3. First Style model analysis
In this model the main text is kept to a single
column on the right hand side of the page. The
text is all in the same font and to help
distinguish between the story there is a colour
scheme of red, gold and white that are
alternated. I decided to use this idea in my
media product as the organisation makes it
easier for the audience to read. However I
wanted my image to be to one side, therefore I
used the text on the left hand side of the page.
I also liked the colour scheme, but I decided to
change the gold and used grey instead.
5. Second Style Model
This style model has been a great inspiration to me.
For example, the mast head is not typical of a
magazine it is a box in the left corner and choose to
use this as it makes my magazine different to others
like it. I also liked the way the main story’s text is
across the bottom and takes up a large amount of
space on the front cover, this allows the audience to
instantly relate the image to the story. I also decided to
a banner at the top of my page similar to my style
model. As this allowed me to add more information
about the magazine, and not clutter the page. In fact I
chose to add two banners one at the top of my page
and one at the bottom, here I have broke conventions
as many magazines have only one or no banners. By
doing this I have added more information with out the
page being over powered by text.
6. My Media Product
I think my product has broke many
conventions of a music magazine, firstly
the genre isn’t stereotypical and is directed
at a niche audience. However it don’t look
like a musical theatre magazine specifically
as the images and colour scheme aren’t
stereotypically to do musical theatre, this is
because I want to bring musical theatre up
to date with modern audiences, therefore
my magazine is based around how rock is
used within the genre. In the small number
of musical theatre magazines already
established there main image is normally
on stage showing the full production, I
decide to use a more contemporary
magazine idea of a image that is cut out
onto a background of your choice.
