word game based on
Technology platform
Introduction-Digital Guru is a
multi-player, fast-paced, word
strategy game that is designed to
test your knowledge on the
various aspects of technology.
Key Features- Action packed, multi-player
platform, strategy-based word game, time-based
suspense, knowledge based, real-time
platform
Description- This game tests your technology knowledge
against other players through a timed word game that
prompts you to name an item on the spot. To add an
element of suspense, some cards require players to use a
specific letter for the answer, move back spaces or move
forward spaces. It all comes down to the luck of the draw.
Platform- Multi-player game for 2-4 players, ages 16 and up. Game
can be played in any location and does not require a computer.
4. 1. To begin the game, each
player selects a game piece
and places it on a selected
start circle. Game pieces will
remain on start until a
question is answered
correctly. One player shuffles
the deck of playing cards to
mix them up evenly.
2. The player whose name
comes first in the alphabet
starts the game by drawing a
card from the top of the pile.
The player reads the card
aloud and answers within 10
seconds, followed by the
other players answering
within 10 seconds, in a
clockwise direction.
3. Once every player has
answered the question,
players that gave an
acceptable answer within 10
seconds, that was not
duplicated, may move their
game piece from the start
circle to the first space on the
game board.
4. The game continues in a
clockwise direction with
players alternating turns
reading the cards aloud and
answering questions until a
player reaches the center.
The first player to reach the
center wins.
5. In the event of a tie,
applicable players must
participate in a challenge to
declare the winner. In the
challenge, a player not
competing draws the top
card from the deck and reads
the question aloud. The
player that successfully
answers first wins.
6. The winner of the game
receives a paper certificate
titled, Digital Guru. The
certificate can be kept and
personalized with the
winner’s name.
5. 2. Players are allowed 10 seconds to answer a
question and may not duplicate an answer already
given. Players that exceed the time limit or
duplicate another player’s answer will result in no
movement of that player’s game piece.
1. Questions that call for a
specific letter must be
answered with words that
begin with that letter to move
forward.
3. Players may answer questions
requiring a proper name with the
first or last name of the person, if
the answer requires a specific
letter to be used.
4. Spy cards may not be applied twice in a row to a specific player, another player must be
chosen to accept the spy card. For example, if a player was told to move back one space and
then another player draws a spy card the next round, that player cannot apply the spy card
to the person that was just asked to move back a space. Players will not be asked to move
game piece back beyond start on the game board when assigned to move back.
5. Game pieces will remain on
start until a question is
answered correctly. Likewise, if
a player is chosen from a spy
card to move back a space, they
must do so.
