3. Why I am going to use these Images
I am going to use these images because not only have
they inspired me by the way they are shot and colours
used but I have decided to have certain bands that fit the
indie pop genre, in my magazine. I will photograph
people of my choice stood in a similar position to imitate
them and bring in their audience so my magazine would
gain more attention and readers. For example, I can shoot
the long shot of the 4 boys on the wall, in a similar way
and use it on the front cover of my magazine to intrigue
people that possibly listen to that band. I also like the way
the Mumford and Sons album cover is shot, in the front
window. It’s different and unique which will intrigue
readers and make them pick up my magazine.
4. Fonts
The first one is the Facebook, YouTube and
Twitter icons because I am going to include
them on my magazine so it appeals more to
the younger generation I am aiming it at.
I am going to use “Break it” because I think it
will suite the style of my magazine and it’s also
interesting and unique. “Crackin” will also look
good along side with “Break it” so I will use
this for my cover lines, it will tie in well with
the indie pop style that I am trying to achieve. I
am going to use “DOTIMPACT” for my double
page spread title and because it appears blurry
I think it will intrigue the readers of my
magazine because it is different to any font I
have seen before. It’s a good idea to use it
because it gives off an indie vibe.
5. Colour schemes
This is one colour scheme that I have
thought about using, I like it because it is
simple yet effective. It will go well with
my indie style theme and it is similar to
NME, which is also an indie magazine,
this means that people will already be
use to the colour scheme and it isn’t
anything too bright and ‘in your face’. It
could be aimed at a boy or girl audience
which is convenient.
This is another colour scheme that I have
thought about using on my magazine. It is
aimed more at a girl audience, which my
magazine is aimed at. I have chosen to use
this colour scheme because it is more suited
for the audience I am aiming it at. Also, the
Billboard magazine is an example of how the
colour scheme works with the person on the
front.
