  4. 4. Apollonian Dionysian City In the city, the characters live with laws and they use the reason. Wood In the wood, they use the magic and instinct to solve their problems.
  5. 5. Apollonian Dionysian King, father Fairies
  6. 6. Apollonian Dionysian Order In the city, they live with more order. Chaos While, in the wood, it's more chaotic.
  7. 7. Apollonian Dionysian Light and day Darkness and night At night, most problems are solved.
  8. 8. Apollonian Dionysian Waking Dreaming • As an example of this we have the nigthmare of Helena.
  9. 9. CONCLUSION The characters in A Midsummer Night's Dream should mix, in their lives, the previous characteristics, to solve their problems and to be happy. As is the custom in Shakespearean comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream explores conflicting Apollonian and Dionysian values of order and chaos, discipline and unrestraint, respectively
