• A verb is a main part of a sentence / speech that is used to describe
or indicate an action.

5. OBJECT OF A SENTENCE.
• The object of a sentence is the person or thing that receives the
action of the verb.
• To find the object , you need to ask “who” or “what” after the verb.

= The football team
The football team is the object of this sentence because it comes after
the verb and answers the question “who”.

• “They” is the subject: the one ‘who’ is performing the action and the one
the sentence is about.

• “drums” is the object: it is ‘what’ is being played and it is ‘what’ the
