Mrs Grindstaff Character Analysis
Mrs.Grindstaff is a secure base for not only all her students but other kindergardeners as well as her
previous students. Mrs.Grindstaff is a very popular teacher that is always available for students.
Students approach her constantly as mentioned in the book to communicate affection, share stories,
and and are happy to see her. From observing I could tell that many of her students have a secondary
attachment towards Ms.Grindstaff as she is there safe haven and as stated in the book by theorist
John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth it is perfectly normal. Her students feel very comfortable with
Ms.Grindstaff however not so much with other kindergarten teachers when they do rotations. While
I was observing I noticed students personality types as well as what type of learners they are. For
example I would consider Finnegan as a insecure learner. The book states " Insecure learners tend to
be stressed, easily excited and anxious" Finnegan stresses academically and gets excited easily with
small things. I would also describe her classroom B1 as equal mixture of resilient, overcontrolled
and undercontrolled personalities. A clear example of student who is undercontrolled would be
Shay. Shay is energetic, impulsive, active, assertive and finds it hard to concentrate. (6.2) He is
constantly rocking his chair, talking to other students, and constantly gets asked to refocus by
Mrs.Grindstaff. I believe all her students are good fit since Mrs.Grindstaff creates an environment

My Favorite Time Of Year
"I see the turning of a leaf dancing in an autumn sun, and brilliant shades of crimson glowing when
a day is done". This quote by Hazelmarie Mattie Elliott describes what I see in a day of fall. The
colorful leaves in the crisp cold air where the sun shines. My favorite time of year is Fall because of
all the Pumpkins, and celebrating Halloween and I get to celebrate thanksgiving.
The first reason why I like Fall so much is because of all the dazzling pumpkins. My favorite thing
about pumpkins is Going to the pumpkin patch and picking out the perfect pumpkin. For me the
perfect pumpkin would have a bold orange color, and it would be immense, with a perfect slender
look. Me and my family have been going to a pumpkin patch every year since I was about 2 years
old. During our time at the pumpkin patch my brothers and I always have a contest to see who can
find the biggest pumpkin in the field, nevertheless this time I won, the pumpkin I found weighed 15
pounds and was really fat with a nice sheer matte orange color. When I saw this pumpkin, it was like
a glowing spot light had appeared right over the pumpkin. Something very unusual my brother Alex
had found in the pumpkin patch was a s medium sized pumpkin that was kind of shaped like a
peanut, he had most definitely won the award for most weird pumpkin. Once we all came home with
our pumpkins, we started to carve our glorious pumpkins because we are so excited to see how they
would turn out. In like manner the design's that I

Mr. Pirzada's Cultural Identity
Throughout Lahiri's narrative, a Bengali man named Mr. Pirzada comes to eat with Lillia and her
family. As the story progresses, and Mr. Pirzada becomes especially significant to the little girl, and
his presence allows Lillia to realize and understand her cultural identity as an Indian American.
Pumpkins, leading up to and on the night of Halloween, are symbolic for cultural identity in this
short story.
Upon an unspecified day in October, Mr. Pirzada notices pumpkins distributed throughout Lillia's
neighborhood. Asking Lillia about the alien vegetables, Mr. Pirzada has never seen them before. The
next day, Lillia's mother buys a ten–pound pumpkin. When she tells Lillia to decorate it with a
marker, the girl refuses– Lillia wants to carve ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pirzada agrees with the girl; "Asking no questions, he walked into the kitchen, opened a drawer, and
returned, bearing a long serrated knife. He glanced at me for approval" (35). Instructing Mr. Pirzada
on how to create a "proper" jack–o'–lantern, Lillia observes that he is able to carve well. During the
creation process of the jack–o'–lantern, news concerning Dacca, Mr. Pirzada's hometown and the
dwelling of his family, appears on the television. Slipping from his hand, the knife makes a gash,
ruining the otherwise perfect pumpkin. When Mr. Pirzada carves the jack–o'–lantern, it is as if he is
simulating what it is like to be an average American, something which he is not, by creating a jack–
o'–lantern, a quintessential part of American Halloween. When he is reminded of his true identity, of
Dacca and of Bangladesh, his otherwise perfect pumpkin becomes blemished. This occurrence
represents how one cannot deny their identity, that it is a part of them which affects the way in
which they act and the feelings that they feel. For Lillia, a perfect jack–o'–lantern represents an
average American, and when a non–American screws up the carving process, this shows that one
cannot take up an identity which is not their

Bountiful Seasons: Nature's Wonders Essays
Bountiful Seasons Have you ever noticed how we're always ready at the end of summer for fall, or
how we're always ready at the end of winter for spring to arrive, yet we're never quite ready for
spring or fall to end. There is something special and intoxicating about spring and fall. Spring ushers
in a new beginning or a rebirth, while fall is the harvesting of our spring labors. Spring like fall is an
explosion of our senses, each very different, and we are able to take in these various bounties by
sight, smell, and taste. The wonder of spring is the awakening of new life. The previously barren
trees are bursting with fresh, glossy, green leaves. The recently thawed ground is blossoming with
bright red tulips, royal purple ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fall is the bounty of spring, the harvesting of our labors. The ravenous tree branches will begin
shedding themselves of their leaves, which will quietly tumble onto the quickly cooling ground. The
bright orange pumpkins, now ripe for the picking, hay bales stacked, and sunflowers in full bloom.
The red delicious and green granny smith apples are ready to be plucked and baked into the first pies
of the season. The squirrels busy themselves collecting food to be harvested and stow it away as
winter is soon to come. The ground once lush, green, blades, now blanketed with fallen leaves of
golden yellow, bright red, and orange. The days have given way to longer nights, and the warmer
days are now cool and crisp. The air is thick and green. At night you can smell fresh cedar wood,
fireplaces burning, and hear the cracklings of bonfires in the distance. Inside you curl up in your
favorite chair, wrapped in the warmth of a fleece blanket, next to you a simmering, sweet cinnamon
and pumpkin candle. In your hands a 1902 copy of Turn of the Screw, which you found at an old
book fair. The sweet smell of those century old pages is intoxicating, and the story, strange, and
sinister. You think there is nothing like a good ghost story to chase away the October chill. As
October quickly passes, the spring bounties are harvested happily for the Thanksgiving feast ahead.

Halloween
Throughout the U.S, significant holidays are celebrated, and for many, Halloween is one of the most
favorable. Every year, 65% of Americans decorate their homes and offices for Halloween. Being
such a unique holiday, many will make Halloween into a month long celebration by doing fall
themed activities. This includes carving pumpkins, going to haunted houses, eating lots of candy,
and bonfires. Halloween is one of the oldest, most celebrated holidays on Earth, and it brings out the
inner child in all of us. First, we must look back to the birthplace of Halloween, Ireland. Halloween
is believed to have originated from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light
bonfires and wear costumes to scare off spirits. This is why to this day, children and even adults
wear costumes on Halloween. Whether its DIY or store bought, costumes are one of the main
elements of Halloween. However, in the eighth century, Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as
"All Saints' Day", a day to honor all of the celebrated saints and martyrs. Gregory kept some of the
traditions of Samhain, and made the night before All Saint's day "All Hallows' Eve", which later
became known as Halloween. Perotta 2 Over time, Halloween evolved into a grand, community–
based event centered around child–friendly activities, such as trick–or–treating. In many countries
around the world, as the days grow shorter and the nights get colder, people continue to usher in the
winter season with gatherings,

Response To Pumpkins And Dramatic Play
I would respond to Johnny's "show and tell" by saying, "That is a nice pumpkin Johnny, I think it
would be a great idea if we all created a pumpkin patch." I would ask the children questions to learn
how much they know and what they want to know about pumpkins. I would ask the children what
holiday makes them think of pumpkins, what foods you can make with pumpkins, do they want to
know how pumpkins grow, what colors do leaves turn, what's inside pumpkins, and if they would
like to make their own pumpkins. I would list what the children know about pumpkins and some
questions they may have.

they know about the outer layer of a pumpkin. I will tell them the outer part is like skin, it protects

like our belly buttons. I will also tell them that the seeds can be used to make baby pumpkins. As I
am telling the children about the parts of the pumpkin I will place the parts in Ziploc bags so that
they can examine them. I will answer their questions and then go on to explain pumpkins life cycle.

