Duration : 20 minutes
1.0 Goal:
Students will thoroughly explore identifying nouns and know how to use it.
2.0 Objectives :
2.1 : Terminal Objective :
Students will able to use correct nouns in formal writing or in essay.
2.2 : Enabling Objective:
2.2.1: Students will identify and underline nouns in sentences.
2.2.2: Students will decide whether these nouns are countable or uncountable in
the exercise.
2.2.3: Students will categorize the proper, common and collective nouns
correctly.
3.0 Teaching Materials :
3.1: Slides – PowerPoint
3.2: Worksheet:
I. Circle the nouns.
II. Decide whether these nouns are countable or
uncountable in the exercise.
III. Choose the correct answer (proper and common nouns).
IV. Choose the correct answer (collective nouns).
4.0 Procedures :
4.1: Set Induction (warm up) (5 minutes)
4.1.1: Teacher asks students to tell what they can see around them.
4.1.2: Teacher writes the answers on the white board.
4.1.3: Teacher asks students to guess the topic today.
4.2: Nouns. (10 minutes)
4.2.1: Teacher shows the categories and function of nouns to students.
4.2.2: Teacher asks students to read aloud the definition. (whole-class activity)
4.2.3: Teacher explains about nouns.
4.2.4: Teacher distributes the exercise to the students.
4.2.5: Teacher asks students to read aloud the instruction.
4.2.6: Teachers asks students to circle all the nouns in the exercise given.
(individual activity)
4.2.7: Teacher asks for volunteers to read the answers in front of the class.
4.2.8: Teacher picks the target students to come in front the class.
4.2.9: Teacher asks students to decide whether these nouns are countable or
uncountable based on the slides. (meaningful activities)
4.2.10: Teacher gives reward to the students who answer correctly.
4.3: Class Exercise (10 minutes)
4.3.1: Teacher distributes class worksheets.
4.3.2: Teacher asks students to read the instruction and carry out the task.
4.3.3: Teacher goes round to make that everyone is doing the task and teacher.
4.3.4: Teacher approaches and explains to students who do not clear regarding
the lesson.
4.3.5: Teacher asks students to give the answers to the exercises given.
4.4: Class Activities
4.4.1: Teacher asks students to form a group.
4.4.2: Teacher gives task for each group.
4.4.3: Teacher asks for the volunteer to give the answer from each group.
4.4.4: Teacher gives reward for the winner’s group.
4.5: Closure (5 minutes)
4.5.1: Teacher highlightthe categories and function of nouns to students.
5.0 Evaluation
The terminal objective is evaluated as the students will able to use correctly adjectives in
formal writing or in essay.
Enabling objectives:
1. Will be evaluated when students identify and underline nouns in sentences.
2. Will be evaluated when students decide whether these nouns are countable
or uncountable in the exercise.
3. Will be evaluated when students categorize the proper, common and
collective nouns correctly.
