What Are The Siblings Role In Fairytales
The connections that people have with their siblings is a complicated one. Some see their
counterparts as close friends that they can count on, but some lack the 'family' vibe that people
would expect from relatives. In fairytales, siblings play many roles to progress the stories in ways
that make them interesting, exciting, and surprising. How do authors incorporate the siblings into
their stories? Are the siblings roles as important as the main character? If the siblings were not in the
story would the outcome be different? Do the roles of the siblings represent something other than
just a family member? This paper will examine the role that siblings play in fairytales. In the story
of Beauty and the Beast the elder sisters waste no time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These two daughters however were different than Cinderella. They thought the stepdaughter should
have to work for her place in the family, ironically from the same situation that Cinderella was in.
One day the father left for the fair one day. Cinderella wanted the branch that first brushed her
father's head on his journey. The other two daughters after hearing what Cinderella asked for were
very greedy asking for much more than just a branch off a tree. This expands on the point that
beauty is not always a material aspect of a person. Soon after the king announced for all the girls of
the kingdom to come so his son could pick a bride. The step sisters were excited and were anxious
to win the princes heart. The Stepsisters commanded that their second class sibling pretty them up to
meet the prince. In this story the main character is taken advantage of because of her position in the
family. The stepsisters are expressing nothing but greed in their wishes for Cinderella to pamper
them. This lesson is obvious, but is there a deeper meaning to the story? Perhaps the author wants to
teach all of us that although you may not be the one receiving credit for something. You will still be
rewarded for your efforts to achieving the goal. This relates to common day situations where in
businesses and governments the person who gives the speech is almost never the person who writes

Outline Of A Fairytale
1.) It is a fairytale, and fiction. 2.) The exposition is when the king lets all of the land he rules that if
anyone could find out where his 12 daughters dance all night, he could choose one to marry.
Whoever failed after three nights, would be sentenced to death. "Then the king made it known to all
the land, that if any person could discover the secret, and find out where it was that the princesses
danced in the night, he should have the one he liked best for his wife, and should be king after his
death; but whoever tried and did not succeed, after three days and nights, should be put to death." 3.)
The rising action is when all of the failed attempts were happening, and when the soldier came
across the old lady. The climax is when he went into the trap door to follow the princesses, and
followed them all night until they came back. The falling action is when he woke up the next
morning, to tell the king where they dance. The twelve daughters were listening behind a door. The
denouement is when the old soldier chooses to have the eldest daughter to be his wife. The
characters all have their daily lives back, the soldier and eldest daughter were the only ones with
different lives. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not traditional ones because there is no real "villains" in the story, but the antagonists are the
princesses. 5.) The most important traits of the main character (soldier), is that he is slick. He did a
very good job not getting caught, by sneaking on rowing boats without being sensed, and by
sneaking back to his sleeping spot without being seen. If he was not as slick as he was, the ending
would not have turned out the way it did, and he might be

Grimm's Fairytales
Introduction: Grimm Fairy Tales is a popular genre to children and society. The stories and remakes
of the fairy tales are the basis of the original. Grimm Fairy tales include Snow White, Sleeping
Beauty, Cinderella, Ariel, Rapunzel and many others. The story usually includes a curse, a fairy or
magic, a prince saving the princess and a moral. Fairy tales have a huge impact on pop culture and
how children and young adults perceive reality and love. For English class, we are presenting a
research paper based on fairy tales, folktales, or fables. Over the course of six months in English
class we have been studying stories, and have looked at the Canterbury Tales, etc. These stories are
passed down from generation to generation and give us ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During world war two, people thought the fairytale encouraged genocide because of the intense
death in some of Grimm Brothers stories. Bettelheim took a psychological approach in his book
"The Uses of Enchantment" and believed that "fairytales arose from children's subconscious as he
sought to demonstrate fairy tales accurately projected children's psychological needs and neatly
describe their psychosexual desires." (Buttigheimer, Par 17) In contrast, most theorist believed that
fairy tales create a social norm and motifs for children. In modern day, fairytales have more
egocentric values. The stories I chose to research were Little Red Cap, Rapunzel, Little Snow White,
Hansel and Gretel, and Little Briar Rose. Little Red Cap is a tale of a young girl who is deceived by
a wolf, who then tries to eat her grandmother and her but is saved by the huntsman. Rapunzel is
about a young baby who was traded in place for her parents' misfortune of taking rampion, she grew
up in a tall tower that only had a window. The enchantress called out to Rapunzel and she would let
down her hair, a young prince saw this one day and began to do so. She is banished and the prince
grows with despair, in the end they find each other and live happily ever after. Hansel and Gretel is
about two kids who are sent into the woods by their father, they

Charles Perrault’s Fairytales
The Introduction:
Fairytales are stories that have some magical aspects. They usually tell a story about a castle and
times when kings ruled the land. I always loved the princesses in these stories. When I was young, I
would dress up as them. My friends and I would act out the stories. They usually teach a lesson. I
always wanted the princess to escape of find a happy ending. Most fairytales end with "Happily ever
after."
Stories give us a distraction and a fantasy from real life. Stories give us a somewhat perfect picture
of life. We try to make our lives reflect the story in some way. Most people even paint others as evil
or mean, like the villains in the story. This paper's purpose is to incorporate fairy tales and their ...

She is faced with troubles trying to prohibit her from her happy ending, of marrying the prince.
Another fairy tale that is very well–liked is "Little Red Riding Hood." In this story, Little Red
Riding Hood is on a quest to go to her grandmother's house. An evil wolf tricks her and ends up
eating her in the end. The readers of fairy tales have been using these stories as examples for their
lives, since the 18th century.
Since fairy tales set and example for real life situations, it is important to see the naivety of the main
character is a main reason why the evil enemies are able to take advantage of them so effortlessly. In
the fairy tale, "Sleeping Beauty in the Wood", the princess' curiosity captivates her and she pricks
her finger, on the spindle. The evil old fairy barely had to use her magic powers on the girl. In
"Little Red Riding Hood", her curiosity of the grandma's different looks and gullibility gets her
close enough to the wolf for her to be eaten, in the end. Also, in the fairy tale "Blue Beard", the
young wife wants to open the locked closet door. Her curiosity guides her to do so, which leads her
husband to put her in a dangerous situation and almost death. Therefore, it is important to realize
and understand the naivety of characters in the stories and their confrontations with evil characters.
Fairy tales offer a solution to the problem faced in the story, with

Emerald City: An Unraveled Fairytales
An unraveled fairytale
Once upon a time, there was a railway system connecting different passages to the Emerald City, a
place where each person wishes to be at the top, to obtain their freedom, equality, and their social
status. These were the underlying reason for the antithesis of the city. In Emerald city, education was
available to them, which could be an opportunity for each person to become prince or princesses.
The legendary places are called National Royal Congress and The Newborn League, this is the stage
where they become part of the royal family. Lorme was worried of newborn children in the royal
family; therefore, he acted with hatred and violence. He slashed them bit by bit as they haunt him 'til
the end of time. A beautiful ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, her opponent, La Pénible, massacred countless lives, which they soon made a treaty later
on to grant Emerald City independence...
Hidden in the crevices of the passage, a witch snuck in the forest of Death, which caused a
corruption in the world. The witch likes to be called, "The Communist of the East," she appeared to
become vicious and cruel, the greed in her, ferociously made her become fearless. In the end, the
witch protected the Honey Blossom trade because of the vast majority desiring the addicted
substance. The Cheetah by her side attracted people to the message of the witch's ideology. Their
mortal enemy, Snake eyes, are people who accuse the witch of attacking their territory. Snake eyes
took all of Milem territory, which restored the witches sovereignty. There was a magic building
standing across the horizon in which lies the suffrage of The Delta Seaplex. There was a burst of fire
from the evil fairy mother, "Who had caused this will suffer!!," after finding out the collapse of the
Treasure Island. Money, gold, silver, and diamonds were gone, which was outrageous towards her,
which caused famine to each household. The fairy queen ordered all citizens of the Delta Seaplex to

Fairytales Double Standards
Throughout time, double standards have always been present in every type of situation and every
type of literature; they are even present in children's fairytales. Though fairytales were intended for
adults, they were soon transformed to entertain children; and double standards of men and women
are still present in today's variations of the tales despite the changes made to them. There are many
types of double standards presented in a variety of ways. One of those standards is who can and who
cannot marry royalty despite the fact that they are not royalty themselves. This double standard can
be seen in such tales as "Cinderella", "Diamonds and Toads", "Jack the Giant Killer", and "Tom
Thumb". The double standard of who can and who cannot marry royalty despite the fact that they ...

In many tales, women can marry royalty if they are not royalty themselves, as long as they are
worthy, beautiful, and have not committed any kind of social transgression of that particular time
period. In older time periods, especially that of the medieval time period, royalty only married
royalty and on very rare occasions they would marry nobles. The requirement was money and title.
A prince would only marry a princess or queen and a princess would only marry a prince or king. It
was not socially acceptable for royalty to marry those that were not royalty. In the instances of
"Cinderella" and "Diamonds and Toads", this is not necessarily the case; princes did marry women
of lower social status based on their beauty, self worth, and the fact

I Believe In Fairytales Analysis
I want to believe in fairytales. In magic and make believe. In heroes and happy endings and all
things impossible.
I want to. And once in a rare, whimsical while I succeed. For a brief, passing moment I will believe
that carousels can come to life, and unicorns with wings will carry me to the other side of the sun.
That miracles will happen, and all dreams can come true.
It is a lovely daydream that I always wish could remain just a little while longer. A beautiful
daydream too fragile to withstand even the gentlest sigh.
Do you know what I love? Of course you don't. I love the incongruent. I love men's clothes on

the cavernous, cool, silent vacuum of a beautiful, small, wonderfully ornate church on the upper east

Instantly I am certain I have gone deaf. It is the one place I have been where the silence is so loud
you can hear it. The complete and total lack of sound. The silence is so strong, so dominating I

I feel I have gone back in time. The stone walls and rising wooden beams reach impossibly far into

I am afraid to take a step for fear the sound of my boot on the floor will shatter the very air.