Jack O Lantern Short Story
My Life As Jack O. Lantern, By Emma Miller, Mrs. Fitz
My life started out as a little seed in a bag. I was sitting in The Plant Shop waiting for someone to
purchase me. A day later, I felt myself shuffling along the bag with all my sisters and brothers. I was
placed into a much larger bag, with plants like roses, sunflowers, and there were even a container
full of ladybugs! I could just barley see through the second bag though. We were headed towards a
car, eventually we were put in the very back. The human started playing music on the radio. It was
very loud for my little seedling ears. Finally, we made it to the back yard. It had many pumpkins,
sunflowers, roses, dandelions, and much more. I was dumped into a shallow container with all my
siblings. We were all being placed in little holes in the ground. First was Susie L. Lantern, second
was Bob J. Lantern, and so on. Finally it was my turn. I was picked up by the massive human. I was
placed into a very cozy hole in the ground. I stayed there for days and days. One day, I started to see
the outdoors. I looked down, I saw green. It was me, I was growing! Finally I had achieved my goal
of growing taller and taller, and bigger and bigger each day. I heard lots of voices, of humans
wearing long baggy pants and a t–shirts. They were basically drowning all my family with water.
One of the humans was a man, he was talking to his friends who were helping him. He was talking
about me right in front of my face,

Pumpkin Lab Report
By day one everyone should have brought in a pumpkin to start their experiment on. The first step is
to take measurements on the pumpkin, they include weight (lbs.), waist (in), and count the number
of grooves. All of the data found should be recorded into the table given. Following that we are to
cut open the pumpkin, scoop out the inside, and begin to count all of the seeds found inside. After
completing counting the amount of seeds you will record the number collected in the table as well.
Once all of the data was collected from our pumpkins we were to share it with the other classmates
so they could have all of the other data as well. The next day we began to carve our pumpkins in the
designs each group chose. Later we would receive the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This conclusion has been made by interpreting r and r2 within the problem and comparing them
with the other explanatory variables. First, "r is a measure of correlation between two variables", so
this means the closer r is to one the closer the two variables relate. Also, "r2 is a measure of how
well a regression line approximates the data points and a r2 of one indicates that the regression line
fits perfectly", so again the closer this value is to one the better the correlation. In this we will be
using the explanatory variables which are the weight of the pumpkin, the pumpkins waist size, and
the amount of grooves the pumpkin has. The response variable is the amount of seeds each pumpkin
has. The two variables that had the least correlation with the values being r=.5743 and r2= .3298
were the pumpkin's weight to the pumpkin's seeds. Next with the least correlation was the pumpkin's
waist size to the amount of seeds with values of r=.5898 and r2=. 3479. Finally, the pumpkins
amount of grooves and the number of seeds with values of r=.6751 and r2=.4558. The values of r
and r2 show that the amount of pumpkin grooves is the best predictor of the amount of pumpkin
seeds because it has values that are closer to one compared to the

Halloween Informative Speech
Do you want to know what you can do to make Halloween a fun time? Halloween is a holiday
immersed in magic and pleasurable treats. It can be a marvelous and entertaining spectacle to see
and enjoy. Hordes of children, adorned out in all kinds of costumes, are seen running through the
neighborhood. But, this day is not there just for the kids, I really like seeing adults embrace their
festive and creative sides, and take full advantage of this special holiday, this unique time to scare
and for being scared. Unquestionably, Halloween is a time for exclusive parties, scary decorations,
and spooky atmosphere. A great Halloween party needs Planning, Spooky Invitation, and
Decoration.
First, start to plan every detail, write down your ideas. You have to keep in mind what decorations
you want to purchase, the varieties of food and drinks you need, what music best suits you, or other
ideas that come to your attention. You must consider some activities and games for the guests to
make them feel entertained. Some examples of activities that I used for my last year party are
Mystery Box Game (the players are trying to sense with their hands what is inside of a dark box,
items like eyeballs, bones, guts, and fingers. The trick to this game is that inside the boxes are
everyday items that the players will need to try to guess the identity of), Guess Who Game (the
guests will need to guess which Halloween character they've been designated by getting clues from
the other party guests), Monster Freeze Dance (everyone dance while the music is playing but as
soon as it stops everyone has to freeze. When the music stops anyone who moves is out of the
game). If you can get some additional costumes for guests to share with the people who do not have
or forgot to bring any. To complete a Halloween party, you need a costume contest! Think of what
food and drink you want to serve. Find lots of Halloween food recipes in magazines, books, and the
internet, just decide what you want. Some Menu ideas are Witches Brew(drinks), Bloody
Intestines(pasta), Killer Chicken, Zombie Delights(sandwiches), Spooky Sweets (dessert). Prepares
the audio system and places it in a place where music can be heard easily. Choose music, but also

The Great Pumpkin Comes Again Analysis
The Great Pumpkin Comes Again!
This is not a Linus fantasy sequence or a visit to the Twilight Zone. I?m referring, instead, to the
annual eruption of pumpkin recipes that seems to overshadow the coming of fall and the holiday
season, beginning with the eve of the Feast of All Hallows, or All Saints Day to Roman Catholics. It
seems that every year the uses for this orange colored squash expands and diversifies. This year is
no different. Don?t misunderstand me, I look forward to the annual visit of pumpkin donuts and
muffins, courtesy of Dunkin? Donuts, as much as anyone, but now it expands beyond pumpkin
flavored coffee into an evening cocktail.

The Smashing Pumpkins : An Early Age Of The Most...
The Smashing Pumpkins were one of the most influential bands in the 90's their timbre often fell
under alternative rock. Musical preferences are formed at an early age, unknowingly the people in
your environment help develop how partial you are to any genre. Growing up, my mom, and older
sister listened to a variety of diverse progressive music. So majority of that exposure helped me at
an early age identify what kind of "tone colors" I preferred. It makes it easier to pick the type of
music you enjoy the most. Alternative rock, Synth, Goth Rock, Metal, Pop just about anything with
a beat is ok to listen too. I just observed that Alternative Rock, and Synth Pop are a theme to most of
my playlists. Certain bands take you home, there's a sense of nostalgia that's associated with certain
bands. For myself The Smashing Pumpkins take me to a place in my mind, where its going to be ok,
on a rough day that's all I can do to get by. The reason being is I'm diagnosed as manic depressive
with a bipolar disorder. Which means I suffer from a mental illness that is more common then most
people realize. However, it is hard to talk about, your just different, and that's not a bad thing. Some
days you feel like it is the worst thing in the world, and I've been taught many coping mechanisms
to deal with myself. The first cassette tape I ever received from my mom who is also a lot like me
suffering from depression as well, was a Smashing Pumpkins tape of their 1995 album Mellon

A Child 's Development On The Early Childhood Classroom Essay
It is clear that play is an intricate part of a child's development. Nearly every milestone a child
accomplishes between the ages of 6 months to 5 years of age, play is how the interpret what they see
and hear, and incorporate everyday adult activities in to imaginative play, to mold and shape the
characters of their personalities. Like Vygotsky theory, "Children are practicing what they have
learned in other settings or are constructing new knowledge, it is clear that play has a valuable role
in the early childhood classroom."
Olivia turned four years old, on September 29, 2012. She is a very intelligent and precocious child,
who does want to be the center of attention, but also knows when she has done something wrong.
She is not an only child. She has a brother, Kevin, but it she was unclear in when asked if she had

was not until Ms. Liz, the teacher, who overheard my asking Oliva if she had siblings, chime in and
say, "You have a brother Olivia, what about Kevin?" "Oh, yeah I have Kevin as a brother," Olivia
replied. She gave me the impression that because I was not asking about her, she was not interested
in talking about her brother. Olivia said that she lives with her Mommy and Daddy, and that she

