A major issue is that the distribution of electoral votes is not equal per state. Small states are given at least 3 electoral votes to make sure they are
counted in the election. However, this means that in bigger states, each individual vote counts less overall than smaller states. For example each
vote in Wyoming counts close to four times as much as each individual vote in Texas (Lewis). Also, using the Electoral College system it is
possible for a candidate to win the election by receiving 21.8% of the popular vote (Lewis). For this to occur, there needs to be 2 candidates and

Reforming the United States Presidential Electoral Process The framers of the constitution designed the United States electoral process to give a voice
to the voiceless. They sought to ensure that the American people would play a direct role in the selection of their leaders rather than being forced to
endure the policies of a 'tyrannical' government that neglects the rights of its citizens, such as the English monarchy prior to the revolution. However,