Greed In The Hobbit : The Consequences Of Fairytales
As a child, my favorite story growing up was not the typical fairytales of most kids youth. My older
brother would often tell me his favorite stories from the X–Men. The kind, wise, and caring
Professor X, constantly at odds with the cruel and cunning Magneto were the backdrop to many of
the stories I was told at that time. Only as I grew older did I realize how much of deeper meaning
those tales had within them, and the lessons it held. The conflict between mutants and humans
mirror that of the civil rights movement. With Professor X and Magneto as stand–ins for Martin
Luther King Jr and Malcolm X respectively. Realizing this I began to look closer to the stories
around me. Looking at the stories that we have read so far, we see a consistent moral shared
between the books. That is greed, and how it leads to the ultimate destruction of the character who
exhibit it. Greed is the downfall for Smaug from The Hobbit, Martin from The Hell–Bound Train
and Donny from Jeffty is Five. In The Hobbit, it is easy to see how greed is a vice for the characters.
The main and clearest example is Smaug the dragon. From the beginning of the story, we are told of
the greedy nature of the dragons, how they would burn and sack villages for the treasure they hold.
Smaug's biggest example of greed is when he takes the treasure from the dwarven city, Dale. Thus
sparking the quest to reclaim and slay the dragon. This quest leads to Smaug's ultimate demise. It
can also be seen in the writing style

The Evil in Fairytales
The Evil in Fairytales These stories are suffused with the same purity that makes children appear so
marvelous and blessed. Wilhelm Grimm, preface to Nursery and Household Tales Many adults are
hardly prepared for the graphic descriptions of murder, mutilation, cannibalism, infanticide, and
incest that fill the pages of these bedtime stories for children. Maria M. Tatar, The Hard Facts about
the Grimm's Fairy Tales Introduction Children all over the world listen to fairytales every night at
bedtime and hear colorful stories about evil witches, goblins, hobgoblins and other terrible creatures
of the night. Indeed, the some of the most famous fairytales by the Brothers Grimm are filled with
evil creatures that are out to do humankind harm. Moreover, many of the stories in fairytales do not
contain the watered–down version of evil that is depicted by many Disney–type productions in
modern media but rather describe the real thing where people can suffer and even die as a result of
their contact with the evil creatures in fairytales. Some authorities even argue that fairytales can be
disturbing for young readers, but most seem to agree that the good–triumphs–over–evil themes in
fairytales make them timeless and appropriate for everyone. To gain some fresh insights in this area,
this paper provides a review of the relevant peer–reviewed and scholarly literature concerning the
evil in fairytales, including examples, followed by a summary of the research and important

Gothic Fiction And Traditional Fairytales
Gothic fiction is a product of human curiosity, fascination and fear. This genre of literature
represents human fears in a more symbolic and allegorical way, allowing readers to address their
phobias in a safe frame. Gothic fiction is mistakenly associated with adult fiction due to the
common belief that the gruesome events described in this mode of literature are inappropriate for
children. Nevertheless, kids are the ones who have the biggest questions and fears. Gothic fiction,
with its grotesque creatures and spooky places, turns kid fears into fictional characters that are
defeated by the forces of good. This essay examines the connection between Gothic fiction and
traditional fairytales, while it discusses how Gothic stories help children ... Show more content on

Of course, these elements do not appear as sinister as in adult Gothic fiction, but the basis is the
same. A proof for their presence is Karen Coats' observation. As Coats puts it, traditional Gothic
stories for adults provide fairytale themes and motifs with an evil tone (78). If there were not any
similarities between these two genres of literature, traditional adult Gothic would not use fairytales
as a basis. Furthermore, considering that Charles Perrault's "Little Red Riding Hood" is a splendid
example of traditional fairytales, it is worth observing if Gothic elements can be traced in it. "Little
Red Riding Hood" includes characteristics that resemble Gothic fiction's characteristics as presented
by David Punter; "an emphasis on portraying the terrifying, a common insistence on archaic
settings, a prominent use of the supernatural..." (cited in Roberts 21). Firstly, the setting is terrifying;
a young girl alone in the woods. Secondly, the use of supernatural is profound; the wolf can speak
and think like humans. According to Coats, this kind of elements in classic fairytales, like creepy
settings, forbidden wishes and evil villains, are associated with children's "dangerous impulses" and
"aggressions" (78). The role of fairytales is to deal with these unwanted urges

Aladdin a Disney Fairytale
A long, long time ago, in the year of 1992, a very famous Disney Fairytale hit the big screen.
Aladdin is about a young orphan on a fascinating journey to becoming a heroic man. The majority
of people are unaware of the qualifications of a real hero. Many people think the only way to
achieve heroism is by dying for something or someone you love. There are heroes everywhere you
look, Disney movies, fairytales, cartoons, books etc. A hero doesn't have to possess unusual
superpowers like, immortality, time traveling, invisibility, mind control or superhuman strength. In
fact, some super heroes possess nothing more than, love, generosity, kindness, cheer and trust.
Sometimes all you need to be a hero is abandonment at birth, a friend and a will to survive. This is
exactly why I chose the Disney character of Aladdin. This charming story, made famous by Disney
takes place in the Middle East. The trials and tribulations of Aladdin include moments of love,
adventure, trickery, and deceit. Aladdin embarks in this journey unintentionally but proves to have
endured a comprehensive maturation of character while achieving valuable insight about who is
truly is and what he stands for by the time he completes his adventure. When following the journey
of a hero you will usually find something on the lines of an unusual birth, or something unique
about the hero's childhood. Aladdin was born to his father, Cassim and his mother, who is unnamed
in the film. Cassim left Aladdin and his mother

Fairytales : ' Fairytales '
Fairytales! These stories have such an impact on everyone, especially children. Each and everyone
has grown up to reading or hearing fairy tales. Fairytales at first were written as adults entertainment
and then slowly writers started rewriting the tales in which children learn basic life lessons while
still being entertaining. Because of these fairy tales, most of us know the difference between good
and bad. However, it can have different impact depending on how the child reads/hears it. For
example, they can grow up to do the right things in life or the negative aspects of it. The way in
which the author decides to display his/her purpose of their story can lead to readers, in this case, the
children to think of morals that they come to believe in thorough the tale. It 's important to establish
a moral understanding in children; who they will become as they grow up, what motivates them can
all come from what they believe is right or wrong. That is why fairytales plays an important role,
also not only that but parents/adults as well. The authors of some Little Red Riding Hood 's versions
has scenarios where Little Red is eaten which is almost expected out of a frightened girl against a
menacing wolf. However, when there is the scenario where Little Red triumphs over the wolf, it is
done so in a gruesome way–almost to say that killing someone is alright because they have
committed the same crime. In certain Little Red Riding Hood tales, Little Red 's character is

not even aware of her existence, but Ella had been observing my interviews, and she agreed
immediately to answer a few questions about how she got started as a writer and the "fairytale" story
of her first book becoming an instant Hallmark classic. (Yes, that is my opinion, but the feedback
from this film is that this was the funniest of the "Countdown to Christmas" movies so far in 2016.

Sexism In Disney Fairytales
Introduction Disney fairytales have been a popular cartoon brand that is loved by children and
young adults for many decades. However, these fairytales usually have a constant theme where
princesses most of the time are shown to be the main characters or the center of the story. Disney
cartoons have the ability to inject ideologies into the brains of children due to their animation–based
and fantasy story–lined films. Disney fairytales and children folktales encountered most of the time
provides their audience who are mostly children with restraining images of what a female role is

Even though through adult eyes these cartoons might be viewed as a mere naïve entertainment
methods, they don't know that these cartoons are trying to feed children how men and women in
societies should act. According to Pollit (1991), "Do kids pick up on the sexism in children's
culture? You bet. Preschoolers are like medieval philosophers: the text –– a book, a movie, a TV
show –– is more authoritative than the evidence of their own eyes." (para.7). These cartoons subtly
communicate with children in their own language, by trying to bring a fantasy to reality and that is
why these depictions seem to be engraved in their memories. Do Rozario (2004) also said, "By 1959
and the release of Sleeping Beauty, the three good fairies give up their magic wands for housework
in order to protect and conceal Princess Aurora from the evil fairy, Malificent (who has failed to
consider that these three might give up the convenience of magic to live in a peasant cottage)."
(para. 11). In the Sleeping Beauty, all that children see is how a lady from a high social class status
gets her life saved by choosing to work as a house keeper for three fairies. It is rather confusing to
understand the logic of the storyline but for children, logic isn't what they are searching for in an