Personal Narrative Essay : Halloween : My Memories Of...
I tend to think a lot about the past holidays with my parents and siblings. Growing up as a kid in my
hometown of
Tennessee, left me with some very priceless memories that I will never forget. I remember
Halloween the most out
of all them. How the trees around our home changed colors and shed leaves at the same time. Where
I could find
pumpkins everywhere and the smell of wood burning filled the air. I remember riding my bike
around just before
dark, in hopes I'd see all the new creepy decorations being put up in my neighborhood. It was the
best feeling riding
my bike up and down the spooky streets with my buddies on a cool October night. It was my dad's
favorite holiday
and he was very traditional about celebrating it. He would take me and my brother every year to a
certain pumpkin
patch. I never knew when he would take us, It was always a surprise, but sometimes I just had a
feeling. We would
make our way through the town square and I would immediately notice the huge inflatable pumpkin
on top of the
small building. It was a symbol to me, that Halloween is almost here. I had seen some of the biggest
pumpkins I have ever witnessed in this place, some bigger than me. When it came down to choosing
which pumpkin to come home
with, I let my dad choose mine most of the time. The best part was sitting in the living room and
carving them
together. There was nothing better than watching a horror movie in the dark, with the exception of
the orange
Halloween lights my mom strung up around the fireplace. I remember a fake ugly witch that sat in
the middle of the
lights, on top of the fireplace mantle. When the sensors were on , it had red glowing eyes and an
uncanny laugh when provoked. My mom was obviously in charge of most of the inside decorations
that involved some source of
electricity or batteries. I also cant forget the tradition of making caramel apples with my mom, as
she so desperately
encouraged me and my older brother to help make, that I quite honestly could have gone without. I
despised apples
or any fruit for that matter. There were plenty of times my friends would come over and spend the
night with me. We
would go outside to the back of my house and travel into the

Reflection On Community Work
On October 20, my Visionary Volunteers group performed our 10 hours of community service for
this project with the CommUniverCity organization. This organization focuses on bringing people
from the city of San Jose and SJSU students together to help the community surrounding Downtown
San Jose to become more sustainable and use more renewable resources. We volunteered and helped
out at the Safe and Green Halloween Party which took place at McKinley Elementary School which
is very close to our university. This Halloween party was based on the theme of safety on Halloween
and being environmentally–friendly. I was there for the entire duration of the event from setting up
to cleaning up. For setting up, I helped by cleaning trash off the school playground, arranging tables
and chairs for the various activity booths, and decorating the playground for the event. One
important thing which I learned here was that teamwork helps us to accomplish large tasks faster. I
found out that teamwork helps me to become more social and meet new people. This makes the job
more fun as I interact with others while performing my tasks. If I was working alone, I would not
have enjoyed it as much as it would be more work for me. Also, I would not have had anyone to talk
to while doing my work. This is why I enjoyed working with others to clear trash from the
playground.

and various arts and crafts

Halloween Traditions In America
Halloween is one of the most celebrated holidays in the world. It has a different meaning other than
being scary. It's celebrated in many countries, and in different ways. It's also not an American started
holiday. Halloween was created because the Irish celts thought the barrier between ghosts and spirits
had gotten really thin, releasing "weird creatures with unearthly powers." The holiday was made to
scare away see monsters and "avoid demonic ridicule." They had costume parties to scare away
these monsters, they thought they saw. There are few traditions in America but of them are greatly
celebrated. During only the 20th century is when all of the traditions were really popular. Today
many people have costume parties or go to them. Playing tricks is also part of Halloween, not just
for April 1st any more. Giving out candy is a big part of these American traditions. ... Show more

It was the Irish celts that had the crazy idea for Halloween, it makes sense that we call them jack o'
lanterns. Trick or treating was enjoyed by the celts and children. The Irish still have a few different
traditions like a card game where they would flip over a card and get a prize like fruit cake.
European celts also celebrated it for a while but France hadn't really celebrated it. They thought of it
as an American holiday and quite unknown in France until 1996. Many other countries also
celebrate Halloween. These countries are Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Czechoslovakia,
England, Germany, Ireland, Sweden, Korea, Japan, Spanish speaking countries, and America. Some
of their traditions are kind of odd but America still has some weird traditions to. In Hong Kong,
people would burn fruit and money. Back in older England, children would make make punkies out
of large beetroots which they would carve, like we do with pumpkins, and run through the streets

The director {Steven R. Monroe} was always making a joke. He 's a very funny guy. Then we had a
great executive producer, Michael Larkin, who was the overseer to make sure everything was going
in line. Once in awhile he would step up and put his two cents in, but everyone seemed to work
really well as a team. I felt really supported from the network all the way down to the smaller PA 's
who were just starting out. Vancouver seems to be so busy that they 're willing to train practically
anyone to be a PA. So everybody from the top to the bottom made me feel at ease. I loved it. So is

Pumpkin Eater Analysis
It is interesting to notice how Sandra Cisneros uses the image of pain in her dramatic monologue
"Pumpkin Eater" to show how the narrator's husband drastically pushed the narrator to an extent.
She became sick of their relationship, growing numbness to the pain that he makes her face. Sandra
Cisneros writes "Pumpkin Eater", based on a nursery rhyme called "Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater'. The
hidden meaning of the nursery rhyme is that there is a cheating wife, who is murdered by her
husband, then hid in a pumpkin shell, because he couldn't hold control of her. This poem gives the
same vibe of the meaning that the nursery rhyme gives out. The difference between this poem and
the nursery rhyme is that the narrator's husband is the one who can't be held in control of. The wife
felt trapped in this predicament with her husband where I assume as if she felt useless because her
effort on fighting for him wouldn't make a change to his actions. She uses terms such as anarchist,
machete, and trouble, making a statement as if she is convincing herself that she is not an advocate
of such things and it is her reason for bringing up Saint Lucy, in order to convince herself (and
readers) otherwise. It is implementing a soft, angelic tone that contradicts being rebellious and
fierce. She says, "I keep inside a pumpkin shell. There I do very well. Shut a blind eye to where my
pumpkin eater roams"(ll. 19–22). The pumpkin shell is the narrator safe place, where she acts naïve
when the pumpkin eater, her husband, is running around with other women. The husband is referred
as the pumpkin eater because even though he not physically killing her like the nursery rhyme, he
definitely is killing her emotionally. The narrator says, "I'm no hysteric, terrorist, emotional
anarchist"(ll. 16–18), referring to how she going to let him go about his business without being an
emotional crazy wreck, nor feeling the need to have to call him in the middle of the night while he
out. It's interpreted that each stanza in this monologue is an explanation of her current predicament;
convincing her husband that she is not the one in their relationship that is being unfaithful, "I'm not
the kind of woman who telephone's in the middle of the night, who told

Descriptive Essay About Mission Inn
Hugo Munoz–Escalera
Schachat
English 1A
2 November 2017
The Mission Inn Walking the streets through Downtown Riverside, it's hard to miss the giant castle–
esque structure that takes up an entire city block. The Mission Inn's Spanish architecture and lush
green variety of trees and bushes can be seen from a mile away. Taking an aerial view of Downtown
Riverside allows one to see what sets this entire city block apart. The tops of every building that
make up the Inn are colored a foreign maroon red which greatly contrast with the rest of the city's
boring gray rooftops. The structure makes a giant upside down horseshoe shape which is centered
around a gorgeous sparkling pool, which itself is surrounded by a ring of greenery that encompasses
the entire center of the U–shape. Behind the U are several "wings" that make up the rest of the Inn,
which include rooms for guests to stay in and all of the other commodities that the hotel has for
visitors, such as a museum filled with artwork and artifacts, and several different dining options.
Before entering the ancient luxurious Spanish castle through the main entrance, one walks through
walkways filled with rich shrubbery and plants that line the wall and the fence closest to the street.
The entrance to the Inn lies behind the U–shaped driveway where guests can have their exotic cars
valet parked. Entering the Mission Inn in Downtown Riverside during the night time was a
breathtaking experience. Sounds of crickets chirping and

Halloween Research Paper
The days are growing a bit cooler here and there and autumn is right around the corner. Now is the
time to start planning for your Halloween themed paint and sip events. Keep in mind that parents are
now looking for safer alternatives to trick or treating. A family event that celebrates the season and
offers a safe place for kids to gather candy and have fun may be the perfect way to reach out to the
community and bring in new customers.
Elements of a Halloween Paint and Sip Event
There are several steps you need to take to plan a paint and sip event for your store. You can
implement a few of these ideas, or use all of them.

