Specific Entry Competencies- Ask students what insects they know live on our continent.
State Objectives-
Students will locate and identify what types of insects live on certain continents by viewing a Glogster,
using Google Earth, and creating a blog entry. First the students will view the Giant insects on the
Glogster and discuss their exact location and size with the smartboard. Next, students will be put into
groups and be assigned a continent and a Giant insect. They will use their iPads to view the Glogster,
visit Google Earth, and NationalGeographic.com to research the continent, as well as, the Giant insect.
Finally, each student will individually create a blog that contains a post with the prompt, “What would it
be like to live there as an insect?” This will be done in one day with 90-100% accuracy.
