choice of fonts, content and overall layout.

magazine would be most appropriate for
the early too late teen age region. From
this I can have a variety of ideas for what

I have also used a pie chart to
show my findings more clearly for
specified questions; I asked this
question to get a better overview
as to what would be the most
popular music genre featured for
my magazine. From this it will give
me a better idea of what artists
and interviews to include as well as
selecting images and content that
match the genre featured.
As shown from my chart, the
dominating genre was Pop, this is
vital information as it will enable
me to produce a magazine that fits
this criteria.

This second pie chart shows what
colours my target audience would
expect to see within the magazine
being discussed; from this I was able to
see that the two main colours would
be Red and Blue, this could be featured
as dominant colour schemes within my
magazine as well as being the main
colours featured on the front cover.
The use of these colours are bright and
eye catching, so using them within my
magazine will be more likely to attract
readers rather than a dull and lifeless
magazine.

From this chart I was able to see that the
most popular result for my magazine to be
published was the monthly issue; this will
allow me to add more specified content into
my magazine as there will be more to discuss
rather than a weekly issue.
As well as this a monthly magazine is more
likely to attract readers as they will be more
inclined to read what's in the upcoming issue.
Furthermore, the majority of my target
audience have selected they prefer a monthly
issue rather than buying the magazine
weekly, this will help significantly in the
production of my magazine.

When my samples came back it was clear to see
that the question had multiple answers; the two
graphs display the majority of favourite bands from
people completing the questionnaire.
From this information I was able to see that Avicci
and 1975 were the leading best artists, Avicci links
in with the Dance music magazine I will produce so
my target audience will be more likely to read it if
they know articles and interviews with him will be
featured. This will benefit my production of my
magazine greatly.
9. What type of incentives would you like to see in this magazine?
16
When asking this question is to clear to
see that posters are the most important
incentive to be featured within a music
magazine, when the results are plotted
posters was the leading element and so
this will have to be featured as a incentive
available for my magazine.
Furthermore making my magazine will be
more likely to attract its audience as
readers will be intrigued to see the free
merchandise inside.

10. Which font(s) would you associate
with a Dance magazine:
When asking this question on my
questionnaire the results came back
that the most preferred font was the
last option.
When asking random sources of why
they chose this font they described it
as modern, easy to read and looks
neat. As well as this, this font could
be classed as recognisable for when I
produce my magazine, so when
readers see this font they can relate
it to the type of music discussed.

about them?

The use of a range of different topics
discussed will mean I am more likely to
produce better cover lines, puffs and
skylines to my front cover as there is more
to read about within the magazine, the
broad categories for the options ticked
allow me to vary what context I will put into
my magazine, meaning I can include
multiple feature or regular content.
As well as this, it will make my contents
page look more professional as there will be
more content featured, as well as more
images relating to the topic.

When asking the question what
words come to mind when thinking of
the magazine I am going to
produce, the answers were summed
up as: Music related
topics, Concerts, Artists of that
genre, and featured songs. This will
help me in the production of my
magazine as I will be more likely to
focus on these specific points rather
than focus of irrelevant topics such as
news.
Following from this, the topics within
the graph can be expanded or linked
within my magazine, showing readers
of the different things to read
about, meaning I can have a range of
different feature/regular content
within the contents page as they fall
under the same category that my
target audience have selected.
13. Would you buy a magazine such as this?
Finally, when asked would you buy a

This information also connected
with a previous question
asked, from ‘now and again’ being
the most used answer it links in
with my magazine being published
as a monthly issues, if the magazine
was weekly less people would be
inclined to buy it, but from ‘now

the idea of the magazine becoming
monthly more appropriate as the
readers will realistically buying the
magazine now and again.