Spook the Crowd
One of the best parts of a "scary" evening is the ghost stories that are told. If you have young
children in the crowd, keep the stories tame. If it is all adults, the stories can be a bit more
frightening, of course.
Hire an actor or two to portray famous Halloween characters such as Dracula or Frankenstein. Have
them work the room as people work on their paintings and interact with the guests. For example,
Dracula could say, "I Vant to see Your Painting."
Get the Word Out
You'll be competing with tried and true favorites of Halloween, such as the local haunted houses,
hayrides and corn mazes. People love to try something new, especially if it is indoors on a rainy
October evening, but you also have to get the word out about your events.
Work together with local haunted houses and costume shops. They pass out flyers about your events
and you pass out flyers for their business. You could also offer an exclusive coupon to their

Essay On Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is a day family and friends have a traditional meal including turkey. Thanksgiving is
always held on the fourth Thursday of November every year. It's a very special holiday when
everybody comes together as a family to cook, enjoy, and bless the food, but also to enjoy each
other. In 2015, I had a special Thanksgiving Day dinner that left me full of joy.
On Thanksgiving Day every year, my family and I normally rent a building that's twenty–minutes
away from my house. The building is located in Church Point, Louisiana. It is a Community Center
at the park. The inside of the building is huge. It has a kitchen area in the back of the building.
Inside of the kitchen it has a large island and cabinets stuff full of pots, pans, and utensils. We had
two long tables in the back by the kitchen to put the food on. The deejay is placed in the front by the
entrance. Between the kitchen and the deejay were chairs and tables placed for people to eat their
food. There were placed a variety of tables that came in different shapes and colors. As I walked
around the building, I noticed yellow, brown, and orange tables. The chairs had chair covers on them
that were the same colors of yellow, brown, and orange, which are colors that you would see in
November that had different meanings. Yellow is the corn, brown is the turkey and orange is a
pumpkin.
As Thanksgiving Day approaches each year slowly, my family and friends are on their way to
Louisiana. Most of my family are from

Music : The Smashing Pumpkins
The Smashing Pumpkins was one of the most influential bands in the 90's their timbre often fell
under alternative rock. Musical preferences are formed at an early age, unknowingly the people in
your environment help develop how partial you are to any genre. Growing up my mother, and older
sister listened too very diverse, and progressive music. So majority of that exposure helped me at an
early age identify what kind of "tone colors" I preferred making it easier to pick the type of music I
liked. Alternative rock, Synth, Goth Rock, Metal, Pop just about anything with a beat is ok with me,
but Alternative Rock, and Synth Pop are a theme to most of my playlists. Certain bands take you
home, you go to that place in your mind, where its going to be ok, on a rough day that's all you can
do to get by. The first cassette tape I ever received from my mom was a Smashing Pumpkins tape of
their 1995 album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. This cassette got me through most of my
young adult life up until now, your taught many coping mechanisms throughout life, I like to think
that music is the most natural one.

A Short Story : A Story?
Several years ago, Tiffany and her mother were quite poor. They didn't have very much food and
didn't have a very nice house. Their house was very rugged and the paint was peeling off the walls.
Their house was a dark brown looking color and clothes were spread out all across the floor. Later
Tiffany's mother sent her to the store with a bag of coins to try to get something to eat. This bag was
old, dusty, brown, and had a basket like texture. This bag was tied at the top with a rubber band. It
had the words " COINS " written on it in dark green letters. As Tiffany was leaving her mother told
her to bring something good back. Her mother said this very hopefully. Along Tiffany's trip she
come across a tradesman. This tradesman looked like he was an average man ( money wise ). He
was wearing these dark brown clothes and his hair was all messed up. Tiffany felt quite scared. As
she was walking by the tradesman saw her. He was thinking that Tiffany would be the perfect one to
trade with him.
" What you got there, miss " the tradesman said
" A big bag of coins " Tiffany said very cautiously
" Well i'll trade you these magic pumpkin seeds for that bag of coins "
" What even is your name " she asked
" George "
" Oh ok "
" What's yours ? "
" Tiffany"
Tiffany started thinking hard. She wanted the seeds because they were rare to find in the desert. She
then thought it would be quite valuable so she decided to trade with him. Tiffany then headed home.

There I was, walking through the tall wooden door that laid open in front of me. I am about to work
what seemed like, the longest seven hours of my life. The bright ceiling lights were shining in my
exhausted eyes from a long day of school. As I prepare to punch in my seven–digit number into the

has now started the bright fall orange seasonal blizzard, The Pumpkin Pie Blizzard. I can just taste
the cinnamon in my mouth that is watering over the smell of the pumpkin spice. As the dull gray
register spits out my receipt showing that I have clocked in at 3:55 P.M., I look over to the red
entrance doors. I can hear an enormous roar, a stampede of customers swarming in like bees that

" What do you mean I'm here early? I'm right on time, it's 4 o'clock. Where is everyone else?" He

"Thanksgiving dinner doesn't start until 5 o'clock. You must have read the invitation wrong." I

" I already have everything done, but you can keep me company while we wait for everyone to get

They sat down at the table and waited.

New York Holidays
There are many holidays to celebrate, for example Christmas, Hanukkah, Halloween, Thanksgiving,
Valentine's day, Easter, and a few more, but i'm just going to go over a few of them.
On Christmas, the most enormous holiday of the year, there are many things to enjoy. Who doesn't
like waking up to gifts under the Christmas tree? There is also all of that delicious hot chocolate to
drink. And amazing food to eat such as ham, potatoes, and the chocolate bars in your stocking. And
who doesn't like to sit down, relax and listen to the Christmas songs? Don't even get me started on
decorating the Christmas tree, all of the stunning lights, the fascinating ornaments, and the sparkling
gleaming star on top. Just hope you don't knock it over! Ok, who likes snowball fights? I mean, on
Christmas you have giant amounts of snow, why not have a good old snowball fight? And if you are
in Hawaii or Florida or some other place that doesn't get snow, you're missing out on the fun. I
would suggest moving to New York, they have so much snow they can't keep the streets clean in
winter. So to Florida, we send our regards. Wait, there's supposed to be a point to this paragraph?
Well, uh, kids, don't give Santa a hard time, keep your Christmas list short.
You could also say the same about Halloween, one of the most well known holidays to celebrate in
the USA and Ireland. Who doesn't love a good scare at a haunted house? You get to eat all of the

Halloween Story Of Halloween
Once upon a time in Ireland, there was a man named Jack. One day on his way home from a party,
after he had drunk too much, he met a demon. Frightened, he tied up the demon to a tree and drew
the cross on it to restrain the devil. He told the demon: "If I let you go, you would have to help me to
stay out of hell." They agreed to the deal, and the man let the demon go. When he died of old age, he
could not go to Heaven because of all of his sins–from excessive eating to drinking and lying. When
he was falling to Hell, he remembered the deal he had made with the devil and called on it. The
demon came and helped him by throwing its flame at him. The man used a turnip to store the fire
and therefore, did not fall into Hell. However, he could not go to Heaven either. He wandered about
and survived by the flame from the demon.
Now, the pumpkin replaced the turnip because pumpkin is easier to carve, and pumpkin carving
became a fun activity on Halloween.
That was a beautiful Halloween story to explain the holiday. In Buddhism, we compare carving and
hollowing out the pumpkin to emptying all our irrationality and prejudices to free ourselves and
bring out the light of the True Mind.
On Halloween, we also put on costumes. This custom also originated from Ireland and spread from
Europe to America. It has become commercialized and differed from the original form. The tradition
of wearing costumes on Halloween started with the belief in demons who went door to door asking

Narrative Essay About Pumpkin Pie
I remember the day when I found out what a pumpkin pie from the bakery of my street was made of
before the bakery never existed. It was a dark, frigid night in November, close to the week of
Thanksgiving. Before that night, I loved that pumpkin pie for its flavor, especially its smoothness.
This thought completely changed that night.
November 15th was the day. My little brother, Jeff, was craving for some pumpkin pie, and as usual,
my parents being biased, forced me to go fetch up some of that mouth–watering pumpkin pie. I
really didn't want to go, but I had to. I forced Jeff to go with me, not knowing the danger I'll get him
into. I took my dog, Mickey, with me so I could feel safe on the street during the night. In the
neighborhood I live, when the sun sets, dangerous people lurk the streets.
All three of us walked casually to the end of the street. We could really smell the delicious
fragrances of desserts and pastries such as the beignet, upside–down cake, cannoli, but most
importantly, the pumpkin pie. From its crust to its filling, the pumpkin pie brought me in the bakery.
I left Mickey outside, as per the "No Dogs" policy. Jeff and I were waiting in the lobby, waiting for
someone to take our order. A few minutes passed, and I began to get annoyed.
"Mistress, anyone?!" I yelled out.
"Pumpkin pie?" Jeff questioned.
No one seemed to come out. At first, I thought that the owner forgot to close–up or something, but I
could swear I could hear some noise from the kitchen. I

Compare and Contrast: Christmas and Thanksgiving
Holidays are always celebrated no matter religion, beliefs, or culture. Some are recognized more

The engagement in activities is a very special part of being human. According to (framework),
activities are defined as "Actions designed and selected to support the development of performance
skills and performance patterns to enhance occupational engagement" (AOTA, 2014, pg. S30). My
group and I recently had the honor of completing two different activities with the life skills students,
at the Wyoming Valley West Middle School in Kingston, Pennsylvania. The activities that we
completed with the children were pumpkin painting, and completing a Halloween mask. The
purpose of these activities were to show how an Occupation Therapy practitioner can work with
children who have intellectual and physical disabilities, and understand their emotional and social
needs, in a classroom setting. The environment played a key role in the completion of both
activities. According to the OTPH–3 an environment is defined as "External physical and social
conditions that surround the client and in which the client's daily life occupations occur" (AOTA.
2014, pg. S12). The first major inhibitor regarding the physical environment was that fact that the
children were not placed in their normal classroom. Due to a recent mold issue, the students of the
Wyoming Valley West Middle School were unexpectedly asked to move to the Wyoming Valley
West High School. Since neither the students, nor the teachers were familiar with the classroom,
they had a difficult time finding items such as paper towels.