Marriage: Not Always a Fairytale
"I take you, to be my lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better

unfailing commitment. Although this unconditional love is beautiful, it was not always a reality.
This fact became evident within literature of the late eighteen hundreds. "The Storm" written by

Anton Chekhov, are all prominent short stories that portrayed dissatisfied women involved in

In this short story, Calixta never mentioned any dissatisfaction in her marriage. Calixta appeared to
be pleased with her husband Bobinot, and her son Bibi. She was not searching for passion, but due
to a fateful encounter, passion found her. When Alcee appeared at her door, his presence ignited all
the infatuation she once felt for him. Before long, the two were in each other's arms, and eventually
in bed. Their fervent affair paralleled the rise, and eventual passing of the violent storm. "The
generous abundance of her passion, without guile or trickery, was like a white flame which
penetrated and found response in depths of his own sensuous nature that had never been reached"
(Chopin 98). The steamy romance Alcee provided was one Calixta never knew she wanted. Unlike
the women in "The Lady with a Pet Dog", and "An Adventure in Paris," Calixta stumbled into an

The women in "The Storm", "Adventure in Paris", and "The Lady with the Dog" were similar due to

Coming Of Age Of Girls In Fairytales
When Little Red Cap becomes Mrs. Red Cap: the coming of age of girls in fairytales From a young
age, girls around the world are told that their transition into womanhood will mark an important
chapter in their lives. It guides a young girl from innocence to experience and is characterized
through her attainment of self–responsibility and her newly found maturity. This milestone in a girl's
life is often explored through different adaptations during different time periods of our history; for
example, we often see the subject being explored in fairytales. In Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm's

For one, when she listens to her mother, she no longer strays from the path and is able to get to her
grandmother's safely, consequently contrasting her initial behavior and marking a girl's maturity for
listening to her mother. In "Little Red Cap", the mother had warned her daughter before leaving to
her grandmother's to not distract herself from staying on the path: "Get an early start, before it
becomes hot, and when you're out in the woods, be nice and good and don't stray from the path,
otherwise you'll fall and break the glass, and your grandmother will get nothing" (101–102). Little
Red Cap would have accomplished her mother's advice if she wasn't still a child in the beginning of
the story: "So she ran off the path and plunged into the woods to look for flowers. And each time she
plucked one, she thought she saw another even prettier flower and ran after it, going deeper and
deeper into the forest. But the wolf went straight to the grandmother's house and knocked at the
door" (103). The little girl being easily distracted by the beauty of flowers and not connecting the
dots of the wolf going after her grandmother demonstrates her incapability of being an intelligent
and grown woman, a telltale of her still being an immature child. However, this changes near the

Zipes's View on Fairytales
In this essay, I examine what Zipes means by institutionalised, define what makes a fairy tale and
evaluate how different versions of Little Red Riding Hood reflect the social ideology of the period.
Zipes is not using 'institutionalised' in the traditional, negative sense of being rigid and never
evolving. He theorises that fairy tales have become part of the social psyche. They permeate into
every aspect of the social unconscious to become meme, examples of which are 'tunes, ideas and
catchphrases' (Montgomery, 2009, p. 46). Zipes proposes that this meme is similar to a virus

The loss of virtue was equal to death both socially and spiritually. Reflecting the puritan view that
children were inherently sinful and should spend time praying not playing (Furniss, 2010). There are
symbolic references throughout the story to sin. The red hood symbolising loss of virginity,
menstruation and worn by the immoral. The girl wanders off and enjoys chasing butterflies hence
playing. Her silent acquiesce to the wolf's bet. The wolf used as a metaphor for a sexually predatory
man and the idea of loss of virginity coupled with 'le petite mort'. Along with the satirical style
suggests an adult audience although read by children (Grenby, 2009). In Grimm's version, a
huntsman rescues the consumed girl and her grandmother. They fill the wolf's stomach with stones

to go straight to grandmothers and together they trick and kill the wolf. There are still traces of a
sexual nature in the story but the emphasis has moved to learning obedience and that lessons learnt
have their rewards. The tale deals with ideas of childhood and social obligation, namely familial
relationships, innocence of the child promoted by the romantic view of children as spiritual beings
closer to God and the need for the instruction of children. There are strong familial relationships in

childhood lives. Writers began to prove that continuing these stories not only reverts a person back
to their childhood, but it carries out different values meant to gain through them. I personally agree
that fairytales are told to gain life lessons. Although various people have come up with theories, but
no one really knows why we continue these stories. Jonathan Young wrote an essay for Inside
Journal magazine called "Once Upon a Time, How Fairytales Shape Our Lives." In his essay he
began to explain why he believed that we continue to tell these stories or fairytales. One of the
reasons he says is that fairytales take us back to a place of innocence as a kid. I think that when we
do tell fairytales that it does allow us to go back to the time where a little bit of nothing meant a
whole lot of something to us. As a kid I would often experience this type of effect when I was told a
fairytale. The meaning behind saying that a little bit of nothing meant a whole lot of something to us
simply says that we valued the content rather than the meaning of the tale. As we grew older we
generally like to be reverted back to this time when genuine happiness came from just about
anything that could be imagined. The imagination throughout an individual differs from one person
to the next

The Themes Of Physical Beauty In Fairytales
Fairytales, arguably some of the most historical forms of literature, have remained popular
throughout the decades. Tales such as "Little Red Riding Hood," "Beauty and the Beast," "The Frog
King" and "The Swan Maiden," were originally written between the mid–eighteenth century and
mid–nineteenth century. Whether it is the fanciful love–story or the magical transformation which
attracts and has kept attention throughout the decades, fairytales, specifically those in which either
the protagonist or antagonist undergoes a physical change, teach an important lesson to readers. In
this day and age, the media has put so much pressure on particularly young women to look a certain
way; what seems to be missing is the idea that physical beauty does not necessarily parallel inner
beauty. The theme of transformation in many fairytales serves to portray certain truths about ...

Nick is both burdened and blessed by his ability to see the fleeting transformations of other Wesen
(supernatural creatures which disguise themselves using human facades). Although transformations
in fairytales often parallel a character's inner goodness or lack thereof, the lesson which Grimm
teaches is synonymous with the the cliché that looks can be deceiving. The theme of inner versus
outer beauty is still present in Grimm, but in the capacity that modern society has perverted it.
Today's culture is one dominated by the media. People, especially young, impressionable females,
are bombarded with images of "beautiful" and "desirable" women; these "sexy" women are lacking
modest clothing, wearing copious amounts of make up, and are content to be viewed as objects,
particularly by members of the opposite gender. In a society where the vision of true beauty has
been distorted to such an extreme, fairytales serve as a reminder of the value of a beautiful

Fairytales : Fairytale, Legend, And Fairytales
Stories in the form of folktale, fairytale, legend, and myths draw in the audience by intriguing their
creativity and opening the realm of imagination. They do so by using abstract settings, storylines,
and characters where there reader is forced to think outside the box of ordinary life and discover a
world they may have never knew existed. Many times these fairytales use the gateway of magic to
make these ideas more fathomable to the reader and create the illusion that it is all make believe.
Magic is something that has been used throughout history in folktales, legends, and fairytales

The Frog Princess shows this action with this specific quote: The others had heated the ovens as
usual. One loaf was burned black. The other was quite uncooked. The Tsar took the three loaves,
and tasted each one. Of the first, he said, "A starving man might try to eat it." Of the second, he said,
"Even rats wouldn't touch this gluey mess." Of the third, he said, "How light it is, and golden! I must
give a dinner party, and share it with my guests" (13).
This defies all expectations of a frog being inferior to humans, but in fact this story teaches us to not
have preconceived notions. Thirdly, there is a marriage between a human and animal which is
abstract from our usual idea of marriage. The Frog Princess features a dating relationship between a
human and a frog which is different than what a reader would think is normal. They read this with
the hopes of the frog someday turning into a human princess they can relate to more. Lastly, the
book ends with this motif of a happily ever after and that desire for the frog to turn into a human
princess becomes a reality. They end the story with the princess and prince being happy for the rest
of their lives. There is also an element of wealth in the ending because they reside in a palace and
this shows us they do not have to worry about money being a problem. The Frog Princess

Bel Canto : An Unrealistic Fairytale
Bel Canto: An Unrealistic Fairytale
Bel Canto is a drama induced romance novel written by Ann Patchett. The main character of the
story is Roxanne Coss, an opera singer who, along with a plethora of other unique characters, finds
herself suddenly taken hostage while performing at a private birthday party in an unnamed South
American country. The specific location, we are told, is the vice–presidential palace, complete with
all the luxuries and exclusivities that political dignitaries and wealthy business folk are routinely
accustomed too. Roxanne's fellow hostages include a wide variety of interesting personalities and
characters, notwithstanding, several of them have equally important and even more vital roles

Further, basic common sense tells us that it would be wise of the hostages to humanize themselves
in the eyes of their captors. Then, find ways to make those relationships quickly work toward the
ultimate objective of their impending freedom. Likewise, build bridges with those who hold your
life in their hands, and then use those bridges to escape your dire dilemma. But all too frequently
those opportunities are grossly missed or simply not acted upon. Simply put, I find it irritatingly
strange, that these hostages of such grand importance and renown influence, are ultimately to foolish
to even attempt to manipulate the susceptible, poor, impressionable children that hold them against
their will, despite their predicament potentially being a matter of life and death. Certainly,
something more could have been done, and in real life, would have been done. It feels like the story
is prolonged, for no other reason than to simply keep it going. To fill pages. For example, on page
107 we read "At night there were sentries, but by twelve o'clock they had always fallen asleep. They
did not wake when their weapons slipped from their fingers and clattered on the floor." (1). Isn't this
a prime opportunity for the hostages to free themselves? Shouldn't the story end there? At midnight?
Did no hostage think to pick up these weapons and end this standoff?

