2. Hermia and Egeus
Hermia, in love with Lysander refuses to marry Demetrius, in contravention of
Egeus's desire, his father. Demetrio, meanwhile, is loved by a friend of Hermia,
Helena, whom he has abandoned to marry Hermia. According to Athenian law,
the Duke Theseus gives Hermia four days' time to obey the Father's will, after
which she will die.
After last night in the woods, Demetrio is smeared with the juice of the flower
that makes him correspond to Helena.
3. Titania and Oberon
Oberon and Titania, king and queen of the fairies who inhabit the forest, have
quarreled because of a page.
Oberon asks the sprite Puck, which will provide some magical flower whose
juice poured on Titania's eyes while you sleep,(oberon is jealous and angry with
Titania because she retains a page) make you fall in love the first being who sees
when he wakes up.While Oberon has put the filter on the eyelids of Titania,
who, upon awakening, found beside Bottom the weaver with a donkey's head
rather than his own.
Titania falls for him when he sees one, and requiebra for its beauty. The
surprising Oberon, Titania who pities, and after recovering the kidnapped page,
rubs the eyes of his wife with an herb that releases charm.
4. Hippolyta and
Theseus
In preparation of Theseus's marriage to Hippolyta, two pairs of lovers are lost in
the forest of unrequited love: Hermia loves Lysander, but is committed to
Demetrius, which in turn is loved by Elena.
5. Finally,
Before the new order, the lovers are apologizing before the law and
married with Theseus and Hippolyta with the blessing of Titania and
Oberon, who has regained the love of his queen and has made them
believe all they remember is just the dream of a summer's night.
6. Shakespeare shows us in this play how women in this
age change their role and begin to make decisions
and confront what they do not like…
