Dear 4th Graders and Families,
Welcome to a new school year! I am excited to be your teacher! We have
so many interesting things to learn and lots of technology to make it engaging and
fun. Fourth grade is a big year- it is your last year at Shirley Hills and the year you
get to go to Wolf Ridge. It is going to be a great year!
In academics we focus on reading, math, writing, social, and science in our
day-to-day activities. We have media class once a week and visit the computer lab
at least twice a week.
To stay up to date with happenings in our classroom, check out our class
blog (classroom209.blogspot.com). It contains student videos and pictures,
homework assignments, important dates, and much more. Also, check out our
fourth grade blog (shirleyhills4th.blogspot.com). This site is full of links and video
we use to support learning. Please call or e-mail (see below) with any questions or
concerns that may arise.
Who am I? I’m a husband and father. My two boys, Jack (starting third
grade) and Aidan (starting kindergarten) and daughter, Amelia (turning three in
November) keep my wife and I busy. My wife, Jodi, teaches first and second
graders in Chaska.
This past summer was awesome for our family. We celebrated my wife’s
first year as a breast cancer survivor! We cheered her on as she walked 60 miles
for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure a couple of weeks ago.
I am looking forward to meeting all of you and having an excellent school
year.
