The Irresponsible Minors
When minors browse the web they come across social media networks and become unaware of their
actions. The irresponsible minors post inappropriate pictures, comments, and links that cause them to
get reported and obtain a teen criminal record. The monitor asserts those teens have bad decision–
making skills that shouldn't be accounted for as they transition into an adult. I agree with The
Monitor's argument because of personal experience. Before Facebook there was a social media
network called Myspace and it wasn't as restricted as Facebook but when I was in my teens I would
post inappropriate comments on there just because I was immature and was free to type whatever I
wanted. Well I got reported and my account got deactivated. I believe if

Counseling Minors: The Legal Rights of Minors
The following essay summarizes prescriptions for counselors in the following factors: counseling
minors, legal rights of the minors, the rights of the parents, release of records, confidentiality, and
reporting suspected abuse or neglect. The ACA and NBCC websites will be accessed for primary
material and this will be substantiated by secondary sources. Counseling minors: the legal rights of
the minors The minor, according to law, is considered so below the age of 18 since this is the age
when he can legally and most rationally decide for himself. Many practitioners concede that mature
decisions can be, generally, expected from minors who are age 14 and upwards. Consequently, many
of the principals inherent in the counseling situation that involve a minor depend, to a great extent
on the age of the minor in question. The older the minor, the more rights are granted since it is,
naturally, considered that an older minor can make a more rational and mature decision. Another
guideline that can stand for determining when a client is sufficiently competent is that defined by
Hall and Lin (1995) who noted that a rational client is one who: (a) attends to the decision task at
hand, (b) delays a decision response until the decision–making process is completed, (c) weigh
treatment alternatives, (d) considers risks associated with different treatment alternatives, and (e)
estimate costs and consequences of choosing or not choosing various treatment alternatives (p. 65).

Minor Resentment Analysis
A fourth exception to minor consent pertains to HIV diagnostic testing and treatment as well as
sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing, treatment and prevention. Analysis was performed in a
2012 study which considered the state adolescent consent laws and implications for HIV and STI's
prevention, diagnosis and treatment. The findings are concerning. The study states, "No states
expressly prohibits minor's access to HIV or STI prevention methods or testing. All states expressly
allow some minors to consent to medical care for the diagnosis or treatment, but only eight allow
consent to preventive services. Thirty–four states expressly allow minors to consent to services.

How My Major and Minor Will Help in My Endeavors
Explaining the importance of my major and minor is very simple. My major will be general
business; the reasoning behind this choice is I have always been fascinated by business. I loved my
economics classes which fueled my interest for investing and looking at companies and gauging
their worth and risk. In this regard i feel like having a general business degree will help me find a
job in anything business as I will have a wide spread knowledge on the topic, while I do love
business that is not my main goal. To understand that you have to look at my minor, this will be
communications.
I have always been a people person, I loved talking with everyone about anything and understanding
their interests and expressing my own. In the past semester I took a speech class and found I really
enjoyed it which got me thinking about what i wanted to do when I graduate. This is when it all
comes together. My major is business which will give me the background into business that I need.
My minor is communications which will give me the skills I need to go into either public relations
or a salesman for a large company. I feel the importance of these degrees should be easily
identifiable. Everyone needs someone to talk for and be the face for a large company. That is where
I see myself in ten years, working for a company as a public relations representative. My degree in
business will give me credibility and know how into the subject while my communications minor

Rights For Minors
Rights for Minors Minors do not have the same rights and privileges as adults do. They wish they
could have those rights, but society thinks differently. First, when people are in public, they all have
to follow by federal laws or they will get put into court, fined or locked up. Minors publicly don't
have the same rights as adults. Most children by law have a curfew. Ages 13 and under during the
school year have to be in by 8pm and 9pm in the summer, ages 14 and 15 during the school year
have to be in at 9pm and 10pm in the summer and ages 16 and 17 during the school year have to be
in by 10pm and 11pm during the summer. Minors think that curfew is absurd because when they get
with their friends and they are hanging out and having fun, they tend to lose track of time and then
their parents call them in at approximately 8:00 pm and their friends can stay out until around ...

A Procative Approach To Improving Minor League Baseball...
Under the protection of Major League Baseball's ("MLB") longtime antitrust exemption, Minor
League Baseball ("MiLB") has continuously redefined and reshaped itself according to Baseball's
overall needs. But while MLB salaries have increased dramatically since the MLB reserve clause
was broken in 1975, the salaries of minor league players have not followed suit. On February 7,
2014, a group of minor league players led by former minor leaguer Aaron Senne filed a class action
complaint against MLB and three MLB clubs alleging violations of minimum wage and hour laws.
According to the complaint, most minor leaguer earn between $3,000 and $7,500 working between
fifty and seventy hours per week during the five month season. The wage and ... Show more content

Once a player is placed on a club's 40–man roster, he is entitled to the minimum salary prescribed in
the Basic Agreement, which for 2014 is $500,000 for MLB service and $81,500 for MiLB service.
Historically, while the average minor league salary has risen by just 75 percent since 1976, the
average MLB salary has risen by approximately 2,000 percent thanks in part to union representation
and open markets. Regardless of the legality of the claims raised in Senne, MLB has an ethical
responsibility to change the current system to ensure that minor league players are not living in
poverty by fairly compensating them for their hard work, both financially and with other intrinsic
compensation. A proactive approach that balances the interests of players and the financial needs of
clubs can solve these issues while retaining the development structure that clubs rely on. First and
most simply, MLB should increase monthly salaries for minor league players. Having players paid
below the poverty line is embarrassing for an organization that produces over $8 billion in revenue
per year. To answer this concern, MLB clubs can take advantage of the colossal jumps in television
revenue to increase salaries. MLB can also help, perhaps using some of the $750 million added per
season by their new national media contracts. By multiplying the current figures by 2.5 (see Figure
2), a structure is created that gives all

