2. 1 Year supply
• Any food is better than no food
• Just start with whatever you’ll eat
• Store what you eat and eat what you store
• Need to have your body use to what you store
• Health reasons for eating what you store
– Enzymes
– Gut
– Addictions
3. Fats
• Coconut Oil is my favorite
• Tallow is awesome
• Canned Fish (sardines and salmon)
• Olive oil is good but a short shelf life
Why:
• Needed for mineral and vitamin absorption
• Imperative for brain, skin, gut, and hormones
4. Sugars
• Raw Honey! Almost a complete spectrum of
nutrition!
• Others: maple syrup, molasses, and fruit
• Sugars are needed for energy and honey is
one of the best was to get a good boost
without damage to the body.
• Take into account diabetes and other health
concerns.
5. Protein
• Protein from canned meats, dairy, eggs,
beans, grains and seeds
• My preferred is canned fish (sardines, salmon
and tuna)
• My favorite grains and seeds are: quinoa,
millet, and chia
• Note: need to be use to eating beans and
grains because the body creates certain
enzymes slowly to break them down
6. Carbs
• Grains, Beans, fruits and veggies
• Carbs are essential and needed yet to can
create spikes in blood sugars when they are
refined (= crappy energy output)
• White flour and white rice are blood sugar
spiking carbs –use sparingly
7. Vitamins/Minerals
• Huge!
• Store herbs and supplements (whole food)
that give you a good spectrum of vitamins and
minerals
• Know for the long term how to get all your
nutrition (alfalfa, nettles, blue/green algae,
bee pollen and kelp)
• Salt and clay
• Note on probiotics and enzymes
8. Quality vs Quantity
• Having a clean colon and intestine insures that
you are absorbing all your nutrition
• Cleaned out body = need for less food
• Needed less food and being able to absorb all
your food to the fullest extent can make or
break you in certain situations
9. Eating what you store
• If your body isn’t use to it, you might kill
yourself trying to go to strait whole wheat
• Diarrhea is serious especially in times of high
stress
• What does the body do in high stress
situations
• Take into account food addictions and some
children just won’t eat food, they would
rather starve
10. Making Food Digestible
• Souring grains and beans
• Fermenting fruits and veggies
• Making yogurt out of powdered milk
• Making sprouts out of grains and beans (check
to make sure your food sprouts, many do not
because of chemicals or fumigation)
11. Other Considerations
• Ready made food that doesn’t take water for
prep (canned meats, soups and other foods)
• Freezed dried has more nutrition than other
preservation ways
• Fresh is best so sprouts would be imperative
• Have canning tools to help preserve harvests
• Cows, goats, pigs chickens, rabbits, and bees
12. Purpose of Food Storage
• Food storage according to Brianna:
– Its enough to get things going off the land
– Gardening
– Farm Animals
– Hunting
– Sustainable living day to day
– What skills or tools do you need to be able to live
off the land once your food storage runs out?