Safe Halloween
Tips for a Safe Halloween It's hard to believe, but Halloween is just days away. Here are some tips
to ensure that your kids stay safe while creating some memories that they'll have for life: Make sure
that the annual pumpkin carving doesn't end with a trip to the ER. Small children should never be
allowed to use a knife to cut the pumpkin. It's best to let them clean out the pumpkin and draw the
face, then you carve out the design that they made. If your kids are older, there are carving kits that
come with small saws that work better than knives. The saws reduce the chance of cuts, but you still
need to closely supervise them. Help your child pick out a costume that fits well and will be safe to
wear. Verify that it's fire proof or treated with fire retardant. If they are wearing a mask, make sure
that the eye holes are large enough for them to have good peripheral vision. If your kids are carrying
props such as toy swords or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They won't be as tempted to eat any candy before you have a chance to check it. They should only
eat factory–wrapped candy. Explain to your children the danger of eating homemade treats made by
strangers. Use a flashlight while trick–or–treating to help you see and ensure others see you. Use
reflective tape on costumes or bags to help drivers see you. If you have a child aged 3 or under, do
not let them have glow sticks/necklaces. These items contain chemicals that although low in
toxicity, will still cause stinging and burning, if ingested. Make sure that if your child uses one of
these glow sticks/necklaces, they keep it out of their mouth. If your children are young (or not so
young!), be sure they know how to cross a street properly. Between the excitement of Halloween
and the sugar rush, trick–or–treating can quickly turn into a track meet. They should always look
both ways before WALKING across the street and should also use crosswalks, whenever

Tuesdays With Morrie Rhetorical Analysis
"We can leave the mountain anytime we want but those with ALS are prisoners in their own body"–
Alex Williams. People with ALS start losing their ability to move as the disease goes through their
body. In the Book Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom Morrie Schwartz has ALS and he tries to
give away all of his wisdom before he dies. Morrie teaches people to live life through showing love
to family, not hiding or being scared of aging and accepting that Death is natural. The first lesson
Morrie teaches is that showing love to family is most important.
Morrie says the family is the main foundation and we should love them because we never know
when we could lose them. A wise quote from Morrie that proves we should show love for family is
"The fact is, there is no foundation, no secure ground, upon which people my stand today if it isn't
the family" (Albom 91). I agree with Morrie that family is the main foundation in life. Family will
always help each other out any way possible so it is important to love family members. An example
from my life is there was this one time I needed money for something I needed and I didn't have no
money. So then my uncle ended up helping me out because it was important and family helps each
other out when in need. The second lesson Morrie teaches is that don't be scared of aging, it is a
natural thing. Morrie accepts aging because he is at that point in his life that he needs help moving
around because he can't do it by himself especially with ALS. A wise Quote from Morrie that proves
not to be afraid of aging is " Its very simple. As you grow, you learn more. If you stayed at twenty–
two, you'd always be as ignorant as you were at twenty–two. Aging is not just decay, you know. Its
growth. It's more than the negative that you're going to die, it's also the positive that you understand
you're going to die, and that you live a better life because of it" (Albom 118). I agree with Morrie as

Synopsis Of The Summer Spring
Seasons
That time of year is here. The weather has begun to change from the blistering July heat, to the cool
evenings of September. There is no longer the need to flip channel after channel on the television to
find something to watch since it is finally football season. The vivid green leaves are beginning to
fade out and become different shades of brown, orange, and red. Leaves begin to fall from the
upmost branches of the tree and float their way down to the ground. Kids gather around to collect
the fallen leaves and jump into the enormous pile created by doing the chore of raking. Taste buds
begin to water as the thought of warm cider and sweet pumpkin pie comes into the picture. The
ladies begin to get out their favorite sweater, pair of jeans, and boots to wear out as the cooler nights
approach. While every season has its own sense of wonder, autumn is the best one of them all.
The paramount of this season is the plethora of activities that go on in a short amount of time. From
the end of August to November, you can almost catch every high school kid on a Friday night in a
stadium decked out in latest costume related to that game's student section theme. Whether it's a
tacky tourist uniform or your American patriot, you can always see an eye–catching outfit. After
their years of experience of high school football, the real test of dedication comes to the Saturday
games. Tailgating before the games is the excitement that brings everyone together. Leading into
late