Minors and Abortion: Parental Consent Must be Mandatory
How can a child make the decision for the life of another child by themselves? In this paper I will
outline the mental, physical, and safety issues of minors (age 18 and under) having an abortion and
why it is so important that they need to get parental consent before making this life long decision.
Talking about abortion brings out an emotional response in many women. This is because having an
abortion takes a massive emotional toll on some women. As Nanyjo Mann said, three weeks after
having an abortion, "I became preoccupied with the thoughts of death. I fantasized about how I
would die. My baby struggled for two hours" (Reardon, 1987, p. xviii). In the forward of the book

I think most would feel terrible. Having a law that enforces girls, under 18 years, to inform their
parents when she wants to get an abortion would make the process much easier and safer on the
child and the family. It would also make parents feel like better protectors to know what's going on
in their daughters life and help her make the correct decision. There are also the suicide rates of
women who have had abortions to think about. As shown in a table from the book Woman's Health
After Abortion, The Medical and Psychological Evidence (Ring–Cassidy and Gentles p. 197 Table
14–2) the U.S annual suicide rate per 100,000 women aged 15–44 who have not had an abortion is
5.2 and the number that have had an abortion is 7.8. The number who have had abortions is
significantly higher, relating back to the emotional struggles of abortion . If your daughter was in so
much pain and depression that she decided to commit suicide over the issue, how would you feel not
even knowing about it? By talking to your child about it and being there for them along the way
there would be less of a risk of unfortunate situations such as suicide, depression and post abortion
complications. On the other hand, privacy and confidentiality are very important things that doctors
and other health care workers take seriously. In many states you do not need parental consent for
getting an abortion when you are under 18 (2009, Rutgers University). Where this is the case,

Should Minors Be Punished?
In today 's society, the crime rate is increasing daily. Not only has it increased by adults committing
crimes, it has also increased by minors committing violent crimes. The issue of this situation is
punishing minors appropriately. Many believe that minors should never be tried as adults while
others believe that minors should most definitely be left to be punished for their actions. I believe
that minors should be punished as adults according to the crime reasons being, any criminal should
have to suffer for the crime, learn from their mistakes, and keep every criminal off the streets.
The Juvenile Justice System has become very outdated. Teens have become more advanced. Teens
have also become more exposed to criminal activity. There are many kids of have seen many things
that the eyes of a child should never have to see. Mary Onelia Estudillo says, "The juvenile justice
system was originally created to provide individualized rehabilitation to offenders of minor crimes
such as truancy, shoplifting, and vandalism. But youth today are taking advantage of this lenient and
outdated system and are committing violent crimes because they believe they will get off easy."
Most teens are starting to actually believe they're too young to be punished as adults. These beliefs
are causing teens to try anything, no matter how bad of a crime.
Teens have started to take advantage of the leniency of the justice system. No criminal should be left
in the streets to only continue committing

Prostitution of Minors
Prostitution of minors occurs all around the world. We do not notice because it may not concern us,
and it is difficult to act when something does not affect us in any way. It affects you if you have
children or nieces who are under age right now selling themselves to help out their families who are
in need of money. What would you do right then to help them get out of that situation? That's what's
going on in Europe right now when you visit, is the same thing that is happening in Mexico. There
are many young girls selling themselves because they have to work to support their family. I had a
personal experience with this issue when I took a trip down to Mexico with my cousins once. It was
around 1:00 a.m, and we were heading back to the borderline to cross back into the U.S. On our way
there I saw an empty building that was full of women and children standing outside. I told my
cousin to stop, and I got out of the car to ask a girl who looked to be around 9 or 10 years old, what
she was doing there I will never forget her words, " I came here to work to help out with money
because right now I'm the only one who can". I told my cousin to help the girl with some money she
could go home for the day, so that she did not have to do this at least for a day. Those words of hers
have stuck with me to this day. Seeing these children out there that have to resort to these acts to
support their family seems unfair because they are not the parents. The parents should be the

Victimization of Minor Characters in Laura Esquivel's...
In a novel, minor characters are never the focus of the plot. Minor characters are present in a novel
to affect the major characters and help the character development of the major characters. Minor
characters influence the major characters in many ways. One of these ways of supporting the major
characters, is the victimization of the minor characters. Two excellent examples of minor characters
that impact the major characters of the novels due to the minor characters being victimized is Nacha
in Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel and Monica in Silence by Shusaku Endo. Father
Rodrigues met Monica for the first time shortly after he has been betrayed by Kichijiro. From the

