offer training to trainers and trainees including downscaling climate change model including
downscaling techniques and interpretations.
2. To undertake sub region short course training to trainers and researchers in the Seven Zonal
Agricultural Research to enhance the resilience of the stakeholders within agriculture sector.
Key Activities
1. Development of Training Materials
2. Capacity building in downscaling climate change models
3. Short course to agricultural stakeholders on climate change adaptation and modeling
4. Monitoring and evaluation of training impacts
5. Preparation and production of project report
Key Deliverables
1. Reports on stakeholders view on training needs
2. Workshop report
3. Different kind of training materials for various groups
4. Training reports, training modules, training materials, case studies, problem sets, field observation
sites, computer based practical cases on modeling
5. Training report on training of trainers
6. Monitoring and evaluation framework
7. Monitoring and evaluation , Project progress and final reports
Expected Outcomes
1. To contribute towards increased capacity of climate researchers in understanding how to apply
knowledge on climate change models downscaling in setting appropriate adaptation measures at
zonal scale.
2. Increase capacity to adapt to climate change impacts through training and action research on
different crops and livestock.
3. To make agriculture innovation system works in responses to climate change.
4. To widen the scope of scientists and other stakeholders on climate issues including perceptions,
impacts, vulnerabilities, adaptation and mitigation based on local and scientific evidence.
