clothes the man is wearing is typical hip hop clothing,
baggy t shirt/vest baggy low jeans and chain. The
graffiti is linked to Hip Hop because its seen as an art
and expresses the music. The old school music player
represents music on the move and being able to do it
wherever.

typical things come into mine when you think
of HIP HOP. The images include hoods
up, caps, new trainers, headphones and spray
cans which are all related to HipHop in a
sense.
5. Hip-hop is presented as a modern type of music by
the media and generally positively.
The stereotypes the media give to HipHop is quite
negative such as drugs,violence,crime,graffiti are all
related to Hip-hop.
The view is that HipHop influences these things as
songs are generally based on crime.
However, in the music magazines it is portrayed well
such as the music is upbeat and the future of music.

In this interview which was live on
television, Eminem talks about his
music and life. The interview is very
comical and it explains the origin
behind his songs especially “We Made
You” about why he „disses‟ certain
celebrities claiming it is not a
personal thing. He speaks about his
personal problems about drugs and
how he overcame them.

10. Many people listen to HipHop music as it is a large music category.
The stereotypical person who listens to HipHop is a African
American black, however this is not the case as in the USA it is
thought more than 70% of HipHop by white Americans.
HipHop music is popular worldwide and has grown since it was
produced, it is listened to by so many HipHop Artists go touring
Europe from America as they have such a wide fan base.
Although people who listen to HipHop are stereotyped, many people
listen to this despite the stereotype, people from all places,
different sexualities, races and ages.
11. Few might say that these lyrics do not effect the people who
listen despite content involved. However, the rate of
crime, violence and gang activity has risen over the last years.
According to Josphson Institute Statistics these are the results:
Large cities claim that 72% of their school violence is connected
to gang activity.
Between 1986 and 1992, the total number of children killed by
firearms rose by 144%.
From 1985 to 1993, murders committed by people over age 25
dropped 20%; but they increased 65% among 18- to 24-year-olds
and increased 165% among 14- to 17-year-olds.
Some say it influences drugs and a gangster lifestyle.
