1. Location Recce
In my film I plan on using two main locations: My house and Bournemouth train
station. I plan on filming in two rooms of my house, the platform at
Bournemouth train station and inside a train.
Location One – “Sarah’s House” – The Kitchen and The Living Room.
I plan on using my house as Sarah’s house and I picked this location for many
reasons. Firstly, as I live in this location it is easy for me to film and arrange
dates to film. I know the limitations of the house and I am familiar with the
location making my pre-production easier to plan and my film easier to shoot. I
think that it is a perfect location as it is a family home and perfect to bring up a
child in so therefore would seem more believable to the audience. As I am also
using a young child in my film (my cousin) it is important that he does not feel
uncomfortable while we are shooting the film and he is in front of the camera so
as he is familiar with my house, shooting the film will be more relaxed and it will
be a lot easier to film.
These are the two locations in my house that I will be using for Sarah’s house.
However in my film there will not be any Christmas decorations
Location Two: “The Train Station” – Bournemouth Train Platform
I have chosen this particular location, as it is the closest train station to where I
live. This makes travelling to the location for shooting days a lot easier as it will
take me as little time as possible to get there. I am also familiar with this train
station for filming at the platform will be easier than if I were to film at a
different platform. For my film the platform didn’t need to be specific to anything
in particular so Bournemouth train station is perfect for my film.
2. This is Bournemouth train station and a train similar to the one that I will be
riding to shoot my footage from inside the train.