Mrs Grindstaff Character Analysis

  • 1. Mrs Grindstaff Character Analysis Mrs.Grindstaff is a secure base for not only all her students but other kindergardeners as well as her previous students. Mrs.Grindstaff is a very popular teacher that is always available for students. Students approach her constantly as mentioned in the book to communicate affection, share stories, and and are happy to see her. From observing I could tell that many of her students have a secondary attachment towards Ms.Grindstaff as she is there safe haven and as stated in the book by theorist John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth it is perfectly normal. Her students feel very comfortable with Ms.Grindstaff however not so much with other kindergarten teachers when they do rotations. While I was observing I noticed students personality types as well as what type of learners they are. For example I would consider Finnegan as a insecure learner. The book states " Insecure learners tend to be stressed, easily excited and anxious" Finnegan stresses academically and gets excited easily with small things. I would also describe her classroom B1 as equal mixture of resilient, overcontrolled and undercontrolled personalities. A clear example of student who is undercontrolled would be Shay. Shay is energetic, impulsive, active, assertive and finds it hard to concentrate. (6.2) He is constantly rocking his chair, talking to other students, and constantly gets asked to refocus by Mrs.Grindstaff. I believe all her students are good fit since Mrs.Grindstaff creates an environment for highly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. My Favorite Time Of Year "I see the turning of a leaf dancing in an autumn sun, and brilliant shades of crimson glowing when a day is done". This quote by Hazelmarie Mattie Elliott describes what I see in a day of fall. The colorful leaves in the crisp cold air where the sun shines. My favorite time of year is Fall because of all the Pumpkins, and celebrating Halloween and I get to celebrate thanksgiving. The first reason why I like Fall so much is because of all the dazzling pumpkins. My favorite thing about pumpkins is Going to the pumpkin patch and picking out the perfect pumpkin. For me the perfect pumpkin would have a bold orange color, and it would be immense, with a perfect slender look. Me and my family have been going to a pumpkin patch every year since I was about 2 years old. During our time at the pumpkin patch my brothers and I always have a contest to see who can find the biggest pumpkin in the field, nevertheless this time I won, the pumpkin I found weighed 15 pounds and was really fat with a nice sheer matte orange color. When I saw this pumpkin, it was like a glowing spot light had appeared right over the pumpkin. Something very unusual my brother Alex had found in the pumpkin patch was a s medium sized pumpkin that was kind of shaped like a peanut, he had most definitely won the award for most weird pumpkin. Once we all came home with our pumpkins, we started to carve our glorious pumpkins because we are so excited to see how they would turn out. In like manner the design's that I ... • 5. Mr. Pirzada's Cultural Identity Throughout Lahiri's narrative, a Bengali man named Mr. Pirzada comes to eat with Lillia and her family. As the story progresses, and Mr. Pirzada becomes especially significant to the little girl, and his presence allows Lillia to realize and understand her cultural identity as an Indian American. Pumpkins, leading up to and on the night of Halloween, are symbolic for cultural identity in this short story. Upon an unspecified day in October, Mr. Pirzada notices pumpkins distributed throughout Lillia's neighborhood. Asking Lillia about the alien vegetables, Mr. Pirzada has never seen them before. The next day, Lillia's mother buys a ten–pound pumpkin. When she tells Lillia to decorate it with a marker, the girl refuses– Lillia wants to carve ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Pirzada agrees with the girl; "Asking no questions, he walked into the kitchen, opened a drawer, and returned, bearing a long serrated knife. He glanced at me for approval" (35). Instructing Mr. Pirzada on how to create a "proper" jack–o'–lantern, Lillia observes that he is able to carve well. During the creation process of the jack–o'–lantern, news concerning Dacca, Mr. Pirzada's hometown and the dwelling of his family, appears on the television. Slipping from his hand, the knife makes a gash, ruining the otherwise perfect pumpkin. When Mr. Pirzada carves the jack–o'–lantern, it is as if he is simulating what it is like to be an average American, something which he is not, by creating a jack– o'–lantern, a quintessential part of American Halloween. When he is reminded of his true identity, of Dacca and of Bangladesh, his otherwise perfect pumpkin becomes blemished. This occurrence represents how one cannot deny their identity, that it is a part of them which affects the way in which they act and the feelings that they feel. For Lillia, a perfect jack–o'–lantern represents an average American, and when a non–American screws up the carving process, this shows that one cannot take up an identity which is not their ... • 7. Bountiful Seasons: Nature's Wonders Essays Bountiful Seasons Have you ever noticed how we're always ready at the end of summer for fall, or how we're always ready at the end of winter for spring to arrive, yet we're never quite ready for spring or fall to end. There is something special and intoxicating about spring and fall. Spring ushers in a new beginning or a rebirth, while fall is the harvesting of our spring labors. Spring like fall is an explosion of our senses, each very different, and we are able to take in these various bounties by sight, smell, and taste. The wonder of spring is the awakening of new life. The previously barren trees are bursting with fresh, glossy, green leaves. The recently thawed ground is blossoming with bright red tulips, royal purple ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Fall is the bounty of spring, the harvesting of our labors. The ravenous tree branches will begin shedding themselves of their leaves, which will quietly tumble onto the quickly cooling ground. The bright orange pumpkins, now ripe for the picking, hay bales stacked, and sunflowers in full bloom. The red delicious and green granny smith apples are ready to be plucked and baked into the first pies of the season. The squirrels busy themselves collecting food to be harvested and stow it away as winter is soon to come. The ground once lush, green, blades, now blanketed with fallen leaves of golden yellow, bright red, and orange. The days have given way to longer nights, and the warmer days are now cool and crisp. The air is thick and green. At night you can smell fresh cedar wood, fireplaces burning, and hear the cracklings of bonfires in the distance. Inside you curl up in your favorite chair, wrapped in the warmth of a fleece blanket, next to you a simmering, sweet cinnamon and pumpkin candle. In your hands a 1902 copy of Turn of the Screw, which you found at an old book fair. The sweet smell of those century old pages is intoxicating, and the story, strange, and sinister. You think there is nothing like a good ghost story to chase away the October chill. As October quickly passes, the spring bounties are harvested happily for the Thanksgiving feast ahead. • 9. Halloween Throughout the U.S, significant holidays are celebrated, and for many, Halloween is one of the most favorable. Every year, 65% of Americans decorate their homes and offices for Halloween. Being such a unique holiday, many will make Halloween into a month long celebration by doing fall themed activities. This includes carving pumpkins, going to haunted houses, eating lots of candy, and bonfires. Halloween is one of the oldest, most celebrated holidays on Earth, and it brings out the inner child in all of us. First, we must look back to the birthplace of Halloween, Ireland. Halloween is believed to have originated from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to scare off spirits. This is why to this day, children and even adults wear costumes on Halloween. Whether its DIY or store bought, costumes are one of the main elements of Halloween. However, in the eighth century, Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as "All Saints' Day", a day to honor all of the celebrated saints and martyrs. Gregory kept some of the traditions of Samhain, and made the night before All Saint's day "All Hallows' Eve", which later became known as Halloween. Perotta 2 Over time, Halloween evolved into a grand, community– based event centered around child–friendly activities, such as trick–or–treating. In many countries around the world, as the days grow shorter and the nights get colder, people continue to usher in the winter season with gatherings, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I would ask the children questions to learn how much they know and what they want to know about pumpkins. I would ask the children what holiday makes them think of pumpkins, what foods you can make with pumpkins, do they want to know how pumpkins grow, what colors do leaves turn, what's inside pumpkins, and if they would like to make their own pumpkins. • 13. Jack O Lantern Short Story My Life As Jack O. Lantern, By Emma Miller, Mrs. Fitz My life started out as a little seed in a bag. I was sitting in The Plant Shop waiting for someone to purchase me. A day later, I felt myself shuffling along the bag with all my sisters and brothers. I was placed into a much larger bag, with plants like roses, sunflowers, and there were even a container full of ladybugs! I could just barley see through the second bag though. We were headed towards a car, eventually we were put in the very back. The human started playing music on the radio. It was very loud for my little seedling ears. Finally, we made it to the back yard. It had many pumpkins, sunflowers, roses, dandelions, and much more. I was dumped into a shallow container with all my siblings. We were all being placed in little holes in the ground. First was Susie L. Lantern, second was Bob J. Lantern, and so on. Finally it was my turn. I was picked up by the massive human. I was placed into a very cozy hole in the ground. I stayed there for days and days. One day, I started to see the outdoors. I looked down, I saw green. It was me, I was growing! Finally I had achieved my goal of growing taller and taller, and bigger and bigger each day. I heard lots of voices, of humans wearing long baggy pants and a t–shirts. They were basically drowning all my family with water. One of the humans was a man, he was talking to his friends who were helping him. He was talking about me right in front of my face, ... The first step is to take measurements on the pumpkin, they include weight (lbs.), waist (in), and count the number of grooves. All of the data found should be recorded into the table given. Following that we are to cut open the pumpkin, scoop out the inside, and begin to count all of the seeds found inside. After completing counting the amount of seeds you will record the number collected in the table as well. Once all of the data was collected from our pumpkins we were to share it with the other classmates so they could have all of the other data as well. The next day we began to carve our pumpkins in the designs each group chose. Later we would receive the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This conclusion has been made by interpreting r and r2 within the problem and comparing them with the other explanatory variables. First, "r is a measure of correlation between two variables", so this means the closer r is to one the closer the two variables relate. Also, "r2 is a measure of how well a regression line approximates the data points and a r2 of one indicates that the regression line fits perfectly", so again the closer this value is to one the better the correlation. In this we will be using the explanatory variables which are the weight of the pumpkin, the pumpkins waist size, and the amount of grooves the pumpkin has. The response variable is the amount of seeds each pumpkin has. • 17. Halloween Informative Speech Do you want to know what you can do to make Halloween a fun time? Halloween is a holiday immersed in magic and pleasurable treats. It can be a marvelous and entertaining spectacle to see and enjoy. Hordes of children, adorned out in all kinds of costumes, are seen running through the neighborhood. But, this day is not there just for the kids, I really like seeing adults embrace their festive and creative sides, and take full advantage of this special holiday, this unique time to scare and for being scared. Unquestionably, Halloween is a time for exclusive parties, scary decorations, and spooky atmosphere. A great Halloween party needs Planning, Spooky Invitation, and Decoration. First, start to plan every detail, write down your ideas. You have to keep in mind what decorations you want to purchase, the varieties of food and drinks you need, what music best suits you, or other ideas that come to your attention. You must consider some activities and games for the guests to make them feel entertained. Some examples of activities that I used for my last year party are Mystery Box Game (the players are trying to sense with their hands what is inside of a dark box, items like eyeballs, bones, guts, and fingers. The trick to this game is that inside the boxes are everyday items that the players will need to try to guess the identity of), Guess Who Game (the guests will need to guess which Halloween character they've been designated by getting clues from the other party guests), Monster Freeze Dance (everyone dance while the music is playing but as soon as it stops everyone has to freeze. When the music stops anyone who moves is out of the game). If you can get some additional costumes for guests to share with the people who do not have or forgot to bring any. To complete a Halloween party, you need a costume contest! Think of what food and drink you want to serve. Find lots of Halloween food recipes in magazines, books, and the internet, just decide what you want. Some Menu ideas are Witches Brew(drinks), Bloody Intestines(pasta), Killer Chicken, Zombie Delights(sandwiches), Spooky Sweets (dessert). Prepares the audio system and places it in a place where music can be heard easily. Choose music, but also scary sound ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Musical preferences are formed at an early age, unknowingly the people in your environment help develop how partial you are to any genre. Growing up, my mom, and older sister listened to a variety of diverse progressive music. So majority of that exposure helped me at an early age identify what kind of "tone colors" I preferred. It makes it easier to pick the type of music you enjoy the most. Alternative rock, Synth, Goth Rock, Metal, Pop just about anything with a beat is ok to listen too. • 23. A Child 's Development On The Early Childhood Classroom Essay It is clear that play is an intricate part of a child's development. Nearly every milestone a child accomplishes between the ages of 6 months to 5 years of age, play is how the interpret what they see and hear, and incorporate everyday adult activities in to imaginative play, to mold and shape the characters of their personalities. Like Vygotsky theory, "Children are practicing what they have learned in other settings or are constructing new knowledge, it is clear that play has a valuable role in the early childhood classroom." Olivia turned four years old, on September 29, 2012. She is a very intelligent and precocious child, who does want to be the center of attention, but also knows when she has done something wrong. She is not an only child. She has a brother, Kevin, but it she was unclear in when asked if she had siblings. When asked if she had any brothers or sisters, she said, "Yes, but they are my cousins." It was not until Ms. Liz, the teacher, who overheard my asking Oliva if she had siblings, chime in and say, "You have a brother Olivia, what about Kevin?" "Oh, yeah I have Kevin as a brother," Olivia replied. She gave me the impression that because I was not asking about her, she was not interested in talking about her brother. Growing up as a kid in my hometown of Tennessee, left me with some very priceless memories that I will never forget. I remember Halloween the most out of all them. How the trees around our home changed colors and shed leaves at the same time. Where I could find pumpkins everywhere and the smell of wood burning filled the air. I remember riding my bike around just before dark, in hopes I'd see all the new creepy decorations being put up in my neighborhood. It was the best feeling riding my bike up and down the spooky streets with my buddies on a cool October night. It was my dad's favorite holiday and he was very traditional about celebrating it. He would take me and my brother every year to a certain pumpkin patch. I never knew when he would take us, It was always a surprise, but sometimes I just had a feeling. We would make our way through the town square and I would immediately notice the huge inflatable pumpkin on top of the small building. It was a symbol to me, that Halloween is almost here. I had seen some of the biggest pumpkins I have ever witnessed in this place, some bigger than me. When it came down to choosing which pumpkin to come home with, I let my dad choose mine most of the time. The best part was sitting in the living room and carving them together. There was nothing better than watching a horror movie in the dark, with the exception of