Wizard of Oz as a Fairytale Essay
Wizard of Oz as a Fairytale
This question is deceptive in its apparent simplicity as it raises some problematic issues, which
extend beyond the text right across fairytale scholarship.
The term "fairytale" itself is a contentious one and is unpopular with many folklorists (see Luthi,
Warner, Luke). Often epithets like "wondertale", "magic tale" are employed. Even in some English
translations of European works the more semantically accurate Russian or German terms
(volshebnye skazka and [zauber]Marchen) are used.
Often authorities expound at length upon is the difference between myth and folktale and then
folktale and fairytale. Space will not allow us to open that can of worms her. For our ... Show more

This distance is necessitated by Oz's irreconcilable differences from what Baum himself calls "the
old–time fairy tale" exemplified by the "fantastic stories of Grimm" (Baum, 1).
So , with fairytale consistency, we shall begin at the beginning:
On the very first page of Oz Baum actually states that his wish was to create a modern American
fairy tale similar to "the old time" collections of the Grimm brothers.
This artistic intention instantly problematises the text in the context of its generic status. It begs the
question of whether a story can be a true fairytale if it is so informed by its natural predecessors
which sprang almost spontaneously from ancient and anonymous sources. Baum writes with a
scholarly knowledge of fairytales behind him. In fact he wrote a 1902 essay "On the Fairytale."
Fairytales have a vaguely documented chronology that potentially stretches back to thousands of
years BC. They are sourced from myth, legend, the collective unconscious, rumour, tradition or
"abstractions from real events" (Propp, xvii). It could be argued that Oz has the same ultimate roots
but its lineage is traceable due to its age and the relative youth of the socio–political cultural
environment that spawned it. In "wonder tales" the author is not a considered presence; they are
cumulative creations that arose out of

Marriage Is Not Like A Fairytale
"To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness
and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part, according to God 's holy ordinance; and
thereto I pledge thee my faith to you." These are what we usually hear in weddings when couples
make commitments. However, these vows made are easier said than done. Marriage is not like a
fairytale, which always has a happy ending. In fact, many couples have ended up divorced. Some
people who get divorced may say that it's the best to live their life separately from their former
partner. But their children, unfortunately, become the victims of this decision. As children of
divorced parents grow, they will develop negative emotions and behaviors. Often these children will
perform poorly in school, have bad attitudes, and suffer from poor health. The best way to help these
children overcome the effect of their parents' divorce is through the state and school.
An article published in New York Times in 1920 defined divorce as the "legal separation of a
husband and a wife that is made effective by the judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction,
where the marriage is dissolved. Divorce is distinct from marital separation in that separation of two
spouses is not necessarily permanent" ("Divorces Increase"). Nobody goes into a marriage with the
end goal being a divorce. There are many people who have tried various ways to reduce the divorce
rate; however, these solutions are

Stereotypes In Disney Fairytale Movies
Beauty If you did not grow up watching Disney fairytale movies, what did you watch for the first
decade of your life? Movies like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and The Little Mermaid have captured
the attention of young children since the mid–twentieth century. A child's opinion on gender roles
and behaviors has been strengthened by Disney movies. Most young girls believe their lives will be
incomplete without a man to protect them from all evils. Women have always felt inferior to men
due to society's interpretation of them in major motion pictures and advertisements. Society has
started to realize its mistake on judging women and their ability to be independent by giving women
more inspiring and uplifting roles in movies. A movie which does not focus as much on the typical
stereotype of women would be the 1991 Disney fairytale classic known as Beauty and the Beast.
This romantic fairytale does not identify women as powerless, but instead starts a positive trend of
independence and intelligence. Beauty and the Beast wants viewers to realize the importance of
inner beauty rather than external beauty, but still emphasizes gender inequality through the script
and various songs. As any other Disney fairytale animation, the main character is a young and
beautiful woman. Belle's name literally means beauty. Disney reinforces the ideal form of beauty
through Belle's tiny figure, blue eyes and brown hair. Her soft voice is accompanied by the ability to
sing beautifully. Women are

recount a version separate from the animated classics of our childhood? It is truly hard to believe
that sometimes there are much more racy versions of these same tales.

It was the middle of winter, and the silence of the woods seemed to close down upon our heroine
like a pair of jaws. Suddenly she heard a distant howl of a wolf, and she sprang to the handle of a
well–concealed knife, but nobody was there. Suddenly, a clamor among the bushed produced a fully
clothed and very handsome young man holding a very large rifle. They walked along the worn path
for some time together laughing like old friends. It was only a mere half–mile to go till the warmth
and safety of her grandmother's house when the dashing young stranger proposed a bet. He insisted
that with the help of a compass, he would surely make it to the grandmother's house before she
would on the path. A game was made of it, and if he won, he was to have a kiss. At the mention of
the kiss, Little Red lowered her eyes and blushed, commonplace of rustic seduction. Although it was
getting dark, she wanted to dawdle on her way so that the handsome gentleman would win his
wager. She forgot to be afraid of the beasts.
TR*: It was this wager that was to signal the end of innocence for our young heroine.
The handsome young man arrived at grandmother's house first with a trace of blood on his chin. He
knocked on the door with his hairy knuckles and announced himself in high soprano as her
granddaughter. After entering he removed his disguise, and granny could see his matted hair

The Importance Of Fairytales
Fairytales are the reality to children. As children imagine different scenarios and play them out, they
are learning how to cope with the real world. This is a powerful tool for allowing children to
understand complex situations that they have not encountered in their own lives. In My
Grandmother Asked Me To to Tell You She's Sorry, Backman uses fairy tales for Elsa to understand
the people in her building that Granny had saved. These stories, Elsa soon learns, have a greater
significance and interconnectedness than she had imagined. One of the first stories that Elsa
remembers Granny telling her is the story of the girl who said no. The story begins with a fair
princess who grew into a Queen, afraid of conflict. She began to ban ... Show more content on

She wants Elsa to be outspoken and empowered as she was. This is important to Granny because she
does not want Elsa to be as cautious as Ulrika ended up being. Another key story in Backman's
novel is the story of the sea angel. This story starts with the snow angels of the Land–of–Almost–
Awake as they are fighting against the waves in the War–Without–End. Snow angels were known to
be able to open their wings and use the power of the stories in their hearts to stop the waves that
would come to destroy the kingdom. Once the war ended, the last snow angel was cursed and unable
to leave the coast. It was soon called the "sea–angel." It became increasingly sad as the years went
on until its heart split into two and then its whole body split into two. Now the creature was so
deformed it became known as a monster that children feared. It sings its song of sorrow for all to
hear as it lives out its life of misery. The deeper origin to this story that Elsa is initially unaware of,
but soon comes to realize is the story of the woman in the black skirt. The woman is known to Elsa
as the drunk who sings on the stairs in the building. The woman lost her husband and sons in a
tsunami. Granny rescued her and brought her to the building in hopes that she would recover from
the horrific event, but she would not talk about it. The woman told Elsa, "It's difficult for me to talk

Aladdin Is A Fairytale Of A Scrappy Thief
Aladdin is a fairytale of a scrappy thief who gets into harmless hijinks with his best friend and
monkey Abu in the fictional city of Agrabrah. The whole point of Aladdin's narrative is that he,
unlike everyone else in Agrabrah, has great potential. Aladdin is worthy enough to enter a cave so
magical it is named the Cave of Wonders. Aladdin, as the audience is told, is better than the local
merchants selling food tin order to support their families. He is better than the guards, who were
hired by the palace to try their best to get the streets of Agrabrah safe. Aladdin per this movie is the
best person in town. This view of Aladdin is false, while Aladdin is said to have great potential, in
the movie Aladdin is not seen doing anything that makes him deserving of this title. And it is
painfully clear by the end on the story that no one in Aladdin cares about helping the people of
Agrabrah.
Based on the indirection to Agrabrah in the movie, Agrabrah is a large trade town. There is access to
jewels and wonders, yet the common person lives in poverty. The merchants in the market place are
very entuned to theft. And it appears that the sole purpose of the Palace guards is to pursue these
thieves. This suggests that theft is a huge problem in Agrabrah, which also suggests that poverty is
prevalent in the town. In Aladdin's character defining introductory song, he tells us that he is good at
stealing. "They're quick, but I'm much faster...(Aladdin)" One loaf of bread costs a fish

Stereotypical Fairytale And Relative Peace
When a child does something wrong, an older, wiser adult is always there to scold them for the
wrongdoing. Inevitably, they are then forced to accept the punishment and guilt that it bears.
However, when they transform into an adult, they are the old, wise adult, and no one is there to
scold them. It must be found within themselves to discern the sin committed and hold the guilt
within their own hearts, but then also forgive themselves for it, of which it is much easier to do as a
child. If unforgiven, the guilt manifests itself within their being, slowly monopolizing on their lives
until they become a mere shell of their prior beings, scarcely able to survive daily life with the

