2. Final Cut
I had never used final cut express before, and was
very new to using a Mac, it therefore took me a
while to just get used to the basics, I quickly
learnt techniques on how to get around and use
final cut. I learnt how to upload footage and then
how to place it into a timeline, also how to cut and
snip footage which was really useful when trying
to create jumpy effects for my horror opening. I
also learnt how to edit the colours which again
helped when trying to create horror scenes.
3. Livetype
Again I had never used this before, but quickly
managed to find my way around the programme.
I learnt how to important fonts I found on the
internet to the programme which at first sounded
it hard but was actually very easy. I also learnt
how to change the sizes of individual letters and
also there location which helped a lot when
creating the titles to the opening as it enabled me
to make them look typical of a horror film. I also
learned how to reopen the lettering into final cut
so I could include them into my opening.
4. Youtube
Before this course I had never had a youtube
account before, I found this fairly easy to set up,
however when uploading my final film opening it
seemed rather challenging at first as I had to
convert it into an appropriate file type for it to be
uploaded to YouTube, however I knew with
practise that this would become easier. I learnt
that using youtube became a very easy and clear
way of me and others to view my work.