Monica offered Father Rodrigues a cucumber, showing her respect for him by giving him what little
food she had to offer. From this small yet generous offer made by Monica, Father Rodrigues
reflected on his mission to Japan.
Since coming to this country, he reflected, he had caused nothing but hardship to these poor
Christians, and he nibbled at the cucumber with his front teeth. He had received from them the little
hut in which he had dwelt, they had given him the clothing he now wore, he had eaten their food.
Now it was his turn to give them something. But what could he give? The only thing he had to offer
was his life and his death (Endo 81).
Monica was already malnourished, yet she selflessly offered her only food to Father Rodrigues, a
man she had never encountered before. This was huge to Father Rodrigues and it made him question
what he can do to help her in return. Monica?s impact and the victimization made Father Rodrigues
question whether or not his coming to Japan really worth it or not. He realized that he had only
created more hardships for the Christian peasants that he had encountered throughout Japan.
However, at the same time, Father Rodrigues also realized that many of the Christians looked up to
him and were thankful that Father Rodrigues would try to come and help them. Monica, through her
being victimized, helped Father Rodrigues decide his fate in the end, dying as a martyr, or living and

Unaccompanied Minors
Imagine leaving your home country all on your own at the age of nine and finally making your way
to another country where you are not welcomed and could be sent back to your home country where
it is not safe. Instances like this take place every day for children and they are all alone with
nowhere to go. Real life examples like this are why unaccompanied minors need protection. The
United States should protect unaccompanied minors from Central America due to a child's reason
for leaving their home country, their vulnerability, and the U.S. has an obligation under set laws and
programs.
Firstly, a child's reason for leaving their country should be a factor on how much they are protected
by the United States. To elaborate, a child who left home to get away from home because they did
not like the rules they had to follow from their parents is a lot different than a child leaving home
due to being a refugee. The child who left home due to not agreeing with the household rules should
be sent back home safely while the child who is a refugee should stay in the U.S. and ensure safety
and protection. Additionally, "while a child may have multiple reasons for leaving his or her country,
children from the Northern Triangle consistently cite gang or cartel violence as a ... Show more

The Abortion For A Minor
Support legislation and opposition Relating to notice of and consent to an abortion for a minor.
Abortion for minors is a major public health concern in the United States. There are more than
300,000 births to teens each year, increasing the risk of both the mother and the baby's health.
Abortions on minors have raised political, clinical, social, and economic awareness. In order to
make effective changes to abortion for the minor one must produce empirical evidence, to evaluate
policy options for persons involved in public health policy and legislation. In January 2000, Texas
enacted a law requiring physicians to notify the parent before an abortion is done with a minor, or

The only way for minors to seek abortion without involving their parents is to petition for a judicial
bypass, from the courts. Most States are now being applying the parental involvement of one or
more parent to be notified or consent before a minor daughter legally has an abortion. Some states
require one of two types of parental involvement, which involves notifying one or both Parent. So
far about 38 states now required some type of parental involvement in a minor 's decision to have an
abortion. Out of these 38 states, 21 of the states require one or both parents to give consent to the
procedure, 12 require one or both parents be notified and 5 require both consent and notification
before an elective abortion can occur. Three of these require both parents to consent. The parental
involvement laws from the Court have clarified the legal position on abortion regulation making it
difficult for a female goes for an abortion. (Guttmacher, 2013). In Texas, the parental notification
and consent laws had an effect on birth and abortion rates for minors with notification laws reducing
birth and abortion rate with the 16 – 17 year old females. There is a decline in teen pregnancy in the

My Cherished Constellation is Ursa Minor, also known as the little dipper. I have always been

brightest stars and most significant stars in the sky, the North Star (or Polaris). This constellation

A new Class A minor league baseball team called the Nor'easters is coming to Springfield, MA.

Springfield is located 90 miles away from Boston and is the third largest city in Massachusetts.
Springfield had lost many high wage residents resulting in 3.6% drop in average wages since 1990.

This idea would be a great alternative since it brings in more fans and revenue without using many
seats to do so and also increases the Springfield Nor'easters entertainment value and name as a fun
location for kids. In addition to fun, we'll sell food from concession stands or cater to the parties
needs. We would designate a section of the stadium for large groups to rent if they just want to sit
down and watch the game. These sections in the stadium are located in the left and right field lines
of the stadium oppose of each other. Space is plentiful as we estimate attendance to increase. Kid's
parties may bring in 20–30 students in their class along with 2 parents. This will increase attendance
an estimated 60–90 people per party. If you include siblings, friends, or facility members, attendance
can potentially amount to over 100/party. An estimated 100 in attendance with an average
concession stand rate of $11–$13/person can amount to roughly to $1,100–$1,300 in increase
revenue not including the rental of the party zone location.
Solution 2:
Shuttle service Another solution consists of providing shuttle buses for college students as the case
provided students didn't have proper transportation to the baseball stadium. To fill in stands at the
stadium I recommend we discount these tickets for students since they don't really have a lot of
money to spend.

Macbeth Minor Characters
William Shakespeare is known for his amazing use of minor characters to display themes and be
assets to whatever the major character is going through. In the process, Shakespeare generates major
interest from the readers for these minor characters. One may ask, why do I feel so strongly for these
characters? The answer cannot be any clearer; it is because they are presented in a major manner
even though they are minor and in the short amount of time they are seen in the play, they make
themselves stick to the readers. A prime example of this rare capability is presented in Shakespeare's
Macbeth. In this tragedy, Macduff's family is killed in cold blood. But for the amount of time they
were presented in the play, one scene in Act IV Scene ii, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lady Macduff's first words are both a question and an allegation. She asks "What had he done to
make him fly the land."(IV.ii.1) This allows one to believe that she thinks the only way Macduff
would leave is if he did something wrong. Lady Macduff then accuses Macduff of not loving him.
The anger, hurt, and feelings of betrayal behind the words of Lady Macduff immediately makes the
audience enamored and captivated by her presence and yearn for her to find out the truth; that
Macduff is not a traitor, but a hero, trying to save the face of the crown. In the situation of Macduff's
son, he's confused as to whether his father is a traitor or not and he denies his father's death twice
during this scene. Once when his mother insists and a second time, shouting to the second murderer
"Thou liest though shag–haired villain!"(IV.ii.79) This demonstrates Macbeth's son loyalty for his
father, even he is confused as to what a traitor is and unsure if his father is alive or dead. Macduff's
son's unwavering loyalty for his father warms the heart of those reading and allows them to feel
horror at hid death commanded by no other than the tyrannical

