The admiration that Kahlo feels towards the "indigenous aesthetic in Mexico" reveals the political side of Kahlo's personality. From a young age,

renowned National Preparatory School in Mexico City in year of 1922. At the time there where only thirty–five female students enrolled in the school

Kahlo began to paint in while she was recuperating from the devastating accident she faced when she was merely eighteen years old that would
change her life forever. The accident occurred when a trolley crashed in to the small wooden bus she was riding in. The accident which nearly
killed her, left Kahlo partially invalid which including three broken places to her spinal column, a broken collarbone, two broken ribs, three

Frida was not only talented but she was also very intelligent. In 1922 she was one of only thirty–five female students to attend the most prestigious
preparatory school in Mexico, Escuela Nacional Preparatoria or The National Preparatory School. While Frida read in three different languages and

I am in the city of Coyoacan, Mexico to visit Frida Kahlo's The Two Fridas, which she painted in oil on canvas in 1939, depicting the era of
Surrealism. Some say that her painting The Two Fridas can be labeled as Surreal because of her sometimes bizarre and disturbing themes. Kahlo was
not interested in subjects that came from her dreams or the subconscious, yet her artwork was almost always autobiographical. This is why this
painting was Surreal. I am currently taking a trip to learn more since you know that one of my favorite artists is Frida Kahlo. Frida Kahlo has done many
self–portraits for her art work. Since she is a well–known Mexican painter and I have the same heritages it is important for me to know more. This is

was of indigenous and Spanish descent. Her father, Wilhelm Kahlo, was German. The combinations of the two heritages gave Frida a rich cultural
background, which was a key part of her artwork. Kahlo developed polio at the young age of 6, which left one of her legs thinner and weaker than
the other one. It is also speculated that she may have had spina bifida, which would also hinder the growth of her leg. Although she suffered from
these afflictions, her father encouraged her to be active and participate in sports, such as swimming, wrestling and boxing. It would be September
