Reflection Of Tunay Na Ina
Confucius once said, "Study the past if you would define the future." Philippine cinema has undoubtedly and significantly improved over the years
but it would be an inaccurate and unsupported statement coming from me as I honestly have never viewed any film that dates back from the 1930s
to 1980s. In fact, the oldest Filipino film I watched was a 1998 film by Chito RoГ±o entitled Bata, Bata... Pano' Ka Ginawa?. However, I was
recently given the opportunity to watch an older film directed by Octavio Silos in 1939. In black and white, Tunay na Ina tells the story of
Magdalena's love and supposed motherhood.
The film begins with a moral dilemma. Carrying a baby who is a product of rape, Magdalena and her family are bewildered on what action they ... Show

To help her niece regain her husband's trust and forgiveness, Magdalena's aunt shows Roberto the letter she initially prepared and wrote for him.
Informed about her innocence, Roberto then looks for his wife. He finds her grieving in the cemetery and asks for her forgiveness as he
misunderstood her situation. However, a day before Christmas, Anday is seen to be awfully sick. Tita, however, bid her foster mother goodbye as
she takes off to perform in front of her true family. After performing and receiving positive remarks, she finds out that her foster mother has passed
away. Requested to sing once more, Tita cries and eventually stops performing as she was informed that Anday is dying. Fortunately, Anday was
able to say her final words to Tita as soon as she arrived. This scene is indeed the most heartbreaking scene in the movie as Naty Bernardo and Tita
Duran successfully executed their characters. They were able to effectively set the mood of the film with their facial expressions and powerful lines.
The film then ends with a positive note. Magdalena has finally created a deep bond with her daughter and is still happily married to Roberto.
Throughout the film, I noticed how each element of the film was well thought of. Since they shot on location and used clothes that were popular at the
time they filmed it, they were able to accurately show the intended setting of the plot. The songs that were composed

Creative Writing: Abigail Withers

"She'll be here any second." "I am serious, Mike," Jim said ratcheting up his voice. "It's you who should get serious. Just take a serious look at

"Hello," a stranger's voice called out from the lobby. "Is anybody here?" "She's here," Jim said, grabbing Mike by the arm before he could walk away.

Analysis Of The Story ' The Lady Or The Tiger '
Using the narrative skills we have discussed in class, create an ending to the story of "The Lady or the Tiger," picking up from the segment below:
Was the tiger going to come or the absolutely gorgeous lady everyone had been talking about? So many questions raced through the lover 's mind as
the door opened. His fate had rested within the princess, and he trusted her with all his heart. He loved her so much, and not being with the princess
pained more than he could ever demonstrate.
Once he had caught the subtle gesture of the princess, it was defined for the lover which path in his life's forked road he would follow. The truth of the
princess or her betrayal, the lady or the tiger, life or death?
He gulped as the door creaked open. His ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She couldn't stand the sight of her lover getting married to someone else.
Then, he moved his glance to the right to see the king with a big evil smirk on his face. The king knew that if he had set the tiger on the lover, his
daughter would hate him. So no one but him knew that behind the other door was another beautiful lady hidden.
Later that night, when the lover and the maiden had fallen asleep. The princess quick snuck around the guards and into their bedroom, tip–toeing
towards the young maiden.
Reaching into her pocket, she withdrew a sharp object. And, the next thing you know, there is blood scattered everywhere around the room, and even
on the princess 's clothes. Then, she carefully went moved to the other side of the bed and awoke the lover.
He slowly awakened and sensed someone above him, that aroma was pretty familiar to him... it was the princess. He was ecstatic, perhaps the whole
thing, the trial, arena, wedding and just perhaps it all was a terrifying nightmare. He glanced to see the other side of the bed to make sure it was, but
instead, he saw a lifeless body of the young maiden. He glanced towards the princess, a question right on his lips. But, the question had been answered
looking at the bloody knife in her hand.
"How could you?" the lover whispered.
"What! You didn't expect me to let you live your life with her... I mean what about us? Plus, this was an easy decision to make, no matter what, I would

Music as an Agent of Socialization Essay
Music has played a major role as an agent of socialization in each of my 4 decades. I know and hope that it will continue to do so. During each
period music has affected my personality, shown my personality, affected my perceptions and helped me to cope with growing and changing as a
person. My Looking Glass Self has compared the person in song and possibly the singer themselves to myself to gain perspective of who I was at
each time. I am going to discuss each decade with the thought of how music was an agent of socialization in each. I believe that music as an agent of
socialization is prominent in Symbolic Interactionism. Songwriters and musicians, like poets, includes symbolism in there lyrics. They give musical
symbols by which we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I loved these musicals. Movies like these carry life lessons and socialization experiences that show what life can be like in a more fantasy way. Radio
was another part of mass media that affected my socialization. Most of the time country music was what my parents listened to. Loretta Lynn and
Tanya Tucker were my favorites. I still remember the words to Delta Dawn by Ms Tucker. As you can see there was a great variety in the music that I
was exposed to as a small child in those early cognitive years.
Music had a great impact on my secondary socialization during my second decade. It had an impact on my Self Socialization as well. Music in
my peer groups reflected in my choice of listening preference. I began to formulate who I was outside of my parents and other family. I formed
friendships with others my age with different interests that showed me there was even more to explore in life. During this time mass media was
changing and cable television was becoming popular. Along with cable, MTV was brand new. Yes, I was an original MTV viewer. MTV brought
music even more into view in my life. My television stayed tuned to MTV. I awoke and went to sleep listening to the popular music of the day. It was

Hands Of Stone Psychological Theory
Hands of Stone is a 2016 film, directed by Jonathan Jakubowicz. The film is a biopic based on Panamian boxing legend, Robert Duran, played by
Edgar Ramirez. The film shows his rise from a poor street boxer to a feared amateur known for his free spirit and early knockouts. In his quest for
greatness he meets the love of his life, Felicidad (Ana de Armas), illustrious boxing coach Ray Arcel (Robert Di Nero), and goes head to head with
American champion Sugar Ray Leonard (Usher Raymond). Through the lens of basic needs theory, an individual's motivation is determined by how
well a situation fits the individual's needs (Fraser–Thomas, 2017). More specifically in the domains of autonomy, competence, and relatedness.
Throughout the film, Duran experiences ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Autonomy involves feeling ownership over behaviour in such a way that one's actions stem from a sense of perceived choice & internal control
(Fraser–Thomas, 2017). Autonomy exhibits a positive relationship with motivation, so when feelings of autonomy are low, motivation levels will
decline accordingly. It can understood that in the first fight with Leonard, Duran seeks and initiates the fight on his own free will. During this fight
when Felicidad, Ray, and what Duran perceives as all of Panama is supporting him, his perceived autonomy is at an all time high and as a result so
is his motivation. He goes on to dominate Leonard and give him his first defeat to become world champion. The second fight is a completely
different dynamic. Since Eleta agrees to the fight without Duran's permission, he feels violated. He is completely stripped of his autonomy because
he no longer possesses a sense of perceived choice and internal control. Furthermore when Leonard begins insulting him at the press conference and
his wife winks at Leonard, he begins to feel a loss of control and that everyone is turning against him. Finally during the fight when he tells Ray he
thinks the size of the ring is rigged he displays a complete lack of autonomy. It leads to him forfeiting the match and displays that without autonomy,
motivation will be very low or even completely
