used because they are presenting factual news and the audience will take
the show more seriously and take the information reliably. This also gives a

their names on the show quite often

breaks. This is so the audience is
aware of who's presenting for future
references.
Headlines – The presenters normally
have headlines for each section of the
show to keep audience updated on what
they will be talking about and the

the headline, soon after it goes into a
detailed story which another presenter
presents. This structure is repeated in
most radio news shows.

there are always correspondents to

given. They have an additional
input which help the audiences
understanding and gain more
knowledge on the event/scenario.

weather report on radio news channels.
This is to inform people on the weeks
weather which will attract a larger
audience.

sports news on Radio, this
attracts more people to listen and
stay tuned and there will be a
larger audience due to the variety
of different types of news.
Archival sound – archival sound may be
played in radio news to track back to
previous cases are to get the audience
to recognize a certain scenario or
situation.

This is so the audience are
aware of the show because
this piece of music is what
represents the show. It’s a
sign that a specific news show
is starting.
