What Does Bravery Mean To You Essay
If you were to ask yourself what is bravery to you, what would you say? Would you say, brave
people are the ones that are buff and talk a lot about other people or military people risking their
lives for ours. To me bravery is something you need to have a big heart and your not afraid of people
seeing who your are. Bravery, to me, is a beautiful and magnificent thing to have ,do,and talk about.
There so many people that have so much bravery in them it's unbelievable. Personally I have a
couple of people that I can name that have brave genes in them. Number 1 would be my dad because
he served in the military for 9 year years risking his life for mine ,and others out there so we can
have rights . To think he went through 9 years of pain, bruises, torture, and

Demario Davis Case Study
The Cleveland Browns finally dove into the free agent market by signing linebacker Demario Davis.
The two parties agreed to a two year, eight million dollar contract which benefits both sides.
Although Davis isn't a big name free agent, he brings a positive attitude and no off–field baggage.
The 27 year old was drafted by the New York Jets in the third round of the 2012 draft. Davis is a
solid player who has been described as durable and dependable. He played weakside linebacker in
the Jets 3–4 defense and produced 349 tackles in four seasons. As we all know where there are
positives, there are negatives too. When looking at the numbers, Davis isn't considered a big play
difference maker. He only registered 6.5 sacks, one interception and

Biography Of Knute Rockne
Knute Rockne, future football player and Notre Dame Coach, was born March 4, 1888 in Voss,
Norway. His parents immigrated to Chicago when he was five, where he graduated from high school
and worked. After earning some money, Rockne attended Notre Dame at age 22 to study pharmacy
and play football. Rockne and quarterback Gus Dorais led Notre Dame to a significant victory in a
1913 against the Army, during which Notre Dame used downfield forward passes from Dorais to
Rockne. While not the "invention" of the pass, it was the first major contest in which a team used it
so successfully. Rockne graduated in 1914 and worked at Notre Dame as a laboratory assistant,
where he also helped with the football team. In 1914, he played end and halfback with the Akron
Indians and joined the professional Massillon Tigers in Ohio with former teammate Dorais in 1915.
The pair led the Tigers to the championship in 1915 and brought the forward pass to professional
football through 1917.
Rockne became Head Coach for Notre Dame in the 1918 season. During his 13 years tenure,
Rockne led the "Fighting Irish" to 105 victories, 12 losses, five ties, and three national
championships, including five undefeated seasons. Rockne posted the highest all–time winning

Peyton Manning best quarterback ever?
Some would say that Peyton Manning is the greatest quarterback ever. Peyton by the end of his
career acquired most of every passing record. He also has a popular name used by many announcers
and players today "The Sheriff". Finally Peyton is still known as one of the most competitive sports
players ever. Because he has changed the quarterback position ,and accomplished so much during
his time playing football, Peyton Manning is the greatest quarterback of all time.
One reason Peyton Manning is the best quarterback of all time is he changed the way the
quarterback position was played to this day. USA Sports Today states that, "He was a football nerd,

The facts tell differently. Some would say that Brady's stats are better, according to NFL's overall
stats Peyton actually dominates in total completions, yards per attempt, touchdowns and finally his
passing rating. The second reason some would say that Brady is the better quarterback is that they
believe that he is better in the postseason. According to "Here's why Peyton is the better playoff
QB," Peyton's playoff rating is infact better. Peyton comes in with a 88.1, while Brady has a 88.0.
The third and final reason why some say Brady is better is because, Peyton is only good because of
the players he has on his teams. "Peyton ahead of Brady?" says differently the article states that "So
Manning overcame a career–threatening neck injury, switched to an entirely different team, with
entirely new receivers, and set single–season records for yardage and TDs. Eric Decker left in free

Justin James Watt: The Best Football Player
Justin James Watt is the best defensive player and the best all around player currently active in the
NFL. His defensive prowess is known throughout the league and quarterbacks and running backs
alike cringe every time they hear his name. He has set many records and received countless rewards
in just four seasons in the NFL. J.J.'s physical assets, impact on his team, and personal achievements
put him in his own class as the NFL's best football player. I had the honor of meeting J.J. Watt when
I was 15 years old. I was about 5'7 and 125 pounds and the difference in our size was astounding.
His sheer presence had me questioning if he was even human. When I shook hands with him his
hand fully engulfed mine, and I imagine for him it was like shaking hands with a newborn baby.
This beast of a human being weighs in at 290 pounds and is 6 ft 5 in tall. He resembles a refrigerator
that runs 4.84 second forty yard dash and can jump 37 inches in the air. That is scary to think about.
Watt is one of those ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
J.J. also won defensive player of the year in 2012 and 2014. He is the only player in NFL history to
record multiple 20+ sack seasons and he's only been in the league four short years. This is why he
deserved MVP in 2014 and if his success continues, he will eventually attain this milestone. J.J. is
also the only defensive player in NFL history that has ever ranked #1 on the 101 Best Players of the
Year List. This is a great feat considering how offensive minded the league is nowadays.
Consequently, the facts hold true. There is no doubt that J.J. Watt is the best all around player in the
NFL. He cannot be stopped by any team in the league, and even in his brief career, he has
accomplished things that no player has ever achieved. His physical attributes, effect on his team, and
personal achievements clearly rank him as the number one football player in the

The Patriots Case Study Answers
AFC East 1. New England Patriots: 11–5 The Patriots will win their 14th divisional title of the
Brady/Belichick era this season. Yes, they will be without one of the best quarterbacks in the league
for the first four games, but that will not derail them. They have the best head coach and are talented
enough to survive four games without America's golden–boy Tom Brady. Last season the team
managed to win 12 games despite an abundance of injuries on both sides of the football. By the end
of last season, the offensive line resembled an FCS school rather than an NFL team. An improved
offensive line, the return of Julian Edelman, and another year of experience for a young defense will
be enough for the Patriots to win yet another AFC East divisional title. ... Show more content on

