3. Conventions of my music
magazine “Onbeat”
.Eye contact is a important part of the magazine cover
because it creates a connection between the cover artist
and reader
.The band cover nearly all the page this is to show that
the they are the main attraction of this magazine .The
title and band name is there to support the image .
.The background is one color so that the main image
stands out from the background.
. The Masthead is a different font from the rest of the
text on the front cover this is so it stands out and people
can identify the magazine .I also used a pinky and blue
color theme as that is the colors of the magazine .

4. Headlines
The text is quite big and unique this is identifying what type of Band the rising
moon are It shows they are here , they are the band the world is talking about,
the fact that it uses a unique font implies that everyone should know who this
band are .
Also I used the name of the bandThe rising moon because it’s the name of the
cover band and helps the few people who might not know them identify them.

5. Masthead
My magazine is like a typical magazine the Masthead is at the top of the Page , this is so if it
is on a shelf it is visible to the person looking for it.
It covers a lot of the page so that if the reader is looking for this magazine they can identify
the magazine or they can spot it on the magazine on the shelf .
I have used a bright color with a darker background and a futuristic text .This would help
people remember the brand and the futuristic text helps suggest the style of music we will
see in the magazine

6. Selling lines
This is next to the masthead it can oftenly sell the magazine if the person is looking at it

7. Coverlines
On the sides of the page I have aliened text this is
so that no text is covering the faces of the band
The bands name is relatively clear
There is a margin on the text so that it will all line
up and words won’t drop off the page and it looks
neat and tidy .

On the left hand side you have part of Q magazines
contents page I used this as inspiration on mine
because it tells you the main points of the magazine
and who you can expect to find in this edition .Also the
writing is big and clear numbers are easy to identify .
I used one column in my Contents page this identifies
who it needs to identify and what the reader needs to
know .

10. • I used some relatively basic photos which I took .Because I want the
reader to realise its okay to stand out likeWill in the main pictures is
wearing a pink and black jumper, this is to help him stand out from the
rest of the people in todays music market and Noah is wearing a suit with
a dj backdrop .
• With the two backdrops on the pictures of Sam and Jacob then Noah it
makes the page more vibrant and helps it feel a bit more alive rather than
just plain white.
