My Christmas Holiday
1. My Christmas Holiday
Now that I'm older and more mature, I believe that I now understand the meaning of Christmas better but I am not as excited for the holiday than I
was as a child. Last Christmas Eve, I was excited for my brothers and grandparents coming down from the city. I would have to wake up really
early in the morning to clean the whole house, such as, sweeping the halls and cleaning the dinner tables. While I was cleaning, my mother started
cooking and taking out the turkey out of the fridge, that has been prepared and marginated since the day before. I would take small breaks just so I
could watch her because she was using my great grandmother's recipe which consisted of using twenty tomatoes for the sauce. My eyes would burn
as she cut the tomatoes and onions since the acidity mixed together, then she would put them in a huge pot along with putting in chicken broth and
hispanic peas. When she started to heat up the sauce, the aroma filled the whole house and my mouth water already imagining what it would taste
like. The sauce was my favorite part of the food since it was so savory and delicious, it was hard not to enjoy it. My mother would bathe the turkey
with the sauce and each beadlet of sauce would either be soaked up or slide off the turkey's back, it was very beautiful in a weird way. After bathing
the turkey, she would put the turkey in the oven and on occasion she would do the same progress again, but just in the oven. The next step was making
mash potatoes, which went

2. Persuasive Essay On Christmas Research Paper
The most collectively celebrated holiday of the year is undeniably December 25th, Christmas. Most people acknowledge that the "Christ" in
Christmas is representative of Jesus Christ, Son of God, and for Christians, the day is set aside as a celebration of his birth. Many people in the
United States (and world) however, either do not believe in the Christian view of Christmas, have different non–Christian religious beliefs or celebrate
for other reasons, if at all. Because of the multi–cultural differences that incorporate our country, Christmas should be declared by Congress as simply
a Federal Holiday. This would be achieved if the dominant "Christ" aspect from "Christ"–mas was removed by renaming the holiday to The Winter

Many secular traditions have been incorporated in America over the last 140 years including tree decorating, exchanging cards and gifts, non–religious
Christmas songs, Santa Claus, twinkling lights, among many other traditions. Some of these traditions were expanded from religious traditions for
example; gift giving is based on the belief that The Three Wise Men brought gifts to Jesus in the manger. However commercialism has long owned
this "tradition" and in fact, it has been widely recognized that Thanksgiving Day and Christmas are necessary for getting the economy moving and out
of the "red" hence; Black Friday, the 'first' day of the holiday shopping season. It is also true that President Franklin D. Roosevelt moved Thanksgiving
to the fourth Thursday of November in order to extend the holiday shopping season for precisely this purpose.
Congress declared December 25th a federal holiday in the United States in 1870. President Ulysses S. Grant signed the bill to enact Christmas along
with 3 other holidays: New Year's, July 4th and Thanksgiving as public holidays. Many people however believe that including Christmas with these
secular holidays was an error because back then Christmas only meant the celebration of Jesus' birth, which is construed by many as a conflict of the
separation of church and state. The First Amendment of our Constitution clearly states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of

The celebration of Christmas is a special moment itself.
I enjoy the process of preparing for the holiday very much. Our whole family participates in the process. For many years I am responsible for the
decoration of the house. I like putting the Christmas toys on the tree and lighting the candles. Also I go outside the house and see what can be
decorated there.
Especially I like when it snows outside. The snow is a symbol of the Christmas; to me it is also a symbol of the renewal and cleanliness of the
upcoming event. In addition the streets are simply decorated already when it is snowing outside. In conclusion I would like to summarize the factors
that make Christmas a particularly interesting and great holiday.
First of all, I enjoy the unique atmosphere of the holiday. The feeling that is present in the air at those days cannot be compared to anything else. The
feeling of Holy joy and happiness arises every living thing to do good and kind things. The second thing that attracts me the most about the holiday is
that during these days every person somehow goes back to the childhood. The presents under the Christmas tree along with congratulations from
everyone in the street allows the person to feel himself young and full of strength, like in the days of youth when everything was possible and no
worries could frighten him. The last but not least thing about

4. My Winter Holiday Essay
Like last winter holiday, I did a part–time job for a month in order to experience social life and earn some extra money. After seven days when I
stayed at home, I went to a local supermarket and found a job which to promote the products. It was good for me because I just had to spend 6
hours per day to work outside. Nevertheless the biggest shortcoming is that during the work time I had no time to play with my friends and relatives.
Thus, I didn't do anything fun until Feb.20. At the end of the holiday, I went to see a midnight movie and ate BBQ with my friend. I did feel happy
when I could have fun with old friends and spend time earning some money. All in all, I enjoyed my winter holiday! Warm
–up #2 If you could travel
anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? If I can go to any place in the world, I want to go to Finland most. The idea comes from a
variety show. It shows me a beautiful Finland. Snow gleams white there, like a kingdom that is covered by snow. We can go fishing on the frozen
river, and sit on the sleigh car pulled by reindeer. We can also see the aurora. Finland, home of Santa Claus, it has a famous Christmas town. Finnish
people are very friendly, if I get a chance, I'd like to go...show more content...

5. My Christmas Experience
Christmas at my grandparent's home was one of the best experiences, my extended family, exposed to me. My extended family consisted of my
grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and neighbors (Seccombe, 2012). The house was lit up with lights and the Christmas tree was in the corner over
the room with the Lionel train set underneath. The day would start early on Christmas eve, Id help my grandmother prepare the food for the dinner to
come. I would peel the potatoes as she prepared the mushroom soup. I breaded the smelts as my grandfather deboned them. Perogies' and onions
cooked on the coal stove above the fire; as the ham and kielbasa baked in the oven. The aroma of food consumed her home, I can still smell it today. My
family fasted on Christmas eve, so the meat couldn't be eaten until midnight.
As the meal cooked, we would get dressed in our Christmas attire. I wore a sweater that I received from my Aunt the previous year. It was ugly and
I didn't like it, but mom made me wear it. Our extended family showed up one by one, until there was no room left in the kitchen. They piled
downstairs and sat where they could, the table, steps, or the cot under the window. My grandfather, the patriarch, sat at the head of the table in his
usual spot (Seccombe, 2012). After dinner, I always got stuck washing the dishes, I was the oldest of the cousin.
Later, Gram played the organ as everyone gathered in the living room to sing Christmas songs. My grandfather sat in his chair, by the
