There should be a big push to get these courses completed and
in master courses status by mid-July since there are colleges
which need the master course to teach Fall 2014
 90% of the course content has to be original
created material
only10% 3rd party proprietary
 Advanced manufacturing course redesigned
for online delivery(we choose hybrid)
 All content (material) created or touched by
grant funds must be published to OER
 Hybrid I: Courses in which at least 30%
but no more than 70% of the instruction
is delivered outside of a face-to-face
context.
 Online: Courses in which at least 71% of
the instruction is delivered outside of a
face-to-face context.

Look at the CCNS and your existing course and lay out all
everything you do in that course from day 1 in week 1 until
the last day in week 16…then put that info into the course
map
Build the Master Course to include both the F2F and the
Hybrid content.
Keeping in mind that a typical advanced manufacturing
course will have 30% hybrid content and 70% F2F content the
master course should contain 100% of the content.
We are creating master courses that can be taught “straight off
the shelf” without much tweaking .
 Terms of the grant
 There are over 500 courses covered by the grant which would
need to be redesigned to hybrid courses and published to OER
 Efficiency in resources if we create only 225 master courses
and publish to OER
 Articulation of courses and certificates/degrees to 4-year
institutions will depend upon evaluation of courses
 The master courses will be those that are evaluated
 Emphasizes the importance of building complete master
courses
 Define Delivery of each course in your
certificate and degree program as Hybrid
(blended) or Online
 % of course content, material curricula that
will be in OER
 Number of Credits
I will be doing quarterly reviews of courses and OER using
the guidelines from TACT 1 and TACT2 and again the % add
up to the 100% of master course
 5% Syllabus, course competencies, course calendar
 15-20% Module overview, lecture notes, module activity
lists
 15-45% Module readings, student handouts, presentations,
worksheets, assignment instructions, lab assignments,
projects instructions, video links, embedded videos,
outside web links, topic outlines, note pages
 10% Discussion Questions
 20% Assessments, rubrics, grading sheets, tests, quizzes

  • 3. There should be a big push to get these courses completed and in master courses status by mid-July since there are colleges which need the master course to teach Fall 2014
  • 4.  90% of the course content has to be original created material only10% 3rd party proprietary  Advanced manufacturing course redesigned for online delivery(we choose hybrid)  All content (material) created or touched by grant funds must be published to OER
  • 5.  Hybrid I: Courses in which at least 30% but no more than 70% of the instruction is delivered outside of a face-to-face context.  Online: Courses in which at least 71% of the instruction is delivered outside of a face-to-face context.
  • 6. Create a Course Map Build the Master Course Master Courses should contain 100% of the course content Published to OER Look at the CCNS and your existing course and lay out all everything you do in that course from day 1 in week 1 until the last day in week 16…then put that info into the course map Build the Master Course to include both the F2F and the Hybrid content. Keeping in mind that a typical advanced manufacturing course will have 30% hybrid content and 70% F2F content the master course should contain 100% of the content. We are creating master courses that can be taught “straight off the shelf” without much tweaking .
  • 7.  Terms of the grant  There are over 500 courses covered by the grant which would need to be redesigned to hybrid courses and published to OER  Efficiency in resources if we create only 225 master courses and publish to OER  Articulation of courses and certificates/degrees to 4-year institutions will depend upon evaluation of courses  The master courses will be those that are evaluated  Emphasizes the importance of building complete master courses
