organization with regard to establishing site budgets and reporting, turnaround times,
contractual documentation and approach, payment schedules and other business practices are established and managed.
Activities
1. Provide leadership to the site contracting group, develop performance metrics, develop site contracting strategy, and
establish target execution dates
2. Oversee the negotiation and finalization of agreements and site budgets globally and when needed, lead difficult
contract/budget negotiations
3. Define resource needs and sourcing strategies based on expected fluctuations in workload
4. Evaluate changes in assigned clinical development programs/projects to determine the impact on contractual
agreements and drive quality and/or process improvement initiatives related to corporate and departmental strategic
plans
5. Through training and staff development, ensure the site contracting group is staffed with qualified and professional
personnel dedicated to the achievement of established business objectives
6. Build and maintain cross-functional relationships across the organization to support strategic planning and leadership
activities to assure joint success for project teams
Ability to:

4. Review, analyze, and report data so as to assist in building evidence-based site contracting strategies

Qualifications
Bachelor/MBA in business of life sciences
8+ years relevant experience in a pharmaceutical company/clinical research organization
Excellent interpersonal and leadership with demonstrated line management experience
Working knowledge of the drug development process
