2. Whilst constructing this media product there have been many
different technologies that I have learnt about and had to used. I
was first introduced to a mac which was a piece of equipment that
I had never dealt with before. So the entire process I found quite
confusing and did struggle with along the way. Not only did I have
to get to grips with the difference in layout between a mac and
windows software. But I had to learn to use different editing
software’s such as adobe after affect’s and adobe premier pro. For
me I found premier pro the most challenging to work with. I found
that I would often mix up different processes or I would embed the
film footage correctly causing it to stop adobe editing it. Or when
using after affects my biggest problem was getting the text to
appear on the screen at the right time whilst being in the right
font and animation.
3. Another massive technology I have used isTumblr. It has helped me to
document my progression throughout this project. I have been able to
upload my work in a range of different media and chronologically
order my work so it makes sense. Not only hasTumblr has caused me
to upload in a range of media but it has caused me to out source
different platforms that I didn’t know I would need. For instance in
order to upload a presentation toTumblr I would have to go through
other mainstream sights,
Another new technology that I had learned to use whilst constructing
this media product was recording on a film footage camera.Which
might seem simple to most but in our preliminary task my main role
was editing the footage. And I didn’t get much hands on time using
the camera to record live action. Whereas in our film opening there
was more roles to share out then there was in our preliminary task
which meant we all had to record some part of the opening. Not only
was it learning to record the footage but it was learning to film in
difficult or unusual places. For instance there is one scene where your
looking from the protagonists point of view, which had to be filmed
from under a bed. Its instances like these that I feel I progressed from
the preliminary task.
4. Amongst learning to film on a recording camera I had to adapt to
converging technologies alongside filming. When filming our
preliminary task we hadn’t really been introduced to new
technologies so the use of light boxes and microphones didn’t
seem necessary.Whereas in our film opening we didn’t have
spotlights in the locations we were using to film so we had to
improvise and use small lightboxes on tripods in order to get the
lighting we needed.
Overall I feel that I have made huge progression since the
preliminary task and I feel that, it can be seen when comparing the
two films.
