New exam exam Exam exam
Teaching approach: The first part of the class has been based on a
communicative approach follow by a task-based method. The students
will practice the topics they had to prepare for the exam through
communicating to complete a task.
3. Integration of skills: In order to develop both the warm up stage and the
Picasso games, students will be integrating speaking along with writing
skills.
Materials: Picasso game, exam sheets
Use of ICT: ------
Assessment in class: I will monitor students as they develop the game
and take their exam and provide help if need it and check that they
understand the assignment.
Seating arrangements. The first part of the class students will be sitting
in pairs. Those students that have forgotten the working sheet will team
up and I will have them work together.
In order to take the exam, students will be placed away from one another
to avoid cheating.
Routine:
I greet the students and remind them that we have “the end of the unit”
(book unit) Exam.
Warm up:(5’)
To activate students´ knowledge we will make a “unscramble” game.
Here they will have to look to a scrambled word and unscramble it. They
will pass to the front, 2 students at the time. The idea of this “game” is to
activate students´ prior knowledge and get them ready for the exam.
These are the scramble words: on top of, at the bottom, around, in the
middle, in the shape, on the left, on the right, behind, huge, dramatic,
smooth, round, curved, vibrant, subtle, square.
Presentation:(5’)
Now, did you all bring your Picasso worksheet? (in the cases that
haven’t I will have a backup photocopy)
Ok, now get in pairs to start working on it! We only have 15’ to do this
brief review before the exam!
4. Students will finish playing the Picasso game. The class before they
were given the photocopies to practise at home for the exam. Each
student had to complete the instructions and this class they will have to
listen to their classmates´ instructions.
Development:(15’)
Picasso game:
Get together in pairs, and listen to your classmates´ instructions. Once
you have finished, take a look at your mates drawing and compare them,
do they look the same? If you notice any differences go over the
instructions again and check what wasn’t done right.
5. Transition:(5’)
Now that we have finished with the game let’s put our things away and
prepare to take the exam.
In exercise 1 you have to use the words in the box and place them next
to the correct definition.
In exercise 2 you have to read the paragraph carefully and circle the
correct options. Do not rush into choosing a word, instead read the
whole text and try to understand the whole idea, then proceed to choose
the correct option.
In Exercise 3 there is a “Coats of Arms”, ok? Like the ones we’ve been
describing class after class, so please pay special attention to the
location of things in the coats of arms, read every sentences, and
complete with the correct word from the box. Good luck!
Exam:(50’)
As the students complete the exam, I will be monitoring and clarifying if
they have any doubts.

Everyone expected Rosie to wear bright colours, but instead she chose a
