1. Formal proposal
Title of magazine
The title of my magazine I have chosen is ‘bass’ this is because it is short
snappy and memorable. It also would go with my genre of magazine as the
genre has a wide range. So ‘bass’ would fit perfectly. It also goes
accordingly to my artist ‘Zac’.
Choice of genre
I have chosen chart music as my genre, as I am into that genre of music
and I have been for a while now. I like most types of genres of music and
chart music covers a majority of it. It reflects my taste of music this
would make it easier for me to compose my ‘bass’ magazine.
My Target Audience
Chart music targets both females and males aged ’14 – 27’, this is quite a
wide ranged target audience. This makes it easier when I produce my
magazine. I have decided to use a typical hot and manly looking man/boy
for my front cover; this would attract my targeted audience. My main
article will be of a young and up coming girl duo. So both males and
females are targeted
Initial ideas for front cover
I’m going to use an MCU shot of a young man who is has a good dress
sense who has ‘swag’ as the youngsters call it. He will be sexy and show
attitude. He will also look powerful and strong. The colour scheme for my
magazine would be shades of blue, purple and grey.
Initial ideas for my contents page
I will have my masthead on my contents page and I will have contents on
the top of the page in the same font as my masthead or cover lines. My
contents page colours will follow the same as my cover. I will have the top
10 artist on the left two thirds of the page. I will in total have 4 images
on my contents page, 3 small images and 1 large picture that fade into the
page. I will also add editors note on the bottom right hand corner of my
page.
2. Initial ideas for my main article
I will use one enlarged image of my girl band; both will have a good sense
of fashion and will look up to date with fashion. Their facial expressions
will be serious like they mean business, like bringing out their personality.
I will use the same colour scheme as through the rest of the magazine.
Again in the corner of my double page spread I will add my magazine
name. My article will be an interview with the band.