Buffalo Bills: 7–9 The Bills are one of the most fascinating teams of the 2016 NFL season. The
range of possible outcomes for the Bills is something I haven't seen in a long time. On one hand I
could see the Bills being a disaster– Tyrod Taylor performing much more like a traditional sixth
round pick than a franchise quarterback, the breakdown of LeSean McCoy, another injury to Sammy
Watkins, and Rex Ryan being canned before the trade deadline. But, on the other hand I could see
the Bills clicking on all cylinders and challenging the Patriots for the divisional crown– Taylor
taking another step forward, McCoy displaying his explosiveness from 2013, Watkins performing
like the receiver that we've seen glimpses of, and a Ryan defense out performing the talent that
composes them. I don't think I have ever seen a team with as high of a celling and low as a floor that
the 2016–2017 Bills possess. Given the wide range of outcomes, it is only plausible to assume a few
of those aforementioned disaster/fortunate scenarios will occur, leading them to a near .500 record.

How Did Samuel Colt Impact Society
Colt's Impact on Society Through Samuel Colt's simple invention of the revolver, he gave
Americans the ability to defend themselves with accuracy, improved military power against the
world, and impacted gun laws in today's society. Many people believe the .45 Peacemaker was the
gun that started the expansion out west. Giving the average Joe an opportunity to defend and protect
their own freehold. Although it gave the ability for self defense, it also offered a militaristic
advantage, producing a more advanced weapon then the opponents were capable of creating. The
history encompassing Colt's invention is extensive, and the results are very much alive today.
Born on July 19, 1814, in Hartford, Connecticut, Colt was one out of eight children. He had
determination to become something. His mother died when he was very young, his sister
committing suicide soon after, gave Colt a tragic background. Colt studied navigation in high
school, but was later expelled for not paying attention. Then after he became a seaman on the Corvo,
where he watched the ships wheel. Which lead to him thinking of a gun with revolving chambers.

Many believe strictly in the second amendment as author Wayne Drash says in his article for CNN,
"Just last year, Colt made 100,000 AR–15s, dubbed sporting rifles by the industry and assault rifles
by critics. The privately held company expects bustling sales again this year as gun owners and
collectors snatch them up ahead of any potential bans."(par 25). As the second amendment states it
is the right of the people to bare arms, however many protests are made against this amendment.
Political parties often are resolute in gun control laws, the libertarian party is outspokenly against
gun control. Angering large groups of people because when a person owns a gun some might feel
threatened, also believing that life is fragile and gun violence can bring harm to

Johnny Manziel Research Paper
The Cleveland Browns season has begun with one preseason game already in the books. Although
the Browns lost to the Washington Redskins 20–17, we learned quite a few things from Thursday
nights game. First off, Josh McCown was respectfully impressive even though he only played one
possession. He looked composed in the pocket, knowing where and when to throw the ball. The
veteran quarterback showed off his mobility, avoiding pressure to find Travis Benjamin in the end
zone for a touchdown. McCown completed a perfect five for five passes for 33 yards giving the
Browns a 7–0 lead. Next up to make his preseason debut, Johnny Manziel, who showed vas
improvement. The former first round pick completed seven of his 11 pass attempts for 42 yards. The
quarterback remained in the game for five possessions with minor mistakes. With just under a
minute left before halftime, Manziel stared down one of his receivers and the pass was batted down,
but he is lucky isn't didn't result in a pick six. Additionally, Johnny fumbled a snap in addition to
taking just one sack. On a positive note, Manziel looks to be gaining comfort in the pocket. He was
responsible for three first downs and a 12 yard touchdown scramble. He was Cleveland's leading
rusher with 14 yards on just two carries. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

It was just normal night of me and a group of friends at dinner. We just ordered our food so the
whole table was discussion involving events that occurred during the week. The conversation lead to
sports and Austin made a controversial statement by saying that Tom Brady was an overrated
quarterback and he wouldn't be close to the player he is without his teams' system. That comment
triggered Christopher who is a die–heart Tom Brady fan. Christopher then went on a rant how Tom
Brady was the greatest quarterback of all–time. He defended Brady by saying: "Without Brady there
is absolutely no way that the Patriots would have won four Super Bowl's. Before Brady was the
quarterback for the Patriots they had never won a Super Bowl." Austin then responded explaining

uttered: "The difference between a good quarterback and a great quarterback is how well they do in
the playoffs and Tom Brady in the playoffs is astronomically better than Peyton Manning." Austin
made his final opposition articulating that many football fans overvalue a player career based on
how many Super Bowls they won. Instead he pronounced that people should put more stock into
individual statistics rather than team statistics such as Super Bowl wins. After the debate was
concluded other people pitched in their reflection on who they regarded as the winner of the

National Anthem Protests
National Anthem Protests The United States of America is a multicultural nation in which all
individuals are proclaimed free and equal. While this is true for many, African–Americans are
oppressed and deemed inferior by society because of the racism and injustice that persists in
America. This is seen through police brutality against black people compared to other races. In 2017
alone, the police have killed 1,079 people and black people were 26% (279) of those killed despite
being only 13% of the total population in America (Mapping Police Violence). The increasing
violence and inequality against African–Americans led to numerous protests and calls for change. In
the National Football League (NFL) former San Francisco 49er quarterback Colin Kaepernick, knelt
during the National Anthem in order to raise awareness on the issues concerning African–
Americans. His actions spread worldwide and athletes from different countries and sports leagues
began to protest the Star Spangled Banner. National Anthem protests in professional sports have
sparked social activism in America concerning police brutality and racial injustice. Protesting the
National Anthem dates back to early World War I when people protested against conscription, and
contrastingly protest in support for Socialism and Communism. In the world of sports protesting the
National Anthem became prevalent after Tommie Smith and John Carlos " made what would
become one of the most famous political protests in the