voidable at the minors disclosure. Some necessities can include, shelter, food.water, clothing. If a
minor is taken advantage of, for example, being told the price of something is more than it really is,
a candy bar is 10$ at the register but $1 on the price tag, the minor may get the difference in relief.
The statute in Massachusetts says that a minor can enter a contract such as a lease, renting an
apartment, or public housing. With housing terms, housing may be considered a necessity,
depending on the minor's status. However Massachusetts courts have not clearly defined whether
they view housing as a necessity. Public housing agencies are not required to determine whether

Massachusetts have adopted the " mature minor rule', which entails, if a doctor believes the child is
mature enough and able to give consent to medical care and it is in the best interest to the minor not
to notify the minor's parents, the doctor then may accept the minor's consent.Minors may also

Minors And The Medical Decision Making
Minors rights in medical decision making As we grow up, we hear it time and time again... "When
you're an adult you can do whatever you want." We heard it when were driving our parents crazy
about wanting to grow up just a little too fast. We are taught that in the eye of the law, we must wait
until we hit our eighteenth birthday to do things like play the lottery, to move out, to vote, or to go to
a club. We must be nineteen to buy cigarettes, 21 to drink alcohol, 25 to rent a car, but when we
thing aout it more deeply and zoom in closer on the criminal justice system we see minors
differently. In fact, According to legal experts the youngest person in modern U.S. history to be
charged as an adult with first–degree murder was only 11 yeas old at the time he was sentenced
(http://www.loyno.edu/~wagues/article19.html). That same eleven year old that will not get out of
prison until he is a grown man, if at all, would not be able to consent to non–emergency medical
care. A general practitioner in a non–emergency situation could not treat him without a parent or
guardian giving the go–ahead. . It is important to first identify what rights that minors do have when
it comes to their medical decisions and care. In every state, statutes regarding minor's permission to
consent for medical care depends on the child's"status," or on the "service" that they are seeking.
Status in which a minor under the age of 18 can consent to medical care include cases in which a

Minor Dyslexia
The process of writing was one that as a kid loomed over me because the idea of expressing the
feelings that were inside out onto a paper always stumped me. How could I be asked to take what
was held privately in my head and manage to make sense of it all, enough that others could
understand? The struggle to manage my feelings into tangible ideas stemmed from my minor
dyslexia and it was apparent in my ability to read and write. The spelling errors that riddled my
writing and my inability to differentiate opposites while speaking were clear indicators that my
minor dyslexia was something that I would have to live with. Going through the typical public
school tract was not one that favored those with learning disabilities. In elementary and

Eritrean Minors
Eritrea, a small country in the Horn of Africa, has been labeled the "North Korea of Africa." Eritrea
is a relatively new country that gained its independence in 1993 after a 30–year war with its
neighboring country Ethiopia (Stevis and Parkinson, WSJ). Disputes over the border, however,
continued until 1998 and tensions prevail to this day. The Eritrean government prohibits its citizens
from leaving the country and military conscription is mandatory for both male and female youths
starting at the age of 18. Today, unaccompanied Eritrean minors are leaving the totalitarian state in
massive numbers. In fact, unaccompanied Eritrean minors constitute one of the main groups of
migrant children travelling to Europe (New York Times, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Keetharuth states that "...Eritrea's military/national service programmes include arbitrary and
indefinite duration, often for years beyond the 18 months set out in the law; their involuntary nature;
the use of conscripts as forced labour, including manual labour; the inhumane conditions of service;
the rape and torture often associated with these military/national service programmes..." (Keetharuth
October 2016, p.1). Another factor, in addition to evading military conscription, that forces
unaccompanied minors to leave Eritrea is the high levels of poverty. Many Eritrean minors suffer
starvation level poverty and their living conditions are exacerbated by ineffective government
economic policies, a recent example would be the Eritrean government's introduction of new
currencies in 2015 and restrictions on cash flow. These two factors have lead to massive numbers of
unaccompanied Eritrean minors to leave the country. Unaccompanied minors are those who are
separated from their families and travel alone outside of their country. Unaccompanied Eritrean
minors who lack adult supervision are extremely vulnerable and at high–risk of abuse and sex–
trafficking when making the journey to Europe. Eritrean minors who desert their military duty or
those near the age of conscription are even more vulnerable because of the government's "shoot to
kill" border policy. In

Minor Consent In Adolescents
A third exception to minor consent is birth control. In the setting of contraception and sexual
healthcare, "The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) believe that policies supporting adolescent
consent and protecting adolescent confidentiality are in the best interests of adolescents" (AAP,
2014). The contraception pill is significant in reducing pregnancy rates, but can be contentious when
it comes to ethical, moral and religious views. It can also cause distress with parents when they find
out if parental consent is not required. This can be challenging for nurses who do not understand
state and federal laws and how they apply to minors and the use of birth control. The study states