Barely under this facade of composure and innocence, unbeknownst to him, was his rapidly

had also failed to admit this fault to those who held his holiness above all else. In this way, he felt he
had betrayed the townspeople, of whom he knew their countless sins, and the only "person" who
could ever truly forgive him: God. As a result of these unforgivable crimes, Dimmesdale subjected
himself to a torture brought about by his own inability to forgive himself for the crimes committed.
Only a short while into his self–flagellation, the decaying of his physical well being became
apparent to any and all onlookers, as the text states, "he was often observed, on any slight alarm or
other sudden accident, to put his hand over his heart, with first a flush and then a paleness,
indicative of pain," (Hawthorne 108). This quotation exemplifies the obvious change in
Dimmesdale's demeanor, while also creating a connection between mind and body. With such a guilt
fueling his need to gain redemption, he turned to pain as a way to "relieve" the unshakeable ailment
he invariably felt. However, this did not achieve anything as his mental state further deteriorated and
his physical conditions followed suit, to the point that he was scarcely able to bear his own weight

Symbolism in Fairytales Essay
Symbolism in Fairytales Fairytales are as ancient as communal living. However, the symbolism of
fairytales is very controversial. In the case of Cinderella, I believe that it symbolizes the role of
women in society and the characteristics that women should have. In Bruno Bettelheim's article
"'Cinderella:' A Story of Sibling Rivalry and Oedipal Conflicts," he depicts the fairytale as a case of
sibling rivalry. Feminist Madonna Kolbenschlag, says in her article "A Feminist View of
`Cinderella,'" that the fairytale represents women's role in society. Karol Kelley's article "A Modern
Cinderella," also claims that the fairytale describes the women's role in society and their
characteristics. The topics discussed by the authors are the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Is slipper is a symbol of "sexual bondage and imprisonment in a stereotype" (Kolbenschlag 527).
Secondly, the meaning of Cinderella's work I think, is demeaning to her, and again it represents the
traditional role of women to take care of the housework. Cinderella stays at home doing the
housework is a traditional feminine role, but is dirty, physically demanding, and demeaning (Kelley
89). Bettelheim believes that the work is symbolic to children and the reasons they do work. As long
as you work hard you will be rewarded (570). This is an interesting point, but I think the dirty and
physically demanding housework may also show a distinction in social class. The Prince, being a
man, obviously doesn't clean floors or cook. He holds the highest level in society at that time. Third
is the significance of the ashes. I believe that Cinderella's home among the ashes is a direct
correlation with the virtues that the hearth symbolizes. Kolbenschlag describes the hearth as a place
of purity, innocence, nurturance, docility, and empathy (525). These virtues coincide with the virtues
of Cinderella, a model for women. Bettelheim sees the ashes as another symbol of degradation and
sibling rivalry. Living in ashes is more debasement (568–9). In my opinion, this also is true. Living
in ashes is dirty and demeaning; however, when analyzing a fairytale, symbolism is of the utmost
importance. Therefore, one can conclude that Cinderella posses the same

The Fairytale Of Cinderella By James Poniewozik
Each and every child grows up viewing Disney movies, wearing princess gowns, and buzz lightyear
suits. The parents of these children are the individuals purchasing these Disney costumes, toys,
candy, and other related items for their children. Our society today accepts Disney and their culture
of entertainment as a part of a child's childhood experience without second thought. Elements of the
fairytale of Cinderella has adapted over time to please the culture in which it is told; yet in today's
culture, adaptation to these elements is taken to where it has never been. In "The Princess Paradox,"
James Poniewozik says, "You can have the girly dream of glass slippers and true love, these films
say, as well as the womanly ideal of self–determination and independence and any contradictions
between them are no match for the movies' magic" (Poniewozik 324). Peggy Orenstein compliments
Poniewozik's article because she states, "The first Princess items, released with no marketing plan,
no focus groups, no advertising, sold as if blessed by a fairy godmother" (Orenstein 327).
Poniewozik is trying to argue that films have altered the story of Cinderella in the 21st century
cinema realm due to the addition of the concept of feminism, women 's separation from men, and
the traditional magic implemented within them. Orenstein marries these articles together indirectly
by pointing out that Disney legitimately had no marketing plan, yet they continue to rake in money.

now realize that a lot of similarities can be identified. The issue of magic realism plays in heavily,
adding in a few fictional aspects here and there to the book. Above all though, and using the
fairytale of Cinderella as my base throughout this essay, it's easy to make connections from fairytale
characters to the characters portrayed in Into the Beautiful North. The reasons above lead me to state

Fairytales In Cinderella And Cinderella
Fairytales are expressed as writing; which ultimately reveals a morale toward the audience. These
stories typically display the hero as a male who potentially saves the heroine. Throughout time,
these stories develop themes and ideas that allow readers to discover its true purpose. These versions
let the audience envision the story in a new perspective. From the development of time, readers
notice the shift of heroism from male characters toward female characters. Through an analysis of
literary terms and elements in the original version of "The Little Glass Slipper," and "Cinderella",
their themes were modified due to the changes in time, plot and societal norms. My agreement in the
newer purpose of modified stories can be represented through the fairytale "Cinderella".The
fairytale originated from the story entitled, "The Little Glass Slipper," which was written by Charles
Perrault. This original tale was reformed through the Brother's Grimm version otherwise known as
"Cinderella". When anaylizing both works, the reader notices that each story has its own morale,
ending and plot. Each fairytale, results in a newer ending from the shift in time. In the original tale,
the story concludes with kindness overruling beauty, however, in the second version the step sisters

weight of the water it displaces. If the object had a greater density than the water it would sink. They

certain points, to metaphorically represent the situations the couple, which turned out to be Flowers'

When he writes "Saw Cinderella in a party dress" and "I threw my money and I ran away" (Flowers

dark at this point, the listener is able to understand that the reason he "threw his money away" is
because, the ending of the fairytale wasn't perfect. In most fairy tales, there is a point where all hope
seems lost, like when Cinderella lost her shoe and the prince couldn't find her. Then, it all comes