Unstoppable Force Research Paper
The Immovable Object vs An Unstoppable Force I know this may sound beyond cliché' – and trust
me I'm not trying to get scientific on you guys – but this game just happens to represent the ageless
question that has plagued mankind for centuries. Just what happens when an unstoppable force
collides with an immovable object? The Denver Broncos shut down defense is of course that
immovable object, and Cam and the gang represents that unstoppable force. So the questions
remains, who is left standing? That answer is just as complicated as it has always been in a way, and
most will insist that there is no definite answer. You must know that this is Vegas' favorite scenario
because they want even action on both sides. So are we talking about the dreaded push here?
Anything is possible, but I doubt it in this case. Let's not forget that in the not too distant past when

What Is The Rooney Rule? The Rooney Rule Was Established
What is the Rooney Rule? The Rooney Rule was established to encourage diversity in coaching or

Of the eight teams in the last four Super Bowls, six of them had a black head coach or general
manager. The Panthers, Jets, and Steelers are the only teams with coaching staffs composed of at
least 50 percent minorities. Two– third of NFL team members are majority black, with only one–
third minority coaches who can relate to these players. One prominent minority coach stated that he
had been called every day to implement a better college program at another school because the head

evolving and growing to become better. NFL officials still are experiencing token interviews to full
the mandate, when teams know all along they plan to hire someone else. The league can ensure that
the teams follow the Rooney Rule by requiring teams to provide transcripts of interviews with

their recent performances, the home field advantage, and the consistency as a team, the Panthers

Samuel Colton Invented The First Rotating Barrel Revolver
Samuel Colton invented the first rotating barrel revolver, later called Peacemaker, in 1835. He then
started mass–producing it and supplying it to the armed forces as well as the common people, who
benefited greatly from its reliability, portability and quick firing rate. This gun was the one used by
the legendary cowboys and was the one with which they gained enormous amounts of glory. Ever
since then, the Peacemaker has shaped American history in numerous ways and came to embody all
the values like individualism, freedom and power that America stood for. The Colt revolvers, later
called the Peacemakers, that were invented in the 19th century shaped American history not only by
giving the U.S. armed forces and the Union army the upper hand and the power to subdue their
enemies in monumental battles, but also by instilling in the people a strong sense of individualism
and the mentality of the manifest destiny. To begin with, before the 1830s, the only guns that were
available to the public and the military were the muskets and rifles, and primitive pistols. The
muskets and rifles were very large in size, took a long amount of time to reload and were difficult to
aim. Even though they might have been effective when used in large numbers at the frontline of the
battlefields due to the heavy concentration of bullets they produced and since great accuracy was not
required, they were not as practical or useful to the general public as their slow reload time and

Factors In Charles Duhigg's The Power Of Habits
Habits are choices that people continue to make repeatedly without consciously thinking about
them. They start as decisions, but eventually become an autonomic process. Habits are very useful
tools if known how to construct properly, however, they can also be destructive. It is crucial to
understand how they work and the components behind them in order to overcome the destructive
habits. A common misconception about habits is that in order for one to change their habit,
willpower is the most important component. Many people try to change their habits and often fail.
The main reason they fail is because they believe that changing habits relies only on willpower – the
control exerted to do something or restrain impulses – without understanding the nature of how
habits work. In Charles Duhigg's The Power of Habit, he explains how habits work and what
components must be understood in order to overcome bad habits effectively. Although willpower
relates to habit change, the most important and effective components of changing habits include the
habit loop, craving, and routine. Charles Duhigg counters the misconception of willpower by
explaining that habits can be changed with the knowledge of how the habit loop works. Duhigg
states that by understanding what habits are and how they exist in daily life, it will be easier to focus
on certain places where habits can be changed most effectively. According to The Power of Habit, a
habit has three steps. First there is a cue, which is a

The Legend of Samuel Colt
Who was Samuel Colt? He was a legendary inventor from Hartford, Connecticut that helped
revolutionize the way the world produced firearms. Colt was born to a family of farmers, his father
Christopher Colt was a farmer, however he later stopped farming and became a business man.
Meanwhile Colt's mother Sarah Colt passed when he was just six years old. His father remarried two
years later and overall there would be six siblings in the Colt family. Despite being part of a big
family Samuel Colt was destined to become successful and stand out above his other siblings. Colt

Because of Colt's inventions and his company's contributions to the Nation the Union Army
managed to have advanced revolvers during the war. Overall "Its output for the entire Civil War
period totaled 378,000 revolvers and 114,000 muskets" (Grant, 1982). The role that his company
played in producing firearms for the Union Army placed Colt as a historic figure in American
history. Today Samuel Colt is looked at as the man who revolutionized the firearm industry and the
man who created the first mass producing firearms company in the world. He was recently honored
in 2006 as he was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
With manufacturing moving overseas in the past several decades and America currently having a
trade deficit it would be difficult for Hartford to redevelop itself as one of the most important
manufacturing cities in America. On the contrary, Hartford can use its past to place itself as one of
the most important manufacturing cities in America. For instance, it can argue the fact that Colt
came up with the idea of mass production and started running his business out of Hartford, that it
was the city of Hartford who was the first to place itself as an industrial city in America. As the
United States also faces challenges in regaining some of its success in the past back in
manufacturing, it must end the habit of companies shipping all of the manufacturing jobs overseas

Samuel Colt and the Colt Revolver Essay
The Wild West is known for its cowboys and gunslingers. In the Wild West the pistol was an
important piece of equipment. Samuel Colt played an important part in the Wild West because of the
invention of the Colt Revolver. Samuel Colt was born on July 19, 1814 in Hartford, Connecticut. He
was one of eight children. As a young boy Samuel Colt's principle interest was guns and machinery.
His father, Christopher Colt, was a textile manufacturer and was married to Sarah Coldwell Colt