COUNSELING MINORS: ETHICAL AND LEGAL 2 Mental health counselors have many things
to consider when working with clients. Providing services to clients comes with several
expectations. Some of the factors which counselors must be aware of include: cultural differences,

Although there is language that exists within the law to protect counselors who make reports of
suspected abuse or neglect, the same is not
COUNSELING MINORS: ETHICAL AND LEGAL 5 extended for failure to report such suspected
occurrences (Remley & Herlihy, 2010). Counselors may be hesitant in reporting such information if
they are struggling ethically with releasing confidential information but should keep in mind that the
ACA (2005) Code standard A.4.a., discusses the counselor behaving in such a way as to avoid harm
to their client. This may pose another ethical dilemma to the counselor who must now determine if
either reporting the suspected abuse or the possible deterioration of the trusting therapeutic
relationship due to the reporting, would cause more harm to the client. The counselor must be
vigilant in ensuring that personal values or feelings regarding the situation do no influence their
decisions
(ACA, A.4.b., 2005)
Addressing the Issue The counselor should utilize clinical skills to determine additional information
regarding the suspected abuse or neglect (Remley & Herlihy, 2010). This attempt at gathering
additional information is supported in the ACA Code of Ethics. The ACA (2005) Code section
B.1.b. explains that to be respectful of a client's privacy, gathering only information that is necessary
for the counseling process is acceptable. When reporting the counselor should disclose

Homeless Minors
In the past couple of years, the number of homeless individuals have been on the rise in Nevada. In
this mass increase, the population mostly consists of homeless individuals under the age of eighteen.
These minors are mostly unaccompanied, with no adults to teach them right or wrong. Being
homeless and on the streets, it gives the minors less chances in life and it also influences them to act
out negatively in society. The number of homeless teens have been skyrocketing and the problem is
that with the amount we have now it might be hard to control in the future. In Clark County, there
has been a vast increase in the number of homeless individuals. The number of homeless people has
increased from 7,443 to 7,509 in the past year. (Amaro). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The homeless minors have no one to look up to as a role model and have limited amounts of
resources. This can result in the minors doing deviant actions such as stealing. In the past month,
there has been many cases of young adults and minors breaking into neighborhood houses and
robbing families. Around a month ago, there was a situation that I witnessed where this young teen
was going around a neighborhood stealing items from various houses. During that time, I was also
notified that these types of situations have been occurring a lot recently. Aside from this incident, a
couple months back a teen went into my aunt's shop and attempted to steal some of her belongings.
This problem not only affects society, but mainly the minors who are committing these crimes.
Whether or not these homeless individuals do the right thing or the wrong they still get punished for
being homeless. "All they want to do is pass you along, so they can get on to their next problem. A
lot of the time if you are homeless they would arrest you for basically being homeless" (Elko Daily
Free Press). This can result in the teens having negative influences throughout their most
impressionable times in their life. Being exposed to such environments at a young age will affect
their ways as they grow older. The minors who are homeless usually do not have efficient amounts
of resources for them to use. Even though, there

A Reader Response to The Lie Essay
A Reader Response to The Lie
Pleasing people and the pressure that comes with it. This is a major factor in one's everyday life. Eli
Remenzel, however, has been caught in the middle of just one of the many lies he will ever tell. It
just happens to be that this lie was one that would make a lot of people disappointed. In the short
story "The Lie", the parents, and Eli's actions make me angry. However, I can definitely relate to
what Eli is going through.
To start with, I got extremely annoyed with the mother throughout the story. Actually, it wasn't just
the mother, it was both of the parents in general. Sylvia is way to bubbly and fake. And Dr.
Remenzel is extremely ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Next, I find myself upset that Eli was too much of a coward to confess in the first place. I am angry
that the parents found out from Dr. Warren, not Eli. Since he was the one to lie, he should be the one
to uncover the truth. He got the easy way out. "Eli's parents did not know this because Eli had found
the awful notice in the mail and had torn it up." I understand how he must feel, but when this is
revealed I could not believe that he did not tell his parents.
Finally, I can relate to Eli in this story. I know how it feels to have that much pressure put in you.
The entire conversation about how many Remenzels went to Whitehill School furiates me because it
just goes to show that Eli will become a shame. For instance, my older sister and brother both made
Senior Choir their freshman year. I was indirectly told several times that if I didn't make it my
freshmen year as well, then I would become a disgrace to them. Eli's circumstance is much like
mine. If he does not get into the school, he becomes a disgrace to the Remenzel family. And being
the youngest child (in my case) and the only child ( in Eli's case) makes it so that we pretty much
already have a path set out for us to take. "The best four years of your life are just about to begin".

Social Justice warriors come by the hundreds and thousands storming new channels, blogs, and any

where all this goes wrong I now claim that school systems mistreatment of young adults specifically
is rooted deeper within the foundation of most of this country than most people suspect. Simply,
there needs to be a change within our rights or lack thereof.
By lack thereof I mean none. Minor's have no rights and i understand that is sort of the point they

three reasons: (1) It is unconscionable to imprison children simply because their mothers are trying

are lawfully seeking asylum or other permission to stay, (3) Detention should be a last resort,

Ethical and Legal Challenges When Counseling Minors Working with minor clients can be

challenges when working with minor clients are confidentiality and reporting suspected child abuse

encounter challenges pertaining to confidentiality and abuse/ neglect, however I understand the need
to make an ethical decision and use the ACA Code Of Ethics to guide me through the journey.

