• Hippocrates, food had to change according the clima and the seasons. He
believed it influence the moods. In winter, a period in which the cold and the
humidity predominate, it would be preferable to consume meats with sauce,
cooked with hot spices; in the spring, when the heat and humidity prevail, I
advised to gradually move from the pot food to eat more green vegetables; in
summer, when the heat prevails, it would be time to eat lighter foods like
grilled meats and fish, preferring cold and moist foods like melon, plums or
cherries; in autumn, a period when the cold begins, it would be necessary to
eat appetizing and mildly acidic foods to eject melancholy, as well as reduce
the consumption of wine and fruit.
