2. Aims of the brief :
The production met requirements of the brief, which was to make a film within the horror genre. We
researched codes and conventions of horror and then brainstormed original ideas which we made
in groups. Our group Reisha, Kai and Josh played in the film I wrote, which is on a story about two
girls who got friendly with the unknown killer.
As it implied it has to do with not talking to strangers, so we turned the film into a metaphor of social
media. Every person in the group had a chance to take part, and film a shoot the film `Extreme
Sports`.I shot scene 5 and 6. In theses scenes Josh, who played Nick, walks down the stairs to meet
his `new friends`. Josh walked slowly in both shots to show suspense and mystery as he is the
killer. In theses shots I used zooming in and out movement, to do this I used long shot and mid shot
Further though the film, it builds more suspicion as they don't know until the last shot when he kills
them, in shot 12.
3. Planning: Pre- Production:
As a group we planned the film and each of us individually had our
own roles at pre- production. I helped do the script and plan each
scene and thought though every person's line,Tasnuva made a
storyboard to explain and show the film in detail, with drawn
images and descriptions and Reisha made a document on shot
types to plan out the movement of the camera.
4. Planning: Post-Production:
After filming the film,`Extreme Sports`. As a group individually people took
turns to edited the film. We altered the sound and added sound effects to
make the film more realistic. Also during the process of the film also cut and
added music.
5. Planning: Production:
In the process of the production. Kai and Josh the film with sound
effects ,music and cuts. The film had many touch ups to polish the
film to the best standers. Therefor to get a good grade.
6. Planning: Organization:
To organize the the short film as a group we all participated to get it all ready.
This includes getting props that are needed in order to make the film more
realistic. This also includes the clothes the character needs to wear to get
them into character. We also organised where we were going to film and
produce the film.
7. Strengths: What Went Well ?
In the processes of the production it had its ups. Hence the fact that every
person suited their character roles, because it suited their personalities.
Another one is that, when filming everyone kept in character, many camera
shots were included. So to make the film successful.
Also as an individual I did well at creating the script and coming up with what
my group had to say and filming the right shots for each scene.
8. Weaknesses: Even Better If?
In the processes of the production it had its downs too. Therefor when filming
I needed a steady hand. To make that better I should of used the tripod more
often. Even better if... as a group we planned the film properly so we wouldn't
have to rethink new film ideas.
Though every person suited their characters. Voices needed to be projected a
bit more, because voices needed to be more clear when acting. The confiance
needed to be boosted up a level as some body language was lacking.
9. Evaluation
To sum up as a group its group it ended up that it all got sucssesfuly done and
worked as a group as it had its ups and downs on the way. As we changed it
due to the scenery. However after all the planning and organisation, we made
a presentable film for the horror genre. Ans met the breif.