The Namesake Minor Characters
People are often seen as the people they associate themselves with. Humanes begin to evolve as they
grow up and start overcoming baggage. Our loved ones can drift us apart from our roots and that can
be either positive or poor. In the novel The Namesake, Lahiri uses the minor characters Kim, Ruth
and Maxine throughout the novel to highlight Gogol's characterization and journey of growing up
and becoming less understanding and distancing himself from his own culture. This statement
relates to numerous of immigrants who distance themselves from their own culture to the one they
are living in at the moment.
Lahiri creates the minor character of Kim to help explain Gogol's adventure to a different culture
than his. There are abounding moments throughout the novel where Gogol tries to change his
identity because he thinks people will make fun of him because of his name. A major point in the
book is when he is at a college party and meets a girl named Kim. "But he doesn't want to tell Kim
his name. He doesn't want to endure her reaction, to watch her lovely blue eyes grow wide" (96). In
the following quote, Lahiri uses the internal conflict in Gogol, to have the reader Castellanos 2
sympathize and relate to the circumstance that people can go through when they are afraid what one
might think. Gogol believes that by changing his name, he will be accepted into the community
around him. He is mainly concerned about what girls think of him, rather than

Should Minors Be Allowed?
Today, there are several social networking sites, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr,
and Pinterest. With all these easily accessible via laptop or smartphone, many kids and teenagers
have created accounts that they frequently use. In fact, social media is how most people pass the
time now. With these sites also come many potential threats, posing the question, should minors be
allowed to create personal web pages? Although there are some positives to children and teenagers
having social media accounts, there is too much danger involved to allow minors to create personal
web pages. On these sites, kids may become targets of online predators. To make a profile, you need
no proof of identity. That's why even if sites have age restrictions, like Facebooks minimum age of
13 to join, kids still create accounts. Therefore, anyone can claim to be anyone, and most people
won't know the difference, especially minors. This issue is significant enough that a TV show,
Catfish, was created to tell the stories. In general, kids are naïve to dangerous pedophiles who can
easily acquire personal information from their accounts and posts. According to the Journal of
Adolescent Health, Volume 47, 2010, "In 82% of online sex crimes against minors, the offender
used the victim's social networking site to gain information about the victim's likes and dislikes,"
and,"65% of online sex offenders used the victim's social networking site to gain home and school

Minor Squabbles
Huber states that "creative problem solving is the most effective mode of conflict management"
(2014, p. 175). Initially, the nurse manager should allow all parties involved an opportunity to
explain their position. This projects an authentic interest and commitment to fairness on the part of
the manager, as the manager attempts to reframe the conflict into a productive outcome.
Not all conflict needs to be addressed. Small, minor squabbles can sometimes be left to extinguish
on their own, this is using the avoiding technique. However, minor squabbles that draw the attention
and added investment of others may fan the flames of conflict and require an intervention by the
nurse manager. Accommodation is another technique used in conflict management.