So the raft drifted away from the mine so when Colt set off the mine it blew mud and water all over
the viewers. This did not make the men happy. Three of the men came over and Colt was about to be
thrown into the river when a young man by the name of Elisha K. Root came and stopped them.
This man would later help Colt by designing most of the different machines that would make
revolvers (Peterson 209). "In 1836 Samuel Colt was granted a U.S. patent for a cap–and–ball pistol
with a revolving cylinder that could fire five or six shots before reloading" (Silva). After finally
getting the patent, Colt bought a large tract of land about two hundred acres in Hartford Connecticut
where he built a giant new factory where he started producing many revolvers. Colt made three
different models of his revolvers and he also made carbines, rifles, and shotguns. Colt's revolvers
became big. The Connecticut River was next to Colt's land and would flood that land every spring.
So Colt hired hundreds of laborers to work on building a dyke to keep it from flooding. The dyke
was one of the biggest in America at a mile and three quarters long. Colt's dyke was completed in
1854 (Haven). The United States was the first nation to give its troops a revolver. Colt's revolvers
were used in the Mexican war. After the massacre at the Alamo, the Texas Rangers, with Colt
revolvers in hands charged the Mexicans "shouting remember the Alamo".(Silva

Samuel Colt's Revolving Chamber Samuel Colt's development of the revolving pistol had a rough
start. However, after the Colt Walker got its chance during the Mexican–American War it proved to
be a handy side arm in giving America the upper hand. The Mexican army had outdated weaponry
and could not upgrade as they would have to wait for the shipment to be imported from overseas.
The new concept of a revolving multishot firearm has influenced our military and police force.
Since 1847 when Colt got its start, it has been with the american people up to today. In 1895,

The Mexican–American war was where the Colt revolver really showed what it's got. The Texas
rangers ordered 1,000 Colt Walkers to use in the war. Since the revolving chamber was a new
addition to the handgun category it really came in handy with close quarter combat. The mexican
army still had outdated weaponry. The Mexican army would have to wait for guns to be imported
overseas so that was no option. With their armory out of date and the Americans equipped with
revolving chamber America obviously had the upper hand. The colt has helped us win wars, it has
shaped our police force, has it done anything else for us? Yes, it has been quoted as "The gun with

have been shown in movies to be pretty cool, but what if the ranger missed the bandit? Without the
Colt revolver he would have to put the gunpowder into the chamber and loaded in the bullet. A lot
less interesting, however the revolver could fire and kill someone in no time. The colt peacemaker
helped the rangers defend their towns from outlaws. One of the most famous shootouts in the history

Ben Roethlisberger 35: A Career In Early American Football
The career of Ben Roethlisberger 35, has been a journey to say the least. He entered the league out
of Miami, OH as the eleventh pick in the 2004 NFL draft. He was not lauded like the two
quarterbacks drafted before him. Eli Manning 36, who was drafted with the first overall pick by the
San Diego Chargers, but traded to the New York Giants. The Giants who have won two super bowls
with Manning one in 2008 and the other in 2012 won't complain at all for the small amount they had
to trade to acquire Manning. They traded Phillip Rivers 35, who was drafted with the fourth overall
pick that same year, a third–round pick in 2004 which turned into Nate Kaeding, a 2005 first
rounded pick which turned into Shawne Merriman, and a 2005 fifth round pick ... Show more

Merriman in his career ended up going to three pro bowls. The knock–on Merriman is he had a
steroid suspension for the first four games of his second season and only played for five years for
the chargers having been released in 2010 due to injuries and lack of production, eventually retiring
after playing for two more years with the Bills. Thus, leaving Phillip Rivers who still plays great to
this day even in his old age as really the only great asset who the Chargers got for Manning. This
will be known though as a trade the Giants won as they have won two super bowls to the Chargers

Which brings us to Big Ben Roethlisberger who has been in the public spotlight throughout his
career for good and bad. Let's start with the good. In his rookie year, Big Ben ended up playing

Calvin Johnson has been the best wide receivers in the NFL in his whole career being 6'5" 240 he is
the toughest receiver to cover and his stats prove it. As seen in the picture from CBS sports. In 2012

Many people have there opinions on why he is retiring although he has not completely said why he

decision because he's looking ahead in life because life isn't just about football" this is a good point
because Johnson has been hurt every season he's played with just minor injuries keeping him out 2
or 3 games a season. To sum up Calvin Johnson is one of the greatest football players to ever play in
the NFL along with Jerry Rice. Many people have their own feelings on Calvin's retirement from his

Continuity Breeds Success
In the current "win now NFL", head coach's seats are luke warm before the first whistle in training
camp with their new team. Since the hot trend is to find an extremely young inexperienced guy to
fill the main position on an NFL coaching staff, long tenured coaches are few and far between. The
Cowboys, mostly Jerry Jones, seem to have noticed that frightening trend and the disarray it creates.
Because of free agency, more often than not the incumbent coach is saddled with their predecessor's
players that are still under contract. Those players may or may not fit the new coach's system, and
trying to get those players to buy into a new system is probably the most difficult task of said
coach's inaugural year. After Jason Garrett took the reigns from Wade Phillips in 2010, he attempted
to inject his philosophies into his new team. His favorite term used ad nauseum during his first press

Samuel Colt Samuel Colt was a very important person, not just in American history, but world
history also. Colt did much more than just make guns, he invented many things and pioneered many
of the practices and techniques modern businesses all over the world still use, but he is still
remembered today for his most famous invention, the revolver.
Samuel Colt was born on July 19, 1814 in Hartford, Connecticut to a businessman named
Christopher Colt and a woman named Sarah Caldwell, whose father was a major in the
Revolutionary War . When Colt was six his mother died of tuberculosis, and by age eleven he was

