Measures of Dispersion and Variability: Range, QD, AD and SD
Question 7
1. 7. Looking back at your
preliminary task, what do you feel
you have learnt in the progression
from it to the full product?
How have you developed your
skills and knowledge since you
constructed your preliminary task?
(IT skills, design knowledge of
magazine conventions, music
knowledge)
2. I think that I have progressed a lot since the preliminary task, my final
magazine looks a lot more professional and clean due to the fact that I
learnt the conventions of magazines. For example splitting the page
into strips to keep the page from getting messy. I have kept the “less is
more” concept but have filled the gaps with relevant information but
have kept the text size small so the page doesn’t look cluttered. I have
also learnt that putting an effect on the picture doesn’t look bad as
long as it fits into the theme and colour scheme of the magazine.
3. I have learnt that when displaying bigger text or images that
putting a boarder around them or splitting the page up into two
sections makes the information stand out more. I have learnt that
smaller images look better overlapped and doesn’t make the
magazine look less professional. I have also learnt that if you carry
a colour scheme through all the pages helps make the magazine
flow like a professional one.
