2. The Codes and Convention of a radio advert are:
Music- This makes the audience feel a specific way and also adds effect whilst in the background.
Presenter(on screen/ off screen)- Someone who works with the radio company and this person talks
about what will happen in the show on the day.
Expert- A person who comes onto the show to talk thoroughly about the media subject presented in the
show.
Duration: 10-60 is how long the advert will last.
Silence- As the radio advert finishes it fades into silence as it nears the end.
Voice over- A piece of narration in show and media product.
Narrative- This is a script that the presenter follows and also asks questions to the expert from this.
VOX pops- The public giving their opinions in the show.
Archival Footage- Footage from the past used in the show.
Inserts/ Cut ins- A piece from a shot that is edited into a different shot.
Titles & Credits- The show the audience what the show is called and what it is about.
Name of the Doc- Informs the audience what topic the show will go into depth in.
Opposing opinions- People with different views so it makes the show more interesting for the
public.(Good/Bad)
Speech- A talk on the radio advert, as it may be an off screen or on screen radio advert.
Direct speech- This is breaking the fourth fall and this is where you talk directly to the audience giving
direct address.