After this holdup, Colt began manufacturing cartridges made out of tin foil rather than common
paper which was used at the time. The tin foil cartridges proved to be more reliable than the paper
cartridges because the foil prevented the powder inside from getting wet while water soaked right
through the paper. Soon Colt had a large contract with the United States government, providing
hundreds of thousands of his new tin–foil cartridges. With the money he receive from his cartridges,
Colt reinvested his money into the telegraph industry he made the waterproof cable for, and
attempted to bring back the Patent Arms Manufacturing Company, but this failed. On January 4,
1847 Colt met with Texas Ranger Captain Samuel Walker. Walker had previously used Colt's
revolvers in the Seminole War in Florida, however he wanted Colt to make a few changes to it.
Walker wanted the handgun to be in a larger caliber, hold six rounds instead of five, and be quicker

and the two got to work and developed the Colt Walker, named after Captain Walker of the Texas

  • 3. Demario Davis Case Study The Cleveland Browns finally dove into the free agent market by signing linebacker Demario Davis. The two parties agreed to a two year, eight million dollar contract which benefits both sides. Although Davis isn't a big name free agent, he brings a positive attitude and no off–field baggage. The 27 year old was drafted by the New York Jets in the third round of the 2012 draft. Davis is a solid player who has been described as durable and dependable. He played weakside linebacker in the Jets 3–4 defense and produced 349 tackles in four seasons. As we all know where there are positives, there are negatives too. When looking at the numbers, Davis isn't considered a big play difference maker. He only registered 6.5 sacks, one interception and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Biography Of Knute Rockne Knute Rockne, future football player and Notre Dame Coach, was born March 4, 1888 in Voss, Norway. His parents immigrated to Chicago when he was five, where he graduated from high school and worked. After earning some money, Rockne attended Notre Dame at age 22 to study pharmacy and play football. Rockne and quarterback Gus Dorais led Notre Dame to a significant victory in a 1913 against the Army, during which Notre Dame used downfield forward passes from Dorais to Rockne. While not the "invention" of the pass, it was the first major contest in which a team used it so successfully. Rockne graduated in 1914 and worked at Notre Dame as a laboratory assistant, where he also helped with the football team. In 1914, he played end and halfback with the Akron Indians and joined the professional Massillon Tigers in Ohio with former teammate Dorais in 1915. The pair led the Tigers to the championship in 1915 and brought the forward pass to professional football through 1917. Rockne became Head Coach for Notre Dame in the 1918 season. During his 13 years tenure, Rockne led the "Fighting Irish" to 105 victories, 12 losses, five ties, and three national championships, including five undefeated seasons. Some would say that Peyton Manning is the greatest quarterback ever. Peyton by the end of his career acquired most of every passing record. He also has a popular name used by many announcers and players today "The Sheriff". Finally Peyton is still known as one of the most competitive sports players ever. Because he has changed the quarterback position ,and accomplished so much during his time playing football, Peyton Manning is the greatest quarterback of all time. One reason Peyton Manning is the best quarterback of all time is he changed the way the quarterback position was played to this day. USA Sports Today states that, "He was a football nerd, and he was anything but cool at the line of scrimmage. He ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The facts tell differently. Some would say that Brady's stats are better, according to NFL's overall stats Peyton actually dominates in total completions, yards per attempt, touchdowns and finally his passing rating. The second reason some would say that Brady is the better quarterback is that they believe that he is better in the postseason. According to "Here's why Peyton is the better playoff QB," Peyton's playoff rating is infact better. Peyton comes in with a 88.1, while Brady has a 88.0. The third and final reason why some say Brady is better is because, Peyton is only good because of the players he has on his teams. "Peyton ahead of Brady?" says differently the article states that "So Manning overcame a career–threatening neck injury, switched to an entirely different team, with entirely new receivers, and set single–season records for yardage and TDs. • 9. Justin James Watt: The Best Football Player Justin James Watt is the best defensive player and the best all around player currently active in the NFL. His defensive prowess is known throughout the league and quarterbacks and running backs alike cringe every time they hear his name. He has set many records and received countless rewards in just four seasons in the NFL. J.J.'s physical assets, impact on his team, and personal achievements put him in his own class as the NFL's best football player. I had the honor of meeting J.J. Watt when I was 15 years old. I was about 5'7 and 125 pounds and the difference in our size was astounding. His sheer presence had me questioning if he was even human. When I shook hands with him his hand fully engulfed mine, and I imagine for him it was like shaking hands with a newborn baby. This beast of a human being weighs in at 290 pounds and is 6 ft 5 in tall. He resembles a refrigerator that runs 4.84 second forty yard dash and can jump 37 inches in the air. That is scary to think about. Watt is one of those ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... J.J. also won defensive player of the year in 2012 and 2014. He is the only player in NFL history to record multiple 20+ sack seasons and he's only been in the league four short years. This is why he deserved MVP in 2014 and if his success continues, he will eventually attain this milestone. J.J. is also the only defensive player in NFL history that has ever ranked #1 on the 101 Best Players of the Year List. This is a great feat considering how offensive minded the league is nowadays. Consequently, the facts hold true. There is no doubt that J.J. Watt is the best all around player in the NFL. He cannot be stopped by any team in the league, and even in his brief career, he has accomplished things that no player has ever achieved. • 11. The Patriots Case Study Answers AFC East 1. New England Patriots: 11–5 The Patriots will win their 14th divisional title of the Brady/Belichick era this season. Yes, they will be without one of the best quarterbacks in the league for the first four games, but that will not derail them. They have the best head coach and are talented enough to survive four games without America's golden–boy Tom Brady. Last season the team managed to win 12 games despite an abundance of injuries on both sides of the football. By the end of last season, the offensive line resembled an FCS school rather than an NFL team. An improved offensive line, the return of Julian Edelman, and another year of experience for a young defense will be enough for the Patriots to win yet another AFC East divisional title. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Buffalo Bills: 7–9 The Bills are one of the most fascinating teams of the 2016 NFL season. The range of possible outcomes for the Bills is something I haven't seen in a long time. On one hand I could see the Bills being a disaster– Tyrod Taylor performing much more like a traditional sixth round pick than a franchise quarterback, the breakdown of LeSean McCoy, another injury to Sammy Watkins, and Rex Ryan being canned before the trade deadline. But, on the other hand I could see the Bills clicking on all cylinders and challenging the Patriots for the divisional crown– Taylor taking another step forward, McCoy displaying his explosiveness from 2013, Watkins performing like the receiver that we've seen glimpses of, and a Ryan defense out performing the talent that composes them. I don't think I have ever seen a team with as high of a celling and low as a floor that the 2016–2017 Bills possess. Given the wide range of outcomes, it is only plausible to assume a few of those aforementioned disaster/fortunate scenarios will occur, leading them to a near .500 record. 3. New York Jets: ... • 13. How Did Samuel Colt Impact Society Colt's Impact on Society Through Samuel Colt's simple invention of the revolver, he gave Americans the ability to defend themselves with accuracy, improved military power against the world, and impacted gun laws in today's society. Many people believe the .45 Peacemaker was the gun that started the expansion out west. Giving the average Joe an opportunity to defend and protect their own freehold. Although it gave the ability for self defense, it also offered a militaristic advantage, producing a more advanced weapon then the opponents were capable of creating. The history encompassing Colt's invention is extensive, and the results are very much alive today. Born on July 19, 1814, in Hartford, Connecticut, Colt was one out of eight children. He had determination to become something. His mother died when he was very young, his sister committing suicide soon after, gave Colt a tragic background. Colt studied navigation in high school, but was later expelled for not paying attention. Then after he became a seaman on the Corvo, where he watched the ships wheel. Which lead to him thinking of a gun with revolving chambers. Samuel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the second amendment states it is the right of the people to bare arms, however many protests are made against this amendment. • 17. Johnny Manziel Research Paper The Cleveland Browns season has begun with one preseason game already in the books. Although the Browns lost to the Washington Redskins 20–17, we learned quite a few things from Thursday nights game. First off, Josh McCown was respectfully impressive even though he only played one possession. He looked composed in the pocket, knowing where and when to throw the ball. The veteran quarterback showed off his mobility, avoiding pressure to find Travis Benjamin in the end zone for a touchdown. McCown completed a perfect five for five passes for 33 yards giving the Browns a 7–0 lead. Next up to make his preseason debut, Johnny Manziel, who showed vas improvement. The former first round pick completed seven of his 11 pass attempts for 42 yards. The quarterback remained in the game for five possessions with minor mistakes. With just under a minute left before halftime, Manziel stared down one of his receivers and the pass was batted down, but he is lucky isn't didn't result in a pick six. Additionally, Johnny fumbled a snap in addition to taking just one sack. On a positive note, Manziel looks to be gaining comfort in the pocket. We just ordered our food so the whole table was discussion involving events that occurred during the week. The conversation lead to sports and Austin made a controversial statement by saying that Tom Brady was an overrated quarterback and he wouldn't be close to the player he is without his teams' system. That comment triggered Christopher who is a die–heart Tom Brady fan. Christopher then went on a rant how Tom Brady was the greatest quarterback of all–time. • 21. National Anthem Protests National Anthem Protests The United States of America is a multicultural nation in which all individuals are proclaimed free and equal. While this is true for many, African–Americans are oppressed and deemed inferior by society because of the racism and injustice that persists in America. This is seen through police brutality against black people compared to other races. In 2017 alone, the police have killed 1,079 people and black people were 26% (279) of those killed despite being only 13% of the total population in America (Mapping Police Violence). The increasing violence and inequality against African–Americans led to numerous protests and calls for change. In the National Football League (NFL) former San Francisco 49er quarterback Colin Kaepernick, knelt during the National Anthem in order to raise awareness on the issues concerning African– Americans. His actions spread worldwide and athletes from different countries and sports leagues began to protest the Star Spangled Banner. National Anthem protests in professional sports have sparked social activism in America concerning police brutality and racial injustice. Protesting the National Anthem dates back to early World War I when people protested against conscription, and contrastingly protest in support for Socialism and Communism. Unstoppable Force Research Paper The Immovable Object vs An Unstoppable Force I know this may sound beyond cliché' – and trust me I'm not trying to get scientific on you guys – but this game just happens to represent the ageless question that has plagued mankind for centuries. Just what happens when an unstoppable force collides with an immovable object? The Denver Broncos shut down defense is of course that immovable object, and Cam and the gang represents that unstoppable force. So the questions remains, who is left standing? That answer is just as complicated as it has always been in a way, and most will insist that there is no definite answer. You must know that this is Vegas' favorite scenario because they want even action on both sides. So are we talking about the dreaded push here? Anything is possible, but I doubt it in this case. The Rooney Rule was established to encourage diversity in coaching or any top management position in the National Football League. It required teams to interview a minority candidate before making a head coach or head management hire. Do NFL officials still need the Rooney Rule? Yes, the Rooney Rule has helped force owners to cast a wide net, going from who you know system to who's the best system. What should be done about the lack of minority coaches and general managers? The Cardinals and Panthers have been one and two respectively in my power rankings since week 11. Sunday's matchup will not disappoint– we are in store for a tremendous football game. Both of these teams have prolific offenses– the Cardinals finished first in total yards– the Panthers finished first in total points. The Panthers' have the NFL MVP in Cam Newton– the Cardinals have Carson Palmer, who seems like the only thing he does is win football games. With their recent performances, the home field advantage, and the consistency as a team, the