This organization focuses on bringing people from the city of San Jose and SJSU students together to help the community surrounding Downtown San Jose to become more sustainable and use more renewable resources. We volunteered and helped out at the Safe and Green Halloween Party which took place at McKinley Elementary School which is very close to our university. This Halloween party was based on the theme of safety on Halloween and being environmentally–friendly. I was there for the entire duration of the event from setting up to cleaning up. For setting up, I helped by cleaning trash off the school playground, arranging tables and chairs for the various activity booths, and decorating the playground for the event. One important thing which I learned here was that teamwork helps us to accomplish large tasks faster. I found out that teamwork helps me to become more social and meet new people. This makes the job more fun as I interact with others while performing my tasks. If I was working alone, I would not have enjoyed it as much as it would be more work for me. Also, I would not have had anyone to talk to while doing my work. This is why I enjoyed working with others to clear trash from the playground. • 32. Halloween Traditions In America Halloween is one of the most celebrated holidays in the world. It has a different meaning other than being scary. It's celebrated in many countries, and in different ways. It's also not an American started holiday. Halloween was created because the Irish celts thought the barrier between ghosts and spirits had gotten really thin, releasing "weird creatures with unearthly powers." The holiday was made to scare away see monsters and "avoid demonic ridicule." They had costume parties to scare away these monsters, they thought they saw. There are few traditions in America but of them are greatly celebrated. During only the 20th century is when all of the traditions were really popular. Today many people have costume parties or go to them. Playing tricks is also part of Halloween, not just for April 1st any more. Giving out candy is a big part of these American traditions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was the Irish celts that had the crazy idea for Halloween, it makes sense that we call them jack o' lanterns. Trick or treating was enjoyed by the celts and children. The Irish still have a few different traditions like a card game where they would flip over a card and get a prize like fruit cake. European celts also celebrated it for a while but France hadn't really celebrated it. They thought of it as an American holiday and quite unknown in France until 1996. Many other countries also celebrate Halloween. These countries are Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Czechoslovakia, England, Germany, Ireland, Sweden, Korea, Japan, Spanish speaking countries, and America. Some of their traditions are kind of odd but America still has some weird traditions to. In Hong Kong, people would burn fruit and money. Back in older England, children would make make punkies out of large beetroots which they would carve, like we do with pumpkins, and run through the streets singing the "Punkie Night Song" and ask people for ... I don 't know if it 's just the Canadian people, but they were really kind and welcoming. I thought maybe it was just a Hallmark thing, but I think it 's a Canadian thing. Everyone smiles or laughs. Just a very pleasant atmosphere. The director {Steven R. Monroe} was always making a joke. He 's a very funny guy. Then we had a great executive producer, Michael Larkin, who was the overseer to make sure everything was going in line. Once in awhile he would step up and put his two cents in, but everyone seemed to work really well as a team. I felt really supported from the network all the way down to the smaller PA 's who were just starting out. Vancouver seems to be so busy that they 're willing to train practically anyone to be a PA. • 36. Pumpkin Eater Analysis It is interesting to notice how Sandra Cisneros uses the image of pain in her dramatic monologue "Pumpkin Eater" to show how the narrator's husband drastically pushed the narrator to an extent. She became sick of their relationship, growing numbness to the pain that he makes her face. Sandra Cisneros writes "Pumpkin Eater", based on a nursery rhyme called "Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater'. The hidden meaning of the nursery rhyme is that there is a cheating wife, who is murdered by her husband, then hid in a pumpkin shell, because he couldn't hold control of her. This poem gives the same vibe of the meaning that the nursery rhyme gives out. The difference between this poem and the nursery rhyme is that the narrator's husband is the one who can't be held in control of. The wife felt trapped in this predicament with her husband where I assume as if she felt useless because her effort on fighting for him wouldn't make a change to his actions. She uses terms such as anarchist, machete, and trouble, making a statement as if she is convincing herself that she is not an advocate of such things and it is her reason for bringing up Saint Lucy, in order to convince herself (and readers) otherwise. It is implementing a soft, angelic tone that contradicts being rebellious and fierce. She says, "I keep inside a pumpkin shell. There I do very well. Shut a blind eye to where my pumpkin eater roams"(ll. 19–22). The pumpkin shell is the narrator safe place, where she acts naïve when the pumpkin eater, her husband, is running around with other women. The husband is referred as the pumpkin eater because even though he not physically killing her like the nursery rhyme, he definitely is killing her emotionally. The narrator says, "I'm no hysteric, terrorist, emotional anarchist"(ll. 16–18), referring to how she going to let him go about his business without being an emotional crazy wreck, nor feeling the need to have to call him in the middle of the night while he out. It's interpreted that each stanza in this monologue is an explanation of her current predicament; convincing her husband that she is not the one in their relationship that is being unfaithful, "I'm not the kind of woman who telephone's in the middle of the night, who told ... Taking an aerial view of Downtown Riverside allows one to see what sets this entire city block apart. It's a very special holiday when everybody comes together as a family to cook, enjoy, and bless the food, but also to enjoy each other. In 2015, I had a special Thanksgiving Day dinner that left me full of joy. On Thanksgiving Day every year, my family and I normally rent a building that's twenty–minutes away from my house. The building is located in Church Point, Louisiana. It is a Community Center at the park. The inside of the building is huge. It has a kitchen area in the back of the building. Inside of the kitchen it has a large island and cabinets stuff full of pots, pans, and utensils. We had two long tables in the back by the kitchen to put the food on. The deejay is placed in the front by the entrance. Between the kitchen and the deejay were chairs and tables placed for people to eat their food. There were placed a variety of tables that came in different shapes and colors. As I walked around the building, I noticed yellow, brown, and orange tables. The chairs had chair covers on them that were the same colors of yellow, brown, and orange, which are colors that you would see in November that had different meanings. New York Holidays There are many holidays to celebrate, for example Christmas, Hanukkah, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Valentine's day, Easter, and a few more, but i'm just going to go over a few of them. On Christmas, the most enormous holiday of the year, there are many things to enjoy. Who doesn't like waking up to gifts under the Christmas tree? There is also all of that delicious hot chocolate to drink. And amazing food to eat such as ham, potatoes, and the chocolate bars in your stocking. And who doesn't like to sit down, relax and listen to the Christmas songs? Don't even get me started on decorating the Christmas tree, all of the stunning lights, the fascinating ornaments, and the sparkling gleaming star on top. Just hope you don't knock it over! Ok, who likes snowball fights? I mean, on Christmas you have giant amounts of snow, why not have a good old snowball fight? And if you are in Hawaii or Florida or some other place that doesn't get snow, you're missing out on the fun. I would suggest moving to New York, they have so much snow they can't keep the streets clean in winter. So to Florida, we send our regards. Wait, there's supposed to be a point to this paragraph? Well, uh, kids, don't give Santa a hard time, keep your Christmas list short. You could also say the same about Halloween, one of the most well known holidays to celebrate in the USA and Ireland. • 59. Halloween Story Of Halloween Once upon a time in Ireland, there was a man named Jack. One day on his way home from a party, after he had drunk too much, he met a demon. Frightened, he tied up the demon to a tree and drew the cross on it to restrain the devil. He told the demon: "If I let you go, you would have to help me to stay out of hell." They agreed to the deal, and the man let the demon go. When he died of old age, he could not go to Heaven because of all of his sins–from excessive eating to drinking and lying. When he was falling to Hell, he remembered the deal he had made with the devil and called on it. The demon came and helped him by throwing its flame at him. The man used a turnip to store the fire and therefore, did not fall into Hell. However, he could not go to Heaven either. He wandered about and survived by the flame from the demon. Now, the pumpkin replaced the turnip because pumpkin is easier to carve, and pumpkin carving became a fun activity on Halloween. That was a beautiful Halloween story to explain the holiday. In Buddhism, we compare carving and hollowing out the pumpkin to emptying all our irrationality and prejudices to free ourselves and bring out the light of the True Mind. On Halloween, we also put on costumes. This custom also originated from Ireland and spread from Europe to America. It has become commercialized and differed from the original form. The tradition of wearing costumes on Halloween started with the belief in demons who went door to door asking for people's ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 61. Narrative Essay About Pumpkin Pie I remember the day when I found out what a pumpkin pie from the bakery of my street was made of before the bakery never existed. It was a dark, frigid night in November, close to the week of Thanksgiving. Before that night, I loved that pumpkin pie for its flavor, especially its smoothness. This thought completely changed that night. November 15th was the day. My little brother, Jeff, was craving for some pumpkin pie, and as usual, my parents being biased, forced me to go fetch up some of that mouth–watering pumpkin pie. I really didn't want to go, but I had to. I forced Jeff to go with me, not knowing the danger I'll get him into. I took my dog, Mickey, with me so I could feel safe on the street during the night. In the neighborhood I live, when the sun sets, dangerous people lurk the streets. All three of us walked casually to the end of the street. We could really smell the delicious fragrances of desserts and pastries such as the beignet, upside–down cake, cannoli, but most importantly, the pumpkin pie. From its crust to its filling, the pumpkin pie brought me in the bakery. I left Mickey outside, as per the "No Dogs" policy. Jeff and I were waiting in the lobby, waiting for someone to take our order. A few minutes passed, and I began to get annoyed. "Mistress, anyone?!" I yelled out. "Pumpkin pie?" Jeff questioned. No one seemed to come out. At first, I thought that the owner forgot to close–up or something, but I could swear I could hear some noise from the kitchen. I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to (framework), activities are defined as "Actions designed and selected to support the development of performance skills and performance patterns to enhance occupational engagement" (AOTA, 2014, pg. S30). My group and I recently had the honor of completing two different activities with the life skills students, at the Wyoming Valley West Middle School in Kingston, Pennsylvania. The activities that we completed with the children were pumpkin painting, and completing a Halloween mask. The purpose of these activities were to show how an Occupation Therapy practitioner can work with children who have intellectual and physical disabilities, and understand their emotional and social needs, in a classroom setting. The environment played a key role in the completion of both activities. According to the OTPH–3 an environment is defined as "External physical and social conditions that surround the client and in which the client's daily life occupations occur" (AOTA. 2014, pg. S12). The first major inhibitor regarding the physical environment was that fact that the children were not placed in their normal classroom. Due to a recent mold issue, the students of the Wyoming Valley West Middle School were unexpectedly asked to move to the Wyoming Valley West High School. Since neither the students, nor the teachers were familiar with the classroom, they had a difficult time finding items such as paper towels. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 76. Safe Halloween Tips for a Safe Halloween It's hard to believe, but Halloween is just days away. Here are some tips to ensure that your kids stay safe while creating some memories that they'll have for life: Make sure that the annual pumpkin carving doesn't end with a trip to the ER. Small children should never be allowed to use a knife to cut the pumpkin. It's best to let them clean out the pumpkin and draw the face, then you carve out the design that they made. If your kids are older, there are carving kits that come with small saws that work better than knives. The saws reduce the chance of cuts, but you still need to closely supervise them. Help your child pick out a costume that fits well and will be safe to wear. Verify that it's fire proof or treated with fire retardant. If they are wearing a mask, make sure that the eye holes are large enough for them to have good peripheral vision. If your kids are carrying props such as toy swords or ... Use reflective tape on costumes or bags to help drivers see you. If you have a child aged 3 or under, do not let them have glow sticks/necklaces. These items contain chemicals that although low in toxicity, will still cause stinging and burning, if ingested. Make sure that if your child uses one of these glow sticks/necklaces, they keep it out of their mouth. If your children are young (or not so young!), be sure they know how to cross a street properly. • 78. Tuesdays With Morrie Rhetorical Analysis "We can leave the mountain anytime we want but those with ALS are prisoners in their own body"– Alex Williams. People with ALS start losing their ability to move as the disease goes through their body. In the Book Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom Morrie Schwartz has ALS and he tries to give away all of his wisdom before he dies. Morrie teaches people to live life through showing love to family, not hiding or being scared of aging and accepting that Death is natural. The first lesson Morrie teaches is that showing love to family is most important. Morrie says the family is the main foundation and we should love them because we never know when we could lose them. A wise quote from Morrie that proves we should show love for family is "The fact is, there is no foundation, no secure ground, upon which people my stand today if it isn't the family" (Albom 91). I agree with Morrie that family is the main foundation in life. Family will always help each other out any way possible so it is important to love family members. An example from my life is there was this one time I needed money for something I needed and I didn't have no money. So then my uncle ended up helping me out because it was important and family helps each other out when in need. The second lesson Morrie teaches is that don't be scared of aging, it is a natural thing. Morrie accepts aging because he is at that point in his life that he needs help moving around because he can't do it by himself especially with ALS. A wise Quote from Morrie that proves not to be afraid of aging is " Its very simple. As you grow, you learn more. If you stayed at twenty– two, you'd always be as ignorant as you were at twenty–two. Aging is not just decay, you know. Its growth. It's more than the negative that you're going to die, it's also the positive that you understand you're going to die, and that you live a better life because of it" (Albom 118). I agree with Morrie as a person gets older, they get wiser from experience that they learned over the years. I am not afraid of aging I learned How to accept it as a natural thing that everybody goes through. I noticed that I have gotten taller, stronger and I have noticed my deeper voice it's all a part of growing up. one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 80. Synopsis Of The Summer Spring Seasons That time of year is here. The weather has begun to change from the blistering July heat, to the cool evenings of September. There is no longer the need to flip channel after channel on the television to find something to watch since it is finally football season. The vivid green leaves are beginning to fade out and become different shades of brown, orange, and red. Leaves begin to fall from the upmost branches of the tree and float their way down to the ground. Kids gather around to collect the fallen leaves and jump into the enormous pile created by doing the chore of raking. Taste buds begin to water as the thought of warm cider and sweet pumpkin pie comes into the picture. The ladies begin to get out their favorite sweater, pair of jeans, and boots to wear out as the cooler nights approach. While every season has its own sense of wonder, autumn is the best one of them all. The paramount of this season is the plethora of activities that go on in a short amount of time.
