2. One of the things I have been able to establish through my audience feedback is things in which the audience thought was done well
within the trailer as well as the things in which could have been done better. For instance after being shown my trailer the audience was
instantly able to comment on the location in which my trailer was filmed (the woods), it was commented that by using this it is able to
create a horror atmosphere and the woods are very isolated which makes it easier when wanting to carry out my storyline. The woods
was instantly one of the first options in which I was going to use from the initial primary research that I had done on my target market.
This is the question in which I had chosen to ask my target audience and the responses that I
was able to receive from all of the participants. I also had a number of other options in which
I could of otherwise decided to film my trailer but from the options in which was chosen by
the audience it was most clear that the most popular option was the woods which is why I
had decided to use the woods.
However when looking at the woods location it had been said that the location in which I
had chosen wasn’t as isolated as a normal woods and was near a selection of house in which
could be established from some of the beginning shots and therefore it could have been
better if it was in a more isolated woods so that if it was to be within a real film it would
harder for the protagonist to try and get help because it would be harder to find people
around. However because whilst filming my trailer no one was around and therefore it came
across very quiet and isolated it was able to work well with the idea that I had.
Another thing in which I was able to receive from my audience feedback about the location was the different locations in which I
could of also used. It was said that although I did use three locations, as a way of creating more mystery and tension within the
trailer I could of shown different parts of what would be the movie about the protagonist so that the audience are able to get a
better idea of who she is within the trailer. This would then mean that I would need to use more locations when wanting to try
and show this as well and mix it together efficiently in order to make it look as much like a trailer as possible because I would have
had clips from a number of different scenes.
3. Therefore there is a number of different things in which I am able to receive from my audience feedback and in doing so I am able to look at
the different things in which has been said that I could do in order to improve in their opinions. The information I would then need to take
into consideration and it is likely that a couple of things would then be changed as it would be coming from my target audience and I would
be aiming to try and please them as best as possible. For instance how the audience said I should use a wider variety of location as it seems
as if the majority was filmed mainly within the woods.
From receiving comments like this I will be able to make a number of changes to my trailer in which could improve, it will also help when
wanting to make sure that the trailer is as successful as possible amongst my target audience. If I was to make another trailer I would then
therefore be able to know the things in which I shouldn’t included within the trailer from the things in which had been brought up after
watching my initial trailer. This therefore gives me a better idea of the types of things in which would need to be used in horror trailers from
the preference of the target audience which I would then use in the future.
It would also therefore be beneficial within the pre-production stage as the responses in which I was able to collect from my primary
research as the questions in which I would be asking would be based around the feedback in which I would be receiving, this is important
as most of the responses in which I would have collected from my questionnaire would have the foundation of ideas in which I would be
using when wanting to conduct a trailer.