Panthers seem to be the safer pick, but I believe the Cardinals– the better team in my opinion, will prevail. I believe we will see the Cardinals team we saw in the final seven minutes of their playoff game. He then started mass–producing it and supplying it to the armed forces as well as the common people, who benefited greatly from its reliability, portability and quick firing rate. This gun was the one used by the legendary cowboys and was the one with which they gained enormous amounts of glory. Ever since then, the Peacemaker has shaped American history in numerous ways and came to embody all the values like individualism, freedom and power that America stood for. The Colt revolvers, later called the Peacemakers, that were invented in the 19th century shaped American history not only by giving the U.S. armed forces and the Union army the upper hand and the power to subdue their enemies in monumental battles, but also by instilling in the people a strong sense of individualism and the mentality of the manifest destiny. To begin with, before the 1830s, the only guns that were available to the public and the military were the muskets and rifles, and primitive pistols. The muskets and rifles were very large in size, took a long amount of time to reload and were difficult to aim. Even though they might have been effective when used in large numbers at the frontline of the battlefields due to the heavy concentration of bullets they produced and since great accuracy was not required, they were not as practical or useful to the general public as their slow reload time and difficulty to ... • 41. Factors In Charles Duhigg's The Power Of Habits Habits are choices that people continue to make repeatedly without consciously thinking about them. They start as decisions, but eventually become an autonomic process. Habits are very useful tools if known how to construct properly, however, they can also be destructive. It is crucial to understand how they work and the components behind them in order to overcome the destructive habits. A common misconception about habits is that in order for one to change their habit, willpower is the most important component. Many people try to change their habits and often fail. The main reason they fail is because they believe that changing habits relies only on willpower – the control exerted to do something or restrain impulses – without understanding the nature of how habits work. In Charles Duhigg's The Power of Habit, he explains how habits work and what components must be understood in order to overcome bad habits effectively. Although willpower relates to habit change, the most important and effective components of changing habits include the habit loop, craving, and routine. Charles Duhigg counters the misconception of willpower by explaining that habits can be changed with the knowledge of how the habit loop works. Duhigg states that by understanding what habits are and how they exist in daily life, it will be easier to focus on certain places where habits can be changed most effectively. This man would later help Colt by designing most of the different machines that would make revolvers (Peterson 209). "In 1836 Samuel Colt was granted a U.S. patent for a cap–and–ball pistol with a revolving cylinder that could fire five or six shots before reloading" (Silva). After finally getting the patent, Colt bought a large tract of land about two hundred acres in Hartford Connecticut where he built a giant new factory where he started producing many revolvers. Colt made three different models of his revolvers and he also made carbines, rifles, and shotguns. Colt's revolvers became big. The Connecticut River was next to Colt's land and would flood that land every spring. So Colt hired hundreds of laborers to work on building a dyke to keep it from flooding. The dyke was one of the biggest in America at a mile and three quarters long. Colt's dyke was completed in 1854 (Haven). The United States was the first nation to give its troops a revolver. Many experts say that he is retiring just because of how much he got hit during his career, being the only good wide receiver in detroit for half of his career. Many of his teammates have spoken on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In my opinion I feel that Calvin could still play maybe one more year. Just because he doesn't have an team wins like a super bowl although that probably won't happen with the Lions i feel that he should give him one last effort. When I interviewed my father and he said " I respect Calvins decision because he's looking ahead in life because life isn't just about football" this is a good point because Johnson has been hurt every season he's played with just minor injuries keeping him out 2 or 3 games a season. To sum up Calvin Johnson is one of the greatest football players to ever play in the NFL along with Jerry Rice. Many people have their own feelings on Calvin's retirement from his teammates to random people in the world like my dad and I. In conclusion hopefully Johnson will come back for a couple more years or even one but if he doesn't he will still be one of the greatest of all time to play ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 59. The Importance Of The Patriots The reigning Patriots, maintaining the title undefeated for ten games in a row, were striped of the honor by the Broncos on Sunday, November 29. The final ended with the Broncos breaking the tie in overtime with a touchdown, winning by a score 30–24. On average, the Patriots have defeated these opponents by 14 points. This one loss, however, strikes to be more significant to the players and fans than the winnings themselves. At first, the Patriots started strong in the first quarter as Wide Receiver Ron Gronkowski made a 23–yard touchdown. However, this action led the Broncos to strengthen their defense only to be met with more losses as the safety and defensive lineman were carted off with injuries. In the second quarter, Patriots ... • 63. Boykin Case Study With his first NFL preseason game in the books, Seattle Seahawks backup quarterback Trevone Boykin has gotten some attention throughout the league. The undrafted rookie threw the ball for 188 yards last Saturday against the Kansas City Chiefs, 37 of which came on a last second hail Mary to Tanner McEvoy. Boykin only needed 1:07 and four passes to drive the Seahawks 88 yards in route to the game ending drive, all but wrapping up the second string position behind Russell Wilson. Boykin re–entered the game during the fourth quarter and had earlier put together a drive that led to a field goal for Seattle. NFL scouts and coaches have said he is more elusive in the pocket than any other quarterback who was available in the 2016 draft. Boykin is also known for taking advantage of any space an opposing defense gives him, taking off with the ball 25 times throughout his last two seasons for rushes of at least 15 yards. There are a few things the youngster is going to have to work on if he wants to be in the NFL, even if it's just as a reliable backup. Boykin already faces some uncontrollable issues due to his height and his reputation for fumbling doesn't help. He has a habit of knowing exactly what he is going to do with the ball before he even walks out of the huddle and forcing the pass even when it's not open. While Boykin