1. Garzón 17 july 1975 Dear Luisa Las summer I went to Boston to study English in a language school. I was in Boston for two months. I stayed with an American family, who live in a suburb near the city. Mrs. Taylor works as an attorney, and her husband has a good job with an insurance company. I enjoyed being at the language school. I met students of many different nationalities Japanese, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. The teachers were very nice and taught me a lot, but I didn't like doing so much homework. See you soon, with love, Iván ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Julie Newton 510 S. It was great to see you, and I'm glad that you've found a job that you like. Nick and I especially enjoyed seeing the Golden Gate Bridge. It was fantastic. We had a wonderful time and we didn't want to come home. Hope to see you again soon. Love, Julie --------------------------------------------------------------------- 2937 South Cherry Street Washington, D. C. November 15 1963 Dear Charlie, Today I want to tell you about my last experinces in this great city. Last weekend was a very busy one. I was out two nights. Juan González; do you remember him?, my classmate from Medellín was here visiting. He is studying now in New York. We were at a party last Saturday night. It was quite a party. It was a lot of fun. There were many Latin Americans and you know how enthusiastic they are. On Sunday night we were again at a party but this wasn't as good as the other one. Juan and I were disappointed and we came home about ten o'clock. I got your letter on Monday morning. I was so tired, sleepy and weary; but after readng your letter I was cheerful and full of pep for the rest of day. You're the same fellow! Always full of wit and humor. That was a wonderful letter. I hope you will come here next year. I am going to write to your father tomorrow. He will be happy to know more about this school. I think it's wonderful. Now I'm trying to catch up with my lessons. I have plenty of work to do. Besides my regular courses I am taking piano lesson everyday. I am also on the school track team. We have practice every other day from 4:00 to 6:00 in the afternoon. We sometimes spend all saturday morning with our coach. Give my regards to your family and friends. With best wishes, I am, Sincerely yours, Marcos. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- K.8 N° 15-28 Cali, Valle October 8, 1961 Dear Richard, Thanks for your letter of September eighth. I am glad you are fine. We are very happy in Cali. This city is beautiful. It is very warm but it isn't humid. I'm in the first year of high school and Charlie is in the second year. Johnny, Anita and Peter are doing very well. They are very good students, you know. Their school is near our home. It is only two blocks away. Charlie and I go to different schools. They are far from home. We take the school bus every morning. We come home at four o'clock in the afternoon. My father is in good health. My mother is sick now. She has trouble with her teeth. They send you greetings . Give my regards to your parents. Good luck in your studies. Please write me soon, Sincerely yours, Ximena. -----------------------------------------------------------------------
