  13. 13. The continental shelf is agently sloping, shallow areathat extends from the edge of the continent.
  14. 14. The continental slope issituated at the edge of thecontinental shelf; the ocean floor drops off in a steep incline.
  15. 15. Seamounts are mountainsthat are completely under water.
  16. 16. A continuous range of mountains that windsaround the whole earth underwater.
  17. 17. A smooth and nearly flatarea of the ocean floor that is situated just beyond the continental slope.