The Irresponsible Minors

  • 1. The Irresponsible Minors When minors browse the web they come across social media networks and become unaware of their actions. The irresponsible minors post inappropriate pictures, comments, and links that cause them to get reported and obtain a teen criminal record. The monitor asserts those teens have bad decision– making skills that shouldn't be accounted for as they transition into an adult. I agree with The Monitor's argument because of personal experience. Before Facebook there was a social media network called Myspace and it wasn't as restricted as Facebook but when I was in my teens I would post inappropriate comments on there just because I was immature and was free to type whatever I wanted. Well I got reported and my account got deactivated. I believe if ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Counseling Minors: The Legal Rights of Minors The following essay summarizes prescriptions for counselors in the following factors: counseling minors, legal rights of the minors, the rights of the parents, release of records, confidentiality, and reporting suspected abuse or neglect. The ACA and NBCC websites will be accessed for primary material and this will be substantiated by secondary sources. Counseling minors: the legal rights of the minors The minor, according to law, is considered so below the age of 18 since this is the age when he can legally and most rationally decide for himself. Many practitioners concede that mature decisions can be, generally, expected from minors who are age 14 and upwards. Consequently, many of the principals inherent in the counseling situation that involve a minor depend, to a great extent on the age of the minor in question. The older the minor, the more rights are granted since it is, naturally, considered that an older minor can make a more rational and mature decision. Another guideline that can stand for determining when a client is sufficiently competent is that defined by Hall and Lin (1995) who noted that a rational client is one who: (a) attends to the decision task at hand, (b) delays a decision response until the decision–making process is completed, (c) weigh treatment alternatives, (d) considers risks associated with different treatment alternatives, and (e) estimate costs and consequences of choosing or not choosing various treatment alternatives (p. 65). Minor Resentment Analysis A fourth exception to minor consent pertains to HIV diagnostic testing and treatment as well as sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing, treatment and prevention. Analysis was performed in a 2012 study which considered the state adolescent consent laws and implications for HIV and STI's prevention, diagnosis and treatment. The findings are concerning. The study states, "No states expressly prohibits minor's access to HIV or STI prevention methods or testing. All states expressly allow some minors to consent to medical care for the diagnosis or treatment, but only eight allow consent to preventive services. Thirty–four states expressly allow minors to consent to services. Seventeen states allow minors to consent to STI testing, but do not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. How My Major and Minor Will Help in My Endeavors Explaining the importance of my major and minor is very simple. My major will be general business; the reasoning behind this choice is I have always been fascinated by business. I loved my economics classes which fueled my interest for investing and looking at companies and gauging their worth and risk. In this regard i feel like having a general business degree will help me find a job in anything business as I will have a wide spread knowledge on the topic, while I do love business that is not my main goal. To understand that you have to look at my minor, this will be communications. I have always been a people person, I loved talking with everyone about anything and understanding their interests and expressing my own. In the past semester I took a speech class and found I really enjoyed it which got me thinking about what i wanted to do when I graduate. This is when it all comes together. My major is business which will give me the background into business that I need. My minor is communications which will give me the skills I need to go into either public relations or a salesman for a large company. I feel the importance of these degrees should be easily identifiable. Everyone needs someone to talk for and be the face for a large company. That is where I see myself in ten years, working for a company as a public relations representative. My degree in business will give me credibility and know how into the subject while my communications minor will give me the skill to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Rights For Minors Rights for Minors Minors do not have the same rights and privileges as adults do. They wish they could have those rights, but society thinks differently. First, when people are in public, they all have to follow by federal laws or they will get put into court, fined or locked up. Minors publicly don't have the same rights as adults. Most children by law have a curfew. Ages 13 and under during the school year have to be in by 8pm and 9pm in the summer, ages 14 and 15 during the school year have to be in at 9pm and 10pm in the summer and ages 16 and 17 during the school year have to be in by 10pm and 11pm during the summer. Minors think that curfew is absurd because when they get with their friends and they are hanging out and having fun, they tend to lose track of time and then their parents call them in at approximately 8:00 pm and their friends can stay out until around ... • 6. A Procative Approach To Improving Minor League Baseball... Under the protection of Major League Baseball's ("MLB") longtime antitrust exemption, Minor League Baseball ("MiLB") has continuously redefined and reshaped itself according to Baseball's overall needs. But while MLB salaries have increased dramatically since the MLB reserve clause was broken in 1975, the salaries of minor league players have not followed suit. On February 7, 2014, a group of minor league players led by former minor leaguer Aaron Senne filed a class action complaint against MLB and three MLB clubs alleging violations of minimum wage and hour laws. According to the complaint, most minor leaguer earn between $3,000 and $7,500 working between fifty and seventy hours per week during the five month season. The wage and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once a player is placed on a club's 40–man roster, he is entitled to the minimum salary prescribed in the Basic Agreement, which for 2014 is $500,000 for MLB service and $81,500 for MiLB service. Historically, while the average minor league salary has risen by just 75 percent since 1976, the average MLB salary has risen by approximately 2,000 percent thanks in part to union representation and open markets. Regardless of the legality of the claims raised in Senne, MLB has an ethical responsibility to change the current system to ensure that minor league players are not living in poverty by fairly compensating them for their hard work, both financially and with other intrinsic compensation. A proactive approach that balances the interests of players and the financial needs of clubs can solve these issues while retaining the development structure that clubs rely on. First and most simply, MLB should increase monthly salaries for minor league players. Having players paid below the poverty line is embarrassing for an organization that produces over $8 billion in revenue per year. To answer this concern, MLB clubs can take advantage of the colossal jumps in television revenue to increase salaries. MLB can also help, perhaps using some of the $750 million added per season by their new national media contracts. By multiplying the current figures by 2.5 (see Figure 2), a structure is created that gives all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Minors and Abortion: Parental Consent Must be Mandatory How can a child make the decision for the life of another child by themselves? In this paper I will outline the mental, physical, and safety issues of minors (age 18 and under) having an abortion and why it is so important that they need to get parental consent before making this life long decision. Talking about abortion brings out an emotional response in many women. This is because having an abortion takes a massive emotional toll on some women. As Nanyjo Mann said, three weeks after having an abortion, "I became preoccupied with the thoughts of death. I fantasized about how I would die. My baby struggled for two hours" (Reardon, 1987, p. xviii). In the forward of the book "Aborted Women, Silent No More" Nanyjo, a women telling ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I think most would feel terrible. Having a law that enforces girls, under 18 years, to inform their parents when she wants to get an abortion would make the process much easier and safer on the child and the family. It would also make parents feel like better protectors to know what's going on in their daughters life and help her make the correct decision. There are also the suicide rates of women who have had abortions to think about. As shown in a table from the book Woman's Health After Abortion, The Medical and Psychological Evidence (Ring–Cassidy and Gentles p. 197 