What Are The Siblings Role In Fairytales

  • 1. What Are The Siblings Role In Fairytales The connections that people have with their siblings is a complicated one. Some see their counterparts as close friends that they can count on, but some lack the 'family' vibe that people would expect from relatives. In fairytales, siblings play many roles to progress the stories in ways that make them interesting, exciting, and surprising. How do authors incorporate the siblings into their stories? Are the siblings roles as important as the main character? If the siblings were not in the story would the outcome be different? Do the roles of the siblings represent something other than just a family member? This paper will examine the role that siblings play in fairytales. In the story of Beauty and the Beast the elder sisters waste no time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These two daughters however were different than Cinderella. They thought the stepdaughter should have to work for her place in the family, ironically from the same situation that Cinderella was in. One day the father left for the fair one day. Cinderella wanted the branch that first brushed her father's head on his journey. The other two daughters after hearing what Cinderella asked for were very greedy asking for much more than just a branch off a tree. This expands on the point that beauty is not always a material aspect of a person. Soon after the king announced for all the girls of the kingdom to come so his son could pick a bride. The step sisters were excited and were anxious to win the princes heart. The Stepsisters commanded that their second class sibling pretty them up to meet the prince. In this story the main character is taken advantage of because of her position in the family. The stepsisters are expressing nothing but greed in their wishes for Cinderella to pamper them. This lesson is obvious, but is there a deeper meaning to the story? Perhaps the author wants to teach all of us that although you may not be the one receiving credit for something. You will still be rewarded for your efforts to achieving the goal. This relates to common day situations where in businesses and governments the person who gives the speech is almost never the person who writes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Outline Of A Fairytale 1.) It is a fairytale, and fiction. 2.) The exposition is when the king lets all of the land he rules that if anyone could find out where his 12 daughters dance all night, he could choose one to marry. Whoever failed after three nights, would be sentenced to death. "Then the king made it known to all the land, that if any person could discover the secret, and find out where it was that the princesses danced in the night, he should have the one he liked best for his wife, and should be king after his death; but whoever tried and did not succeed, after three days and nights, should be put to death." 3.) The rising action is when all of the failed attempts were happening, and when the soldier came across the old lady. The climax is when he went into the trap door to follow the princesses, and followed them all night until they came back. The falling action is when he woke up the next morning, to tell the king where they dance. The twelve daughters were listening behind a door. The denouement is when the old soldier chooses to have the eldest daughter to be his wife. The characters all have their daily lives back, the soldier and eldest daughter were the only ones with different lives. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not traditional ones because there is no real "villains" in the story, but the antagonists are the princesses. 5.) The most important traits of the main character (soldier), is that he is slick. He did a very good job not getting caught, by sneaking on rowing boats without being sensed, and by sneaking back to his sleeping spot without being seen. If he was not as slick as he was, the ending would not have turned out the way it did, and he might be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Grimm's Fairytales Introduction: Grimm Fairy Tales is a popular genre to children and society. The stories and remakes of the fairy tales are the basis of the original. Grimm Fairy tales include Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Ariel, Rapunzel and many others. The story usually includes a curse, a fairy or magic, a prince saving the princess and a moral. Fairy tales have a huge impact on pop culture and how children and young adults perceive reality and love. For English class, we are presenting a research paper based on fairy tales, folktales, or fables. Over the course of six months in English class we have been studying stories, and have looked at the Canterbury Tales, etc. These stories are passed down from generation to generation and give us ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During world war two, people thought the fairytale encouraged genocide because of the intense death in some of Grimm Brothers stories. Bettelheim took a psychological approach in his book "The Uses of Enchantment" and believed that "fairytales arose from children's subconscious as he sought to demonstrate fairy tales accurately projected children's psychological needs and neatly describe their psychosexual desires." (Buttigheimer, Par 17) In contrast, most theorist believed that fairy tales create a social norm and motifs for children. In modern day, fairytales have more egocentric values. The stories I chose to research were Little Red Cap, Rapunzel, Little Snow White, Hansel and Gretel, and Little Briar Rose. Little Red Cap is a tale of a young girl who is deceived by a wolf, who then tries to eat her grandmother and her but is saved by the huntsman. Rapunzel is about a young baby who was traded in place for her parents' misfortune of taking rampion, she grew up in a tall tower that only had a window. The enchantress called out to Rapunzel and she would let down her hair, a young prince saw this one day and began to do so. She is banished and the prince grows with despair, in the end they find each other and live happily ever after. • 7. Charles Perrault’s Fairytales The Introduction: Fairytales are stories that have some magical aspects. They usually tell a story about a castle and times when kings ruled the land. I always loved the princesses in these stories. When I was young, I would dress up as them. My friends and I would act out the stories. They usually teach a lesson. I always wanted the princess to escape of find a happy ending. Most fairytales end with "Happily ever after." Stories give us a distraction and a fantasy from real life. Stories give us a somewhat perfect picture of life. We try to make our lives reflect the story in some way. Most people even paint others as evil or mean, like the villains in the story. This paper's purpose is to incorporate fairy tales and their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She is faced with troubles trying to prohibit her from her happy ending, of marrying the prince. Another fairy tale that is very well–liked is "Little Red Riding Hood." In this story, Little Red Riding Hood is on a quest to go to her grandmother's house. An evil wolf tricks her and ends up eating her in the end. The readers of fairy tales have been using these stories as examples for their lives, since the 18th century. Since fairy tales set and example for real life situations, it is important to see the naivety of the main character is a main reason why the evil enemies are able to take advantage of them so effortlessly. In the fairy tale, "Sleeping Beauty in the Wood", the princess' curiosity captivates her and she pricks her finger, on the spindle. The evil old fairy barely had to use her magic powers on the girl. In "Little Red Riding Hood", her curiosity of the grandma's different looks and gullibility gets her close enough to the wolf for her to be eaten, in the end. Also, in the fairy tale "Blue Beard", the young wife wants to open the locked closet door. Her curiosity guides her to do so, which leads her husband to put her in a dangerous situation and almost death. Therefore, it is important to realize and understand the naivety of characters in the stories and their confrontations with evil characters. Emerald City: An Unraveled Fairytales An unraveled fairytale Once upon a time, there was a railway system connecting different passages to the Emerald City, a place where each person wishes to be at the top, to obtain their freedom, equality, and their social status. These were the underlying reason for the antithesis of the city. In Emerald city, education was available to them, which could be an opportunity for each person to become prince or princesses. The legendary places are called National Royal Congress and The Newborn League, this is the stage where they become part of the royal family. Lorme was worried of newborn children in the royal family; therefore, he acted with hatred and violence. He slashed them bit by bit as they haunt him 'til the end of time. A beautiful ... In the end, the witch protected the Honey Blossom trade because of the vast majority desiring the addicted substance. The Cheetah by her side attracted people to the message of the witch's ideology. Their mortal enemy, Snake eyes, are people who accuse the witch of attacking their territory. Snake eyes took all of Milem territory, which restored the witches sovereignty. There was a magic building standing across the horizon in which lies the suffrage of The Delta Seaplex. There was a burst of fire from the evil fairy mother, "Who had caused this will suffer!!," after finding out the collapse of the Treasure Island. Money, gold, silver, and diamonds were gone, which was outrageous towards her, which caused famine to each household. • 11. Fairytales Double Standards Throughout time, double standards have always been present in every type of situation and every type of literature; they are even present in children's fairytales. Though fairytales were intended for adults, they were soon transformed to entertain children; and double standards of men and women are still present in today's variations of the tales despite the changes made to them. There are many types of double standards presented in a variety of ways. One of those standards is who can and who cannot marry royalty despite the fact that they are not royalty themselves. This double standard can be seen in such tales as "Cinderella", "Diamonds and Toads", "Jack the Giant Killer", and "Tom Thumb". The double standard of who can and who cannot marry royalty despite the fact that they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In many tales, women can marry royalty if they are not royalty themselves, as long as they are worthy, beautiful, and have not committed any kind of social transgression of that particular time period. In older time periods, especially that of the medieval time period, royalty only married royalty and on very rare occasions they would marry nobles. The requirement was money and title. A prince would only marry a princess or queen and a princess would only marry a prince or king. It was not socially acceptable for royalty to marry those that were not royalty. In the instances of "Cinderella" and "Diamonds and Toads", this is not necessarily the case; princes did marry women of lower social status based on their beauty, self worth, and the fact ... And once in a rare, whimsical while I succeed. For a brief, passing moment I will believe that carousels can come to life, and unicorns with wings will carry me to the other side of the sun. That miracles will happen, and all dreams can come true. It is a lovely daydream that I always wish could remain just a little while longer. A beautiful daydream too fragile to withstand even the gentlest sigh. Do you know what I love? Of course you don't. I love the incongruent. I love men's clothes on women. I think it would be like living in a Monet painting, were he ever to paint the city. I walk for a while along the strange streets of this puzzle, eventually wandering purposefully into the cavernous, cool, silent vacuum of a beautiful, small, wonderfully ornate church on the upper east side. The church of the Holy Trinity. Instantly I am certain I have gone deaf. It is the one place I have been where the silence is so loud you can hear it. The complete and total lack of sound. The silence is so strong, so dominating I cannot even hear myself breathing. I am nothing. Sweet, perfect nothing. I feel I have gone back in time. The stone walls and rising wooden beams reach impossibly far into the vault of the ceiling. There is none there but I. Alone. And yet, there is such an intense sense of fullness. I am afraid to take a step for fear the sound of my boot on the floor will shatter the very air. • 17. Greed In The Hobbit : The Consequences Of Fairytales As a child, my favorite story growing up was not the typical fairytales of most kids youth. My older brother would often tell me his favorite stories from the X–Men. The kind, wise, and caring Professor X, constantly at odds with the cruel and cunning Magneto were the backdrop to many of the stories I was told at that time. Only as I grew older did I realize how much of deeper meaning those tales had within them, and the lessons it held. The conflict between mutants and humans mirror that of the civil rights movement. With Professor X and Magneto as stand–ins for Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm X respectively. Realizing this I began to look closer to the stories around me. Looking at the stories that we have read so far, we see a consistent moral shared between the books. That is greed, and how it leads to the ultimate destruction of the character who exhibit it. Greed is the downfall