has tremendous arm and upper body strength, he has plenty of room for improvement concerning his footwork, especially when it comes to his follow through and delivery. Pete Carroll will not only be the perfect coach to help Boykin improve and develop with these issues, he will also help him mature and become a professional off of the field as well. The oldest coach in the NFL has made it clear that his lifestyle choices and off field issues which were the primary reason for Boykin going undrafted will not be tolerated if he wants to have a spot in ... • 65. T. Y. Molly Case Study Indianapolis Colts' number one wide receiver T.Y. Hilton is expected to miss one or two games after he bruised his left knee during the team's 27–14 road loss to the Buffalo Bills in their season opener on Sunday. Colts owner Jim Irsay officially announced the setback after the game, as per Yahoo Sports. Hilton was playing superbly, catching 7–of–14 passes for 88 yards to lead his team in receiving, when he was taken out of the game in the third quarter. "Touched my knee (Sunday) and it was really numb," Hilton said. "I felt a lot of swelling. It blew up on me real fast. Just hurting, sore to the touch." Backup Donte Moncrief ably filled–in for the 25–year–old wideout, going 6–of– 11 for 46 yards and a touchdown. Still, Indianapolis came up short and suffered ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... ESPN reported that an MRI confirmed Hilton only suffered a knee bruise and there are no structural damages to the former Florida International standout's knee, which means his status would be "day– to–day". Indianapolis' next game would be at the Lucas Oil Stadium versus the New York Jets on Monday and the Miami native is reportedly keen on playing that night. "Monday night speaks for itself," he said. "Everybody is watching Monday night, so it means a lot, especially going against a great Jets defense. It's one I really don't want to miss." However, the final decision is still on Pagano, who could elect to use Moncrief to extend Hilton's rest and recovery. Rookie wideout Phillip Dorsett, one of Pagano's trusty players, could also be in for extended minutes if Hilton would not be allowed to play against the Jest. • 69. Personal Narrative: I Believe In God I think the main purpose is to believe in god. I say this because throughout his whole career he always did something that god wanted him to do and kept going down the path that god wanted him to go. He never went for a job because of the money, he always prayed to god for help and he wants us to do that too because it will lead us to great things, like being a coach or be the first to make time travel. No one knows until they have tried it. A passage that stood out to me was in the high 100 and low 200. This touched me because he got fired but never gave up hope and knew that he got fired for a reason because God had something else planned for him. "We both felt like the Indianapolis Colts were a better fit for us. Jim Irsay's phone message had touched both of us. We decided that God was continuing the football dream for the Dungys." • 71. Summary: The Chargers The Chargers have won the Gus Bradley sweepstakes. The former Jaguars head coach was sought after by several teams after his firing, but has agreed to terms with the Chargers to be their defensive coordinator, a source informed told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport. While this is a team moving to a new city that recently hired a new head coach, there are several intriguing defensive pieces for Bradley to work with. No. 3 overall pick Joey Bosa had an electric rookie campaign, finishing with 10.5 sacks in 12 games. The quarterback takedowns don't even do him justice, as he was constantly terrorizing opposing signal callers and helpless blockers. While Melvin Ingram is about to hit the open market (he's No. 7 on Gregg Rosenthal's list of the top–25 impending free agents), Los Angeles can still apply a franchise tag on the pass rusher who has 18.5 sacks over the past two seasons. The secondary has a trio of tantalizing corners in Casey Hayward, Jason Verrett and Brandon Flowers. ... Bradley took over as Seahawks defensive coordinator in 2009, and Seattle's defense gave up 356.4 yards (24th in the NFL) and 24.4 points (25th) per game. • 75. Jason Garrett Research Paper Continuity Breeds Success In the current "win now NFL", head coach's seats are luke warm before the first whistle in training camp with their new team. Since the hot trend is to find an extremely young inexperienced guy to fill the main position on an NFL coaching staff, long tenured coaches are few and far between. The Cowboys, mostly Jerry Jones, seem to have noticed that frightening trend and the disarray it creates. Because of free agency, more often than not the incumbent coach is saddled with their predecessor's players that are still under contract. Those players may or may not fit the new coach's system, and trying to get those players to buy into a new system is probably the most difficult task of said coach's inaugural year. After Jason Garrett took the reigns from Wade Phillips in 2010, he attempted to inject his philosophies into his new team. His favorite term used ad nauseum during his first press conferences was "process". Dallas fans and media quickly became familiar with this term. His robotic pressers were lacking in personality, ... Garrett did not have a "player's coach" reputation. If he had a reputation going into week 10 of the 2010 season, it was that of a military communication style and a fiery competitor. He won his first game against The Giants in New York. Then Detroit came into Texas, and with Jon Kitna leading his team at QB Garrett's Cowboys won again. Garrett's only losses came against the eventual Superbowl champion New Orleans Saints, as well as the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Arizona Cardinals. Colt did much more than just make guns, he invented many things and pioneered many of the practices and techniques modern businesses all over the world still use, but he is still remembered today for his most famous invention, the revolver. Samuel Colt was born on July 19, 1814 in Hartford, Connecticut to a businessman named Christopher Colt and a woman named Sarah Caldwell, whose father was a major in the Revolutionary War . Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After this holdup, Colt began manufacturing cartridges made out of tin foil rather than common paper which was used at the time. The tin foil cartridges proved to be more reliable than the paper cartridges because the foil prevented the powder inside from getting wet while water soaked right through the paper. Soon Colt had a large contract with the United States government, providing hundreds of thousands of his new tin–foil cartridges. With the money he receive from his cartridges, Colt reinvested his money into the telegraph industry he made the waterproof cable for, and attempted to bring back the Patent Arms Manufacturing Company, but this failed. On January 4, 1847 Colt met with Texas Ranger Captain Samuel Walker. Walker had previously used Colt's revolvers in the Seminole War in Florida, however he wanted Colt to make a few changes to it. Walker wanted the handgun to be in a larger caliber, hold six rounds instead of five, and be quicker to reload.