Table 14–2) the U.S annual suicide rate per 100,000 women aged 15–44 who have not had an abortion is 5.2 and the number that have had an abortion is 7.8. The number who have had abortions is significantly higher, relating back to the emotional struggles of abortion . If your daughter was in so much pain and depression that she decided to commit suicide over the issue, how would you feel not even knowing about it? By talking to your child about it and being there for them along the way there would be less of a risk of unfortunate situations such as suicide, depression and post abortion complications. On the other hand, privacy and confidentiality are very important things that doctors and other health care workers take seriously. In many states you do not need parental consent for getting an abortion when you are under 18 (2009, Rutgers University). Where this is the case, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Should Minors Be Punished? In today 's society, the crime rate is increasing daily. Not only has it increased by adults committing crimes, it has also increased by minors committing violent crimes. The issue of this situation is punishing minors appropriately. Many believe that minors should never be tried as adults while others believe that minors should most definitely be left to be punished for their actions. I believe that minors should be punished as adults according to the crime reasons being, any criminal should have to suffer for the crime, learn from their mistakes, and keep every criminal off the streets. The Juvenile Justice System has become very outdated. Teens have become more advanced. Teens have also become more exposed to criminal activity. There are many kids of have seen many things that the eyes of a child should never have to see. Mary Onelia Estudillo says, "The juvenile justice system was originally created to provide individualized rehabilitation to offenders of minor crimes such as truancy, shoplifting, and vandalism. But youth today are taking advantage of this lenient and outdated system and are committing violent crimes because they believe they will get off easy." Most teens are starting to actually believe they're too young to be punished as adults. These beliefs are causing teens to try anything, no matter how bad of a crime. Teens have started to take advantage of the leniency of the justice system. No criminal should be left in the streets to only continue committing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Prostitution of Minors Prostitution of minors occurs all around the world. We do not notice because it may not concern us, and it is difficult to act when something does not affect us in any way. It affects you if you have children or nieces who are under age right now selling themselves to help out their families who are in need of money. What would you do right then to help them get out of that situation? That's what's going on in Europe right now when you visit, is the same thing that is happening in Mexico. There are many young girls selling themselves because they have to work to support their family. I had a personal experience with this issue when I took a trip down to Mexico with my cousins once. It was around 1:00 a.m, and we were heading back to the borderline to cross back into the U.S. On our way there I saw an empty building that was full of women and children standing outside. I told my cousin to stop, and I got out of the car to ask a girl who looked to be around 9 or 10 years old, what she was doing there I will never forget her words, " I came here to work to help out with money because right now I'm the only one who can". I told my cousin to help the girl with some money she could go home for the day, so that she did not have to do this at least for a day. Those words of hers have stuck with me to this day. Seeing these children out there that have to resort to these acts to support their family seems unfair because they are not the parents. The parents should be the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Victimization of Minor Characters in Laura Esquivel's... In a novel, minor characters are never the focus of the plot. Minor characters are present in a novel to affect the major characters and help the character development of the major characters. Minor characters influence the major characters in many ways. One of these ways of supporting the major characters, is the victimization of the minor characters. Two excellent examples of minor characters that impact the major characters of the novels due to the minor characters being victimized is Nacha in Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel and Monica in Silence by Shusaku Endo. From this small yet generous offer made by Monica, Father Rodrigues reflected on his mission to Japan. Since coming to this country, he reflected, he had caused nothing but hardship to these poor Christians, and he nibbled at the cucumber with his front teeth. He had received from them the little hut in which he had dwelt, they had given him the clothing he now wore, he had eaten their food. Now it was his turn to give them something. But what could he give? The only thing he had to offer was his life and his death (Endo 81). Monica was already malnourished, yet she selflessly offered her only food to Father Rodrigues, a man she had never encountered before. This was huge to Father Rodrigues and it made him question what he can do to help her in return. Monica?s impact and the victimization made Father Rodrigues question whether or not his coming to Japan really worth it or not. He realized that he had only created more hardships for the Christian peasants that he had encountered throughout Japan. However, at the same time, Father Rodrigues also realized that many of the Christians looked up to him and were thankful that Father Rodrigues would try to come and help them. • 11. Unaccompanied Minors Imagine leaving your home country all on your own at the age of nine and finally making your way to another country where you are not welcomed and could be sent back to your home country where it is not safe. Instances like this take place every day for children and they are all alone with nowhere to go. Real life examples like this are why unaccompanied minors need protection. The United States should protect unaccompanied minors from Central America due to a child's reason for leaving their home country, their vulnerability, and the U.S. has an obligation under set laws and programs. Firstly, a child's reason for leaving their country should be a factor on how much they are protected by the United States. To elaborate, a child who left home to get away from home because they did not like the rules they had to follow from their parents is a lot different than a child leaving home due to being a refugee. The child who left home due to not agreeing with the household rules should be sent back home safely while the child who is a refugee should stay in the U.S. and ensure safety and protection. Additionally, "while a child may have multiple reasons for leaving his or her country, children from the Northern Triangle consistently cite gang or cartel violence as a ... Abortion for minors is a major public health concern in the United States. There are more than 300,000 births to teens each year, increasing the risk of both the mother and the baby's health. Abortions on minors have raised political, clinical, social, and economic awareness. In order to make effective changes to abortion for the minor one must produce empirical evidence, to evaluate policy options for persons involved in public health policy and legislation. We would designate a section of the stadium for large groups to rent if they just want to sit down and watch the game. These sections in the stadium are located in the left and right field lines of the stadium oppose of each other. Space is plentiful as we estimate attendance to increase. In the process, Shakespeare generates major interest from the readers for these minor characters. One may ask, why do I feel so strongly for these characters? The answer cannot be any clearer; it is because they are presented in a major manner even though they are minor and in the short amount of time they are seen in the play, they make themselves stick to the readers. Our loved ones can drift us apart from our roots and that can be either positive or poor. With all these easily accessible via laptop or smartphone, many kids and teenagers have created accounts that they frequently use. In fact, social media is how most people pass the time now. With these sites also come many potential threats, posing the question, should minors be allowed to create personal web pages? On these sites, kids may become targets of online predators. To make a profile, you need no proof of identity. That's why even if sites have age restrictions, like Facebooks minimum age of 13 to join, kids still create accounts. Therefore, anyone can claim to be anyone, and most people won't know the difference, especially minors. This issue is significant enough that a TV show, Catfish, was created to tell the stories. Not all conflict needs to be addressed. Small, minor squabbles can sometimes be left to extinguish on their own, this is using the avoiding technique. However, minor squabbles that draw the attention and added investment of others may fan the flames of conflict and require an intervention by the nurse manager.