for Smaug from The Hobbit, Martin from The Hell–Bound Train and Donny from Jeffty is Five. In The Hobbit, it is easy to see how greed is a vice for the characters. The main and clearest example is Smaug the dragon. From the beginning of the story, we are told of the greedy nature of the dragons, how they would burn and sack villages for the treasure they hold. Smaug's biggest example of greed is when he takes the treasure from the dwarven city, Dale. Thus sparking the quest to reclaim and slay the dragon. This quest leads to Smaug's ultimate demise. It can also be seen in the writing style ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 19. The Evil in Fairytales The Evil in Fairytales These stories are suffused with the same purity that makes children appear so marvelous and blessed. Wilhelm Grimm, preface to Nursery and Household Tales Many adults are hardly prepared for the graphic descriptions of murder, mutilation, cannibalism, infanticide, and incest that fill the pages of these bedtime stories for children. Maria M. Tatar, The Hard Facts about the Grimm's Fairy Tales Introduction Children all over the world listen to fairytales every night at bedtime and hear colorful stories about evil witches, goblins, hobgoblins and other terrible creatures of the night. Indeed, the some of the most famous fairytales by the Brothers Grimm are filled with evil creatures that are out to do humankind harm. Moreover, many of the stories in fairytales do not contain the watered–down version of evil that is depicted by many Disney–type productions in modern media but rather describe the real thing where people can suffer and even die as a result of their contact with the evil creatures in fairytales. Some authorities even argue that fairytales can be disturbing for young readers, but most seem to agree that the good–triumphs–over–evil themes in fairytales make them timeless and appropriate for everyone. To gain some fresh insights in this area, this paper provides a review of the relevant peer–reviewed and scholarly literature concerning the evil in fairytales, including examples, followed by a summary of the research and important ... This genre of literature represents human fears in a more symbolic and allegorical way, allowing readers to address their phobias in a safe frame. Gothic fiction is mistakenly associated with adult fiction due to the common belief that the gruesome events described in this mode of literature are inappropriate for children. Nevertheless, kids are the ones who have the biggest questions and fears. Gothic fiction, with its grotesque creatures and spooky places, turns kid fears into fictional characters that are defeated by the forces of good. Of course, these elements do not appear as sinister as in adult Gothic fiction, but the basis is the same. A proof for their presence is Karen Coats' observation. As Coats puts it, traditional Gothic stories for adults provide fairytale themes and motifs with an evil tone (78). If there were not any similarities between these two genres of literature, traditional adult Gothic would not use fairytales as a basis. Furthermore, considering that Charles Perrault's "Little Red Riding Hood" is a splendid example of traditional fairytales, it is worth observing if Gothic elements can be traced in it. "Little Red Riding Hood" includes characteristics that resemble Gothic fiction's characteristics as presented by David Punter; "an emphasis on portraying the terrifying, a common insistence on archaic settings, a prominent use of the supernatural..." (cited in Roberts 21). Firstly, the setting is terrifying; a young girl alone in the woods. Secondly, the use of supernatural is profound; the wolf can speak and think like humans. According to Coats, this kind of elements in classic fairytales, like creepy settings, forbidden wishes and evil villains, are associated with children's "dangerous impulses" and "aggressions" (78). • 23. Aladdin a Disney Fairytale A long, long time ago, in the year of 1992, a very famous Disney Fairytale hit the big screen. Aladdin is about a young orphan on a fascinating journey to becoming a heroic man. The majority of people are unaware of the qualifications of a real hero. Many people think the only way to achieve heroism is by dying for something or someone you love. There are heroes everywhere you look, Disney movies, fairytales, cartoons, books etc. A hero doesn't have to possess unusual superpowers like, immortality, time traveling, invisibility, mind control or superhuman strength. In fact, some super heroes possess nothing more than, love, generosity, kindness, cheer and trust. Sometimes all you need to be a hero is abandonment at birth, a friend and a will to survive. This is exactly why I chose the Disney character of Aladdin. This charming story, made famous by Disney takes place in the Middle East. The trials and tribulations of Aladdin include moments of love, adventure, trickery, and deceit. Aladdin embarks in this journey unintentionally but proves to have endured a comprehensive maturation of character while achieving valuable insight about who is truly is and what he stands for by the time he completes his adventure. When following the journey of a hero you will usually find something on the lines of an unusual birth, or something unique about the hero's childhood. Aladdin was born to his father, Cassim and his mother, who is unnamed in the film. Cassim left Aladdin and his mother ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. Fairytales : ' Fairytales ' Fairytales! These stories have such an impact on everyone, especially children. Each and everyone has grown up to reading or hearing fairy tales. Fairytales at first were written as adults entertainment and then slowly writers started rewriting the tales in which children learn basic life lessons while still being entertaining. Because of these fairy tales, most of us know the difference between good and bad. However, it can have different impact depending on how the child reads/hears it. For example, they can grow up to do the right things in life or the negative aspects of it. The way in which the author decides to display his/her purpose of their story can lead to readers, in this case, the children to think of morals that they come to believe in thorough the tale. It 's important to establish a moral understanding in children; who they will become as they grow up, what motivates them can all come from what they believe is right or wrong. That is why fairytales plays an important role, also not only that but parents/adults as well. The authors of some Little Red Riding Hood 's versions has scenarios where Little Red is eaten which is almost expected out of a frightened girl against a menacing wolf. However, when there is the scenario where Little Red triumphs over the wolf, it is done so in a gruesome way–almost to say that killing someone is alright because they have committed the same crime. However, these fairytales usually have a constant theme where princesses most of the time are shown to be the main characters or the center of the story. Disney cartoons have the ability to inject ideologies into the brains of children due to their animation–based and fantasy story–lined films. Preschoolers are like medieval philosophers: the text –– a book, a movie, a TV show –– is more authoritative than the evidence of their own eyes." (para.7). These cartoons subtly communicate with children in their own language, by trying to bring a fantasy to reality and that is why these depictions seem to be engraved in their memories. Do Rozario (2004) also said, "By 1959 and the release of Sleeping Beauty, the three good fairies give up their magic wands for housework in order to protect and conceal Princess Aurora from the evil fairy, Malificent (who has failed to consider that these three might give up the convenience of magic to live in a peasant cottage)." Marriage: Not Always a Fairytale "I take you, to be my lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part." Zipes is not using 'institutionalised' in the traditional, negative sense of being rigid and never evolving. He theorises that fairy tales have become part of the social psyche. They permeate into every aspect of the social unconscious to become meme, examples of which are 'tunes, ideas and catchphrases' (Montgomery, 2009, p. 46). Some people feel that by telling these stories it allows them to revert back on their childhood lives. Writers began to prove that continuing these stories not only reverts a person back to their childhood, but it carries out different values meant to gain through them. I personally agree that fairytales are told to gain life lessons. Although various people have come up with theories, but no one really knows why we continue these stories. Jonathan Young wrote an essay for Inside Journal magazine called "Once Upon a Time, How Fairytales Shape Our Lives." In his essay he began to explain why he believed that we continue to tell these stories or fairytales. One of the reasons he says is that fairytales take us back to a place of innocence as a kid. I think that when we do tell fairytales that it does allow us to go back to the time where a little bit of nothing meant a whole lot of something to us. As a kid I would often experience this type of effect when I was told a fairytale. The meaning behind saying that a little bit of nothing meant a whole lot of something to us simply says that we valued the content rather than the meaning of the tale. As we grew older we generally like to be reverted back to this time when genuine happiness came from just about anything that could be imagined. So , with fairytale consistency, we shall begin at the beginning: On the very first page of Oz Baum actually states that his wish was to create a modern American fairy tale similar to "the old time" collections of the Grimm brothers. This artistic intention instantly problematises the text in the context of its generic status. It begs the question of whether a story can be a true fairytale if it is so informed by its natural predecessors which sprang almost spontaneously from ancient and anonymous sources. Baum writes with a scholarly knowledge of fairytales behind him. In fact he wrote a 1902 essay "On the Fairytale." Fairytales have a vaguely documented chronology that potentially stretches back to thousands of years BC. They are sourced from myth, legend, the collective unconscious, rumour, tradition or "abstractions from real events" (Propp, xvii). Movies like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and The Little Mermaid have captured the attention of young children since the mid–twentieth century. A child's opinion on gender roles and behaviors has been strengthened by Disney movies. Most young girls believe their lives will be incomplete without a man to protect them from all evils. Women have always felt inferior to men due to society's interpretation of them in major motion pictures and advertisements. Society has started to realize its mistake on judging women and their ability to be independent by giving women more inspiring and uplifting roles in movies. This romantic fairytale does not identify women as powerless, but instead starts a positive trend of independence and intelligence. The whole point of Aladdin's narrative is that he, unlike everyone else in Agrabrah, has great potential. Aladdin is worthy enough to enter a cave so magical it is named the Cave of Wonders. Aladdin, as the audience is told, is better than the local merchants selling food tin order to support their families. He is better than the guards, who were hired by the palace to try their best to get the streets of Agrabrah safe. Aladdin per this movie is the best person in town. This view of Aladdin is false, while Aladdin is said to have great potential, in the movie Aladdin is not seen doing anything that makes him deserving of this title. And it is painfully clear by the end on the story that no one in Aladdin cares about helping the people of Agrabrah. Based on the indirection to Agrabrah in the movie, Agrabrah is a large trade town. There is access to jewels and wonders, yet the common person lives in poverty. The merchants in the market place are very entuned to theft. And it appears that the sole purpose of the Palace guards is to pursue these thieves. This suggests that theft is a huge problem in Agrabrah, which also suggests that poverty is prevalent in the town. In Aladdin's character defining introductory song, he tells us that he is good at stealing. "They're quick, but I'm much faster...(Aladdin)" One loaf of bread costs a fish ... • 59. Stereotypical Fairytale And Relative Peace When a child does something wrong, an older, wiser adult is always there to scold them for the wrongdoing. Inevitably, they are then forced to accept the punishment and guilt that it bears. However, when they transform into an adult, they are the old, wise adult, and no one is there to scold them. It must be found within themselves to discern the sin committed and hold the guilt within their own hearts, but then also forgive themselves for it, of which it is much easier to do as a child. If unforgiven, the guilt manifests itself within their being, slowly monopolizing on their lives until they become a mere shell of their prior beings, scarcely able to survive daily life with the blanket of guilt weighing down so heavily upon them. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Barely under this facade of composure and innocence, unbeknownst to him, was his rapidly expanding feeling of dishonor. Not only had he committed an act so unspeakable for the time, but he had also failed to admit this fault to those who held his holiness above all else. In this way, he felt he had betrayed the townspeople, of whom he knew their countless sins, and the only "person" who could ever truly forgive him: God. As a result of these unforgivable crimes, Dimmesdale subjected himself to a torture brought about by his own inability to forgive himself for the crimes committed. Only a short while into his self–flagellation, the decaying of his physical well being became apparent to any and all onlookers, as the text states, "he was often observed, on any slight alarm or other sudden accident, to put his hand over his heart, with first a flush and then a paleness, indicative of pain," (Hawthorne 108). This quotation exemplifies the obvious change in Dimmesdale's demeanor, while also creating a connection between mind and body. With such a guilt fueling his need to gain redemption, he turned to pain as a way to "relieve" the unshakeable ailment he invariably felt. However, this did not achieve anything as his mental state further deteriorated and his physical conditions followed suit, to the point that he was scarcely able to bear his own weight or ... • 61. Symbolism in Fairytales Essay Symbolism in Fairytales Fairytales are as ancient as communal living. However, the symbolism of fairytales is very controversial. In the case of Cinderella, I believe that it symbolizes the role of women in society and the characteristics that women should have. In Bruno Bettelheim's article "'Cinderella:' A Story of Sibling Rivalry and Oedipal Conflicts," he depicts the fairytale as a case of sibling rivalry. Feminist Madonna Kolbenschlag, says in her article "A Feminist View of `Cinderella,'" that the fairytale represents women's role in society. Karol Kelley's article "A Modern Cinderella," also claims that the fairytale describes the women's role in society and their characteristics. The topics discussed by the authors are the ... Secondly, the meaning of Cinderella's work I think, is demeaning to her, and again it represents the traditional role of women to take care of the housework. Cinderella stays at home doing the housework is a traditional feminine role, but is dirty, physically demanding, and demeaning (Kelley 89). Bettelheim believes that the work is symbolic to children and the reasons they do work. As long as you work hard you will be rewarded (570). This is an interesting point, but I think the dirty and physically demanding housework may also show a distinction in social class. The Prince, being a man, obviously doesn't clean floors or cook. He holds the highest level in society at that time. Third is the significance of the ashes. I believe that Cinderella's home among the ashes is a direct correlation with the virtues that the hearth symbolizes. Kolbenschlag describes the hearth as a place of purity, innocence, nurturance, docility, and empathy (525). These virtues coincide with the virtues of Cinderella, a model for women. Bettelheim sees the ashes as another symbol of degradation and sibling rivalry. Living in ashes is more debasement (568–9). In my opinion, this also is true. Living in ashes is dirty and demeaning; however, when analyzing a fairytale, symbolism is of the utmost importance. Therefore, one can conclude that Cinderella posses the same ... • 63. The Fairytale Of Cinderella By James Poniewozik Each and every child grows up viewing Disney movies, wearing princess gowns, and buzz lightyear suits. The parents of these children are the individuals purchasing these Disney costumes, toys, candy, and other related items for their children. Our society today accepts Disney and their culture of entertainment as a part of a child's childhood experience without second thought. Elements of the fairytale of Cinderella has adapted over time to please the culture in which it is told; yet in today's culture, adaptation to these elements is taken to where it has never been. In "The Princess Paradox," James Poniewozik says, "You can have the girly dream of glass slippers and true love, these films say, as well as the womanly ideal of self–determination and independence and any contradictions between them are no match for the movies' magic" (Poniewozik 324). Peggy Orenstein compliments Poniewozik's article because she states, "The first Princess items, released with no marketing plan, no focus groups, no advertising, sold as if blessed by a fairy godmother" (Orenstein 327). Poniewozik is trying to argue that films have altered the story of Cinderella in the 21st century cinema realm due to the addition of the concept of feminism, women 's separation from men, and the traditional magic implemented within them. Orenstein marries these articles together indirectly by pointing out that Disney legitimately had no marketing plan, yet they continue to rake in money. The reason Disney ... • 65. Into The Beautiful North: A Modern Fairytale The question of whether Into the Beautiful North could be a modern fairytale really sparked a few thoughts in my head, since I would have never made that comparison upon reading it myself. Say, though, I decide to break down an actual fairytale and then juxtapose this analysis to that of ITBN, I now realize that a lot of similarities can be identified. The issue of magic realism plays in heavily, adding in a few fictional aspects here and there to the book. Above all though, and using the fairytale of Cinderella as my base throughout this essay, it's easy to make connections from fairytale characters to the characters portrayed in Into the Beautiful North. The reasons above lead me to state that Urrea's novel can in fact exemplify a modern fairytale. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It houses a calm and laid back type of environment that generally runs smoothly. But as in every fairytale, there has to be a central problem; a focus that tends to arise near the very beginning of the plot. "The modern era had somehow passed Tres Camarones by, but this new storm had found a way to siphon its men away, out of their beds and into the next century, into a land far away." (Urrea 4) The small town, except for a few elderly people and one gay person, had no male figures left as they had all left for the United States. Although everything may have physically been okay, the whole mental state of the small town had been in decline for some time now. The women were ready to have their men back, which establishes Tres Camarones as the troubled "person," the damsel in distress, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 67. Fairytales In Cinderella And Cinderella Fairytales are expressed as writing; which ultimately reveals a morale toward the audience. These stories typically display the hero as a male who potentially saves the heroine. Throughout time, these stories develop themes and ideas that allow readers to discover its true purpose. These versions let the audience envision the story in a new perspective. From the development of time, readers notice the shift of heroism from male characters toward female characters. Through an analysis of literary terms and elements in the original version of "The Little Glass Slipper," and "Cinderella", their themes were modified due to the changes in time, plot and societal norms. My agreement in the newer purpose of modified stories can be represented through the fairytale "Cinderella".The fairytale originated from the story entitled, "The Little Glass Slipper," which was written by Charles Perrault. This original tale was reformed through the Brother's Grimm version otherwise known as "Cinderella". When anaylizing both works, the reader notices that each story has its own morale, ending and plot. Each fairytale, results in a newer ending from the shift in time. In the original tale, the story concludes with kindness overruling beauty, however, in the second version the step sisters are punished for their actions toward Cinderella. The morale of the original tale, describes Cinderella's kindness to defeat the negativity of her step sisters. The newer versions, prove a differing morale ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 69. Innocence Vs. Maturity In Fairytales Innocence Vs. Maturity in Fairytales In the article 'Into the Woods': How Disney Tiptoed Around Johnny Depp's Creepy, Sexualized Song," Ashley Lee thoroughly displays the underlying motif of sexuality in a song part of a controversial portrayal of the children's tale, Little Red Riding Hood. In this article, Lee describes the way the song "Hello Little Girl" alludes to more mature topics than what may meet the eye of a young child, as well as the efforts of the directors to handle this bold topic. Through my essay, I intend to discuss the excess illustrations of double significance that are viewed through the duration of the song that Lee is writing on. Lee persuades her view on this by giving multiple examples from the scene of the movie, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 71. Made Up Fairytale Hi, Be Our Guest & Be A Part of Our World I know they say that every fairytale starts with "Once upon a time..." but honestly this fairytale happened last week and it won't be all that magical to tell you. I guess I should probably introduce myself right? Hi, I'm Cinderella. I'm just your average blonde who looses glass slippers at balls. Don't let me fool you though. This story has absolutely nothing to do with me. I'm just the narrator. It all began last Tuesday when this guy named Ryan met a beautiful girl walking along the pier. I know this just sounds so romantic right? Trust me it gets better. This beautiful girl, well, she didn't have a name, but let me tell you she was one beautiful person. Ryan, being the typical guy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With no time to spare, they each picked up their mining gear and headed off into the forest to find a quaint little place to mine this gold. In the time the men were gone, Snow White had apparently just gotten into another fight with her "evil stepmom". I really don't know what's so evil about this woman, but Snow really can't complain until she's taken a walk in my shoes. Being the whiny little brat that she is, Snow was running through the woods crying her eyes out just hoping someone would find her and give her just an ounce of attention. Poor girl. By the way things looked it was apparent she had no intentions of returning home, and with no one in sight she propped up against a large tree stump in defeat. When she leaned up against the wood though, it caved in and she fell into the middle of what she had thought to believe was a normal every day stump. Shocked and amazed at what she found inside, Snow decided to just make herself at home, because that's princess etiquette. Several hours had passed and the dumbbells, I mean dwarves, were headed back home to rest. After their one–mile trek through the sketchy woods, Jockey was the first to reach the door and pushed it open in relief. However, what they were bound to find inside wouldn't really settle well. • 73. Noah's Ark Fairytale Is the Noah's Ark story true or just a nice fairytale? There are many questions that people wonder about this biblical story but one of the major ones that people are asking is, could the boat stay afloat with all of the animals in it? A lot of science goes into answering this question. Scientist have discovered that in order to float, the object has to exert the same amount of force on the water as the weight of the water it displaces. If the object had a greater density than the water it would sink. They calculated that the empty boat would have no problem at all staying afloat on the ocean. The ark was about the size of a very small cargo ship. It was discovered that the ark could hold about 2.15 million sheep and sill stay afloat. There ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 75. Allusion In Dustland Fairytale The writer of "Dustland Fairytale", Brandon Flowers, best employs allusion as well as diction to prove the theme not everything in life goes perfectly. Throughout the song, Flowers changes the music to represent different events a couple may face, while using diction, specific word choice at certain points, to metaphorically represent the situations the couple, which turned out to be Flowers' parents, may be in. The song starts off softly, using word choice like "some kind of slick chrome American prince"(Flowers 7) to paint a picture of the perfect fairytale–like couple. The story then takes a darker turn using words such as "Out here the good girls die" (Flowers 32) to represent his mother getting a brain tumor, and how it would affect the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When he writes "Saw Cinderella in a party dress" and "I threw my money and I ran away" (Flowers 20–22), the listener is able to see how some people would give up if they had to struggle with a family member, especially a significant other, or a mother, having a brain tumor. Since the lyrics are dark at this point, the listener is able to understand that the reason he "threw his money away" is because, the ending of the fairytale wasn't perfect. In most fairy tales, there is a point where all hope seems lost, like when Cinderella lost her shoe and the prince couldn't find her. Then, it all comes together to resolve and make the perfect ending like when the prince and Cinderella found each other and fell in love. In this fairytale, however, Flowers indicated that it seemed that this story wouldn't have a perfect ending after all. Flowers also uses "Cinderella" to relate her story to the couple's time urgency; Cinderella only had a certain amount of time left in her dress, just like how the mother only has a certain amount of time left before she passes. Throughout the story, the listener is able to fully understand how important it is to be ready for difficulties, especially ones that are unexpected and effect